Thanks Marc, that was very informative and helpful on being organised enough to track everything. It made a change from watching an actual engraving video!
Thank you Marc for a VERY informative video. I have been struggling pricing up my products and your down to earth ,no nonsense approach really opened my eyes. Best wishes and keep up the good work. Kindest regards. Kevin
Hi, i'm from Philippines I love your breakdown and all the information about your laser business. I have been wanting forever to have one specifically the Algolaser but i dnt have enough money to buy one and start the business. I've watched alot of videos about laserengraving and laser cutt8ng, i hope i could have one in the near future. Nice video, great help, keep it up!😊
Thanks for this, good breakdown of costs and the things you can make money from. I got a resin printer 6 months ago and now have a FDM printer as well, still don't know what to make ! “ Who needs to be their own worst critic when you have a wife to do it for you :)” I say double down, and go full-time !
I started with an fdm printer back in 2014. It was more for personal use but with some stuff on eBay and friends wanting stuff made I made the cost of the printer plus more back. Got a cheap resin printer a few years back and used to make bespoke silicone moulds that I mainly sold on a single Facebook group and made an absolute killing. I purchased a much better resin printer and my first laser after that and that’s mainly where the UA-cam channel started from there. As much as it would be nice working for myself full time it would feel like a job to me and I’ll find myself doing it because I have to and not because I enjoy doing it anymore. Maybe one day when I’m sick of my day job 🤷🏻♂️😂
Interesting video. I'd encourage anyone thinking of doing it for a hobby to remember to cost in your own time. I know it probably doesn't matter to you as a hobby but it's really hard for people that want to make a living from it to compete against hobbyists selling for material cost.
Great point!! That’s one of the reasons I stopped selling on sites like Etsy. It’s impossible to compete with makers who charge £2 for a poorly made slate coaster or 50p for something like a dog tag.
Great video with great information been told to look for a new hobby, which is how I came across your channel and I think a laser will be a great investment if I can make a little bit of money back I’m sure the lady my life will agree. Thank you again for all the information and all the great content.
Thank you very much for the kind words. It’s a great hobby to get into for sure. The possibilities are endless and you can make a good chunk of money doing it too 😊
The slate was from a shop ok eBay originally who I just go to direct now. Shop is called ‘Eureka stores’ I believe. Wood is from somebody I came in contact with through a UK laser group on Facebook. There’s loads of people in those types of groups who will always offer cheap off cuts. Everything else, such as the hat patches and business cards are all from AliExpress. I just downloaded the app and search whatever I need and whoever is offering them cheapest at the time 👍🏻
Cheers for another very informative video! You have a typo in the title BTW. Wifey-thingy is about to set up an Etsy shop (arty-farty but non-laser stuff), but I'll suggest Facebook marketplace to her now since you seem to favour that. 🙂
Thanks for the tip. That’s what I get for editing until silly o’clock in the morning 😂 Etsy is good and works well for a lot of people. It was just too much of a pain listing products and some of the ways the run it just isn’t for me. Facebook is so much easier and more people will see your products for much cheaper and even for free with marketplace 👍🏻 Good luck with it all though. Hope it works out for both you and the wife :)
@@MARCAM She's already watching all these videos from people being ripped off by Etsy, having their stores closed for whatever guilty-till-proven-innocent kinda things, money withheld and so on. Will just be a side-thing for her and I may or may not put any laser thingies on there... we'll see where it goes. 🙂
The site is just a joke these days 😉 Slate products are all you need 👍🏻 Something I didn’t sell last month was a wooden and slate cheeseboard type thing. They sell so well and look really well presented with something as simple as a name engraved on them.
@@MARCAM I just bought the 12w creativ falcon 2 rotary bundle. Im hoping its good enough to do what I need. I make candles and I want to etch my logo and name on each vessel and lids..Plus I want to make metal business cards. I hope the 12w is enough, if not I will ship it back and go for the 22w. But if you are giving one away that is better than the 12w-heck, I'll hope I win. lol
@Purplexedtc 12w will be more than fine to engrave onto candles and business cards. A 5w would even be suitable. I’ve just filmed a review of the 22w falcon2 pro and it’s definitely more for cutting than engraving due to the size of the beam and the power 👍🏻

Brilliant info. Thanks very much, the breakdown of what sold and amounts very useful. Best video for uk side hustle or full time buisness.
Thank you Marc for all the information on here. When I start up I will definitely keep using this for reference 😊
Thank you very much and good luck with it 😊
Thank you for the no-nonsense breakdown of what to expect at part-time.
Fantastic content, thank you, brother!
Hi @MARCAM,
Thanks for the breakdown and all details.
Regards,
DC
Great explanation and breakdown of expenses and income. I am encouraged by your video

Wonderful information, thank you
Thanks for the great break-down.
Really interesting - just want to dip my toes in the laser market.
Thanks for the rundown. I'm just starting out myself
Good luck with it all. I’ve probably over complicated somethings but it’s so simple. Just be organised and never over promise. 👌🏻
Really helps show how to use this hobby to earn something.
Very informative video mate really appreciate it
Nice video. Very useful information.

thanks for the content this is some useful information
Really good video. Really need to start doing this as I have no idea how much I spend or actually make.
I was the same when I started. I did so much for friends and family and never actually worked out what my spending was.
Fantastic information, thank you🙏🏼
Great video
Very Cool.
Super informative bud ... You might have even given me my mojo back🤞🏻... Speak soon
Thank you :)
And good luck to you. Hopefully you can churn more stuff out than I do and get yourself making the big bucks 😉
Appreciate the price transparency. Would be good to see the acrylic products, were these done on the Mira?
Yeah everything acrylic was done with the co2. Thought I’d do a separate video on that as this is just mainly centred around a diode 👍🏻
Great!

Hi Marc… would you be kind enough to share where you get your business cards from was it Amazon? But which ones are brand there’s 100’s on Amazon.
I get mine directly from china but here’s a good deal on Amazon for 100 of them. amzn.to/3XqI71e
Nice, wife has me looking at this to help her remain a stay at home mom, and give me a new toy to play with.
It’s a good little machine tbf. For something that’s so cheap and easy to use it packs a big punch in the diode laser game for sure 👍🏻
Could you add a link to your material sources?

Did you give it away? I need a laser, hence how I found you. lol
Not yet. Will announce it in a couple weeks. Then I’ll. ore than likely do another one as I still got a couple lasers to get through 👍🏻

I think you might've married my wife's sister. My wife thinks everything I make is crap as well.
