Brilliant. I love what you say in the closing talk. ‘It speaks to me’ -so real. Cascadia has become my best friend and I’m still learning. Looking forward to the follow ups!
Awesome breakdown of the Cascadia! This will definitely be the next step for me in the semi-modular world. I dig the sound a lot. Thanks for your thoughts on this. 🙏🏾
I agree that this and other ‘complex’ modular devices are rather difficult to understand and learn. They reward experience exponentially. There is a frustration I have about the “know what you want to do first” perspective, however - many beginner queries are answered by “it depends on what you want to do” responses - accurate but a dead end; of course it’s up to all of us to learn and educate ourselves, and a great yet expensive way is to make an investment and get hands-on time. I love (and am terrified by) CASCADIA, but I am learning! Thanks for posting your perspective 👋
I’ve been waiting for a video like this - thank you!! I’m new to synthesis at this level and am struggling to understand how to use CASCADIA , so this is so helpful. Very inspiring, cheers!!
I made the mistake of getting into modular too early. I think you really need to understand what you want before buying something like this. I guess the nice thing about cascadia is that it is at least a complete unit.
Man, I really would like to get into a module synth instrument. The options to work, with such an instrument, reminds me of painting in the studio, with all the different materials, colors, and ideas I could use without a preconceived 'idea' of what will be created. In addition, if the sound becomes too familiar for you, you could always buy different modules, just like i'll buy a specific color I typically don't paint with when i want change in my work. Despite all these great points, the one thing i just can't get past is the overall sound of Euro modules for the type of 'sound' i typically use in my work. Who knows, perhaps one day, and i'm always keeping an ear on the Eurorack world.
it is both a beautiful and daunting world. I spent too much money getting modules thinking they would change my life and then never really used them.I feel you need a good amount of discipline to make eurorack working for you, but of course it can be extremely rewarding!
It seems like a wonderful machine. The question is how does it compare to a Behringer 2600 that is a fourth of the price... I understand it's a boutique instrument but competition is fierce. Very good demo anyway.
Random question but I really like the background music at around 29:00, is that done with the Cascadia too? I wonder how good it is for those type of melodic ambient textures
Love the concept and realisation of this synth, but it seems to lack a distinctive sound, which the Analogue Solutions synths have [or, the Vermona PerFormer]
The Arp2600 was certainly an inspiration, as was the Buchla Easel, System100m and CwejmanS1mkii. However, the Arp2600 is missing the following key features found on the Cascadia: - Wavefolder - Multimode Filter with totally different topology from the ARP filter - Secondary Diode Ladder filter - TZFM with FM index VCA - FX Send / Return Loop - Much more complex envelope generators with CV control - Synthetic noise sources - Output Distortion - Extensive MIDI implementation including MPE capability and dual mode Cascadia is also substantially more compact and will fit in a backpack.

have had the cascadia for over a year now. this is one of my forever synths
same here!
@@OoraMusic and here! And it just keeps getting better. Paraphony for Christmas and MPE for Easter!
Here too in a major way! It's seriously one of the best synths ever made

Thank you! Cheers!
Great explanation
Glad you think so!

great video about a great instrument!
Thanks!
Great!! Thank you
You are welcome!

Yes, that was made sending the cascadia to S4 and then slowed the tape down! With some processing any source can go in that direction I think!

To be honest, I didn't touch on the sound design 9 coming soon0. It might surprise you!
Caterina Barbieri Fantas vibes.
I can see that!
Cascadia is based on the SH-101 with modular capabilities…a pretty nifty upgrade is on the way…
dont forget a second independent voice :)
@@OoraMusic I would never!
@@honer777what is on the way?????????
What’s on the way?
I think they spent more time on desigining the chasis then what's under the hood.... Not impressed with the sonic output...
respectfully disagree
It's pretty much like the ARP 2600 so the Behringer ARP or Korg ARP Mini would give similar results.

Plus, this is more sexy.
Cascadia is a perfect mono semi-modular. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is very bad!
I didn't do the math bu I think is a good deal considering what it offers?
nothing exciting
Fair enough :D
Oora do you offer mentorship/tutoring 1on1? If so where can i get in contact with you?
