- Baedeker vs. Silvers. Episode 20 from 8/6/1976. The "Tea Bag" Episode. The "(Fred) Baedeker Bad Answers" Episode. The "Bananas & Lovebirds in pairs" Episode.
My run of early Dawson episodes ends here.
Briefly featured on the WGN Morning News. - Розваги
Richard Dawson and Steve Harvey are the best Family Feud hosts, so many hilarious moments
"It's hard to believe this was the razor-sharp mind from yesterday." LOL!
Well, being from that generation I can certainly say I have NOT seen any improvement in intelligence in TV show contestants, or people in general!
This is the first early episode that had those really dumb wtf answers..
Heres to many more
WE READ BOOKS AND WERE LITERATE AND BOUGHT UP TO BE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN UNLIKE THE LAST 40 YEARS OF MONSTERS AND THUGS.
Thank you posting so many of these early episodes! Lots of fun and laughter!
"I said 'Name a time that most people get up,' and being the Einstein that you are, you said 'morning!' Our survey said-zip! Now, if that wasn't bad enough, I then asked you to name a time when most people go to bed, and you said, of course, 'night!'"
Ha ha ha da de duh dum LOL!
Our survey said... *ding* 2
How richard Dawson didn't laugh was beyond me. This was super hilarious
Lee Ludtke trying his best to get a straight face
...until September broke him
That Fast Money round was hilarious.
I agree Rodney!
as someone who was born in late 1997, it’s fascinating to watch these old episodes and learn about popular opinions through the questions. jack dempsey and gene tunney being above frazier and foreman really surprised me
and this is when family feud was really a family friendly show! :D steve made it dirty!
People were so innocent... Today someone would have said BREASTS (things that come in pairs) and it would have been up there
It probably would have been number 1 but you have to realize that sexual innuendo is popular these days especially with the rise of reality TV in the early 2000s.
NAME SOMETHING THAT COMES IN PAIRS BANANAS!
And his second answer was glasses!!
North Carolina technically is a Southern State, it's just not the first one that comes to mind.
Yes, just like a pickle is something you could technically buy in a delicatessen. I think what makes the answer odd is that he chose a state with the word "North" in its name for a Southern state.
KOHF34
True, but South Carolina would have been more obvious
@@jaelie8398 What could be more Southern than South Carolina, where in Sumter we had the first shot of the Civil War?
Kris Fletcher
I would have said Florida, because it's my home state
Kris Fletcher
I'm also pretty surprised Jack Johnson wasn't on the prize fighter one
I like the way Teri Baedeker speaks.
Women used to sound like that. Interesting how voices change.
JOHNBOY COOPER Yeah, Teri is so sizzling hot. 😍😍😍😍
Amongst Fred's answers, the only ones that were plausible were North Carolina and pickles.
I believe the top answer on the question "A time that most people get up." must be 7:30, and 10:30 for the question "A time that most people go to bed.", I think.
10:30???
I agree... about time most people go to bed. In the midwest it is around 10:00 or 10:30 PM since many are at work by 7:00 AM. On the US east coast 11:30 to midnight.
2nd round should have gone to the Silvers. The woman said "lovebirds" come in a pair and she got it wrong, yet "married couples" was on the board. That should have qualified as the answer, as much as socks qualified as stockings.
All socks are stockings - especially in 1976.
All lovebirds are NOT married couples.
That sort of thing happens all the time. The judge's rulings seem to be arbitrary and unpredictable.
Gene Wood was VERY happy in this episode!
Press 2 for "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!"
And yet all of the “funniest gameshow moments” compilations only use Morning & Night. MAN LITERALLY GOT POINTS FOR NIGHT!
Family Feud, home of the original Mannequin Challenge
Name something that comes in pairs. BANANAS. LOVEBIRDS. Name a time most people wake up. MORNING. Name a time most people go to bed. NIGHT.
Name a southern state. NORTH CAROLINA. Name something you buy at a delicatessen. PICKLES. Name something you put in tea. TEA BAG.
A pair of "Married Couples"? A famous rock? "Rock Hudson".
Funny that Richard got so caught up with the 2nd fast money olayer's silly answers that not one number one answer was revealed.
I believe it is obvious throughout the taping that the producers were pushing Richard for time.
Teri was robbed. When she said children i'm sure she meant twins. The judges were more forgiving in later seasons.
This guy gave the funny answers haha
Today's young generation be like.. "What time do you get out of bed?" "Afternoon" "What time do you go to bed?" "Morning"
In the later years, Dawson would've rejected the morning/night answers and asked for a time of day. I think they eventually realized it reflects badly on the show itself if the contestants don't understand the questions.
I am a big fan of the family feud!
I find it strange that they didn't reveal the #1 answers for Fast Money (in case this episode was uncut)
I think Dawson was overwhelmed by Fred's answers and forgot to reveal #1 answers!
My fast money answers-
7:00
11:00
Alabama
Turkey
Milk
I believe 8 AM would be the number 1 answer what time people get up and 10 PM is what time people go to bed
0:00 - fiddle music
6:57 - harmonica music
LOL for a game show!
Yee-haw! Ride 'em cowboy!
OMG SOMEONE PASSED !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hysterical! Hahahaha. And congrats on 3130!
He made two funny answers just like the guy who said Russians and alligator lol
I think this is the first one that I saw where he didn't give the number one answers.
