I’m a local and all are on my list, this was the kick to go. Recs for your next trip: Stachowski’s deli on P Street in Georgetown is insane, get the roast beef sandwich then tell me what is better as it is the best I’ve had anywhere in all my years; Makan on 11th Street NW is Malaysian and the Nasi Ganja (fried chicken) dish is amazing and Sago for desert - everything I’ve had there makes me want to return the next day; Seki Izakaya may be the best Japanese joint I’ve been to outside Japan and go through the specials; and Anju a Korean restaurant that every dish puts me in a happy place, the Ssam board may be a favorite but it all is easily favorite meal worthy..
Happy you finally came to DC! You definitely hit some essential spots so far. For coffee, DUA COFFEE is one of the best. For food, Hiraya, Le Diplomat, Un Je Ne Sais Quoi are a few others. YOLO!!!!!!
The only one i been to is Rose avenue. everytime im in dc for breakfast, i can't resist going to call your mother or Belga for brunch. But i want to try yellow looks good
hello jacobwitz, dc is a fun place for 3 holidays since we just celebrated labor day - the start of back to school. independence day is a fun one to visit and might be crowded for special breakfast - heard anywhere near georgetown campus are good places to eat. the last holiday to visit is easter spring break - they have a different botanical garden feel for walks and now the fitbit craze from having phones on our waist everywhere. el-
Really appreciate the attempt at properly pronouncing middle eastern food words. Try this: leb-knee, instead of lahb-nah. ZA-tahr instead of za-TAR. None of these adjustments are exact, but they’ll get you closer to correct.
Great reviews! As a local DC'er, thanks for recommending new places here.
@@carmstrong07 thanks!!

And that cute neighborhood is Mt. Pleasant! They really live up to their slogan of "a village in the city".

Food should be the only reason to go to Washington, or to attend sports with food.
Was that your girl friend in the back at the Breakfast place?
