  • Through global connectivity, ideas and resources can be mobilized and applied to create change locally. Some of these changes can be scaled and appreciated way beyond where they originated. Archawat's talk focuses on the shape of future society through fascinating shifts in the global dynamic- so a question to consider is: Is localization
    the new globalization?
Born and raised in Bangkok, Archawat is a descendant of Karen people, a hill tribe hailing from the mountainous Thai province of Kanchanaburi. At the age of 18, Archawat left home for the United States and spent nearly a decade there where he received degrees in Business Economics and Public Policy from The George Washington University, and the American University. From 1997 - 2015, Archawat lived and worked in Washington DC, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Bangkok. Professionally, Archawat is leading a team of Public Affairs and Communications professionals across South East Asia
for one of the world's most well known brands. He currently lives in
Bangkok with his wife and two children, Sean and Tara. Archawat and his family still maintain their residence in the mountains, staying close to their roots. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