Offhand I would say because he was a bit disgusted but then again it was $4505.00 the network in;t have to shell out.
What I meant was at the end in the Fast Money Round.
Teri is a babe.
It's not just the fact he only got 12 points, he only got 12 points back in the day when the questions were really simple (and it was possible for people to get over 200 by themselves).
Even the "alligator" family members were able to get over 12 on their respective turns in fast money.
All number 1 episodes according to show or board game
A time most people get up:6:00(Steve Harvey)
A time most people go to bed:10(family vs 8 is enough)
Any southern state:Georgia(board game)
Something you put in tea:lemon(one day vs benson)
What about what people buy in a deli? Pickles got three times more than ham. I think (under fire) I would've said 'meat' and would've been told 'be more specific' and said 'Salami'.
So what the hell was/is the number one answer? Tough question.
My other answers: Seven AM, Eleven PM, Alabama, and Lemon.
@@Inglewolf My favorites at the deli: Oven Roasted Low Sodium Turkey, Swiss Cheese and hard Salami. Yet, there are so many delicatessens that are like café/restaurants selling sandwiches. I said: "a sandwich". . . First thoughts without changing answers: 8 am, 9 pm, Ala-Get-Down-bama, a sandwich, and honey, of course.
He went from the "Penthouse" ;to the "outhouse" in one day. I think a Hangover was in the mix....lol
Poor Fred. None of his answers were totally outlandish (like "alligator"), but they were all kind of...unorthodox.
Steve didn't really make it dirty, since there were already some inaproppriate answers on Combs' version. Besides FF is pretty mild compared to what we see on TV nowadays
+thewhammy83, What month and year began airing on GSN of Richard Dawson's Family Feud 1976-1985 episodes
One does not put a tea bag into tea, since it is ALREADY tea. You put in lemon, sugar and/or cream etc.
Wasn’t Fred a contestant on The New Price is Right on CBS in March 1973?
yes he was :D
No, she wasn't "robbed". not all two-child families have twins.
It's hard to believe Teri never acquired work as a model, after this.
9:27
Dawson says "....stupid."
How would Steve Harvey react to some of Fred’s answers? Tea bag, morning, night, bananas come in pairs.

Something you buy at a delicatessen: ham
Something you put in tea: lemon
It was like when I was learning algebra in grade 7 and the teacher asked what is x and I said it was a letter
So what exactly ARE the number one answers on the first four questions in the final round, then?
I don't understand. Was this a non-kissing year for Richard?
Oh Fred. How the hell did he come up with these answers? Do you think he looks back at this and cringes at how bad his answers were?
7:28 A dumb answer!! 😂😂😂
What year was this filmed?
Afro and mustache FTW!! :D
the first 2 people against each other have the same hair lol
My answers to Fast Money:
Time that most people get up - 6AM
Time that most people go to bed - 10PM
Southern State - Georgia
Something you buy at a deli - Coldcuts
Something you put in tea - Honey
I would say
1. 6 am
2. 11 pm
3. Texas
4. Chicken
5. Water
Lawrence Walker
I'd say:
7:00
10:00
Georgia
Pickles
Sugar (beep, beep) Ice
the banana answer is good. my son likes those little sugary snacks sold in a pair..... banana twins ❤ 🍌 🧁
Here's a link to the 21st episode, if anyone is interested.

Did underwear not come in pairs yet when this was filmed?
Who are the two people who said "Night?"
Apparently, they didn't say morning...somehow.
Love birds? You both need help
11:32 Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, of course
I wonder this so often throughout the history of this show...why don't the families ever change one of the family members chosen to do the fast money challenge if they have done really poorly the first time, or even two or more times? It just kinda blows my mind when they pick one of the family that tends to not do well during the game to be one of the two that the big money challenge depends upon. Just bugs me is all! I loved Richard Dawson and am so glad that he was blessed with such a sweet and dear wife that he actually met on the game.
If we could see fast money from the day before might answer this one.
Am I the only teenager watching this?
lmaoo
Seeing how poorly Ted did in the proper game, why would they pick him to do the bonus round?
I don't get what's so funny about the "teabag" answer. Like, that's what I would've said honestly. Doesn't it make sense?
No kissing?
20th episode . . . before Richard's good luck kissing tradition caught on.
my fast money answers would be
7:00
10:00
Florida
Pickles
Lemon
I seriously don't get why pickles was a bad answer. That's the first thing I associate with a delicatessen
They should have let helen play fast money instead of Teresa.
19:19 what did fred also needed
StFidjnr
An earthquake to get him out of this
Children answer is twins, she got cheated
Isn’t twins the same as children?
I have noticed that the families have gotten dumber with each host, I kinda feel bad for Steve harvey for the amount of stupidity he has to deal with from the contestants.
Ríchards shirt and tie 😬
Dumbest contest ever
200 times 5 is 1000.... theres only 3 number spots and the board, hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
200 or more wins $5,000, in which case the scoreboard at the top showed the winning score, such as 214. That's why they only needed three spaces.
198 points = $990.00, 199 points = $995.00 . . . However according to the standing rules of play, there is a $5,000.00 Fast Money Bonus for reaching 200, rather than merely being awarded $1,000.00.
Steve harvey had a bad mouth. If he'd of left off all his cussing and vulgar things he could of been funny.
