    Nicely done! A lot of tips I hadn't seen on other channels, like wet the bag and use brushes to finish.

    Love your videos man!!
    The only thing my Dad would yell at me about is that one horizontal bed joint that runs all the way across. It’s a foot or 2 below the soffit. The old stone rules 2 over one and no bed joints longer than 3 stones or something like that is what he would be yelling .

    Yo mason I see all them asking why don’t you point it as you go. I do it the same way bro I lay all my stone and then I point everything when im done. I point really fast so it makes sense to me to do it all at once too. Also by the time im done laying stone for the day im getting in the truck and going home!!! You the man awesome work as always

    • @masonthemason6412
      @masonthemason6412  2 роки тому

      Yeah I like to think I’m faster this way lol. Right haha, I like to do everything at once. All the scratch coat, all the stone, then all the pointing. Thanks bro!

    Thanks for the video. Question: what is the product name of the 'stones' that you are using? I believe you mentioned in the video that they are concrete forms made to look like natural stone. Would love to find the 'stone' product you are using or something like it for an outdoor wall. Thanks again!

    What did you use or how did you mix that darker, pewter looking mortar you used? Is that straight out of a bag or did you add color to achieve that darker gray look? I am needing to grout a wall I made with field stone veneer but I am having trouble deciding on a good color to accent the stone. I tried a buff but it just looks bad and I really like the look you achieved with the mortar you used to grout in with.

      I used regular stone mortar. It dries white. You can buy bags of colored mortar at most brick places

    Hi Mason: Nice Video on Grouting a Stone Veneer Wall. I have a question I hope you can help me out with. I have a framed stone veneer chimney about 35' tall sitting against a 67 degree roof located in the mountains of NC. It is going to be really tough to get to, so I am building a wrap around scaffold all the way to the top for the re-pointing effort. The chimney is framed on the inside, OSB board overlay with lathing wire, then real stone on top. It is about 20 years old. The issue is it is leaking, badly. From the looks of it part of the problem was a poor grouting job in the first place, that was added to by a lack of maintenance, with a final issue of sloppy and poorly done repair. There are a lot of cracks, loose chunks, and soft areas you can rub out pretty easily. Anyway, any recommendations on preparing the chimney for the re-pointing process? Do I want to chisel out all the cracked areas? Do I need to use a grinder beyond the taking out what will come out with the chisel? And... what exactly is the mix I should be using to re-grout with; is there grouts that are waterproof (it rains a lot here on the mountain), or ones better for longevity, as I don't want to do this again. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You Lee

    I just had my full foundation done and finished wrapped with a waterproof membrane. I don't like the look of the membrane and would like to cover the foundation walls with stone veneer. My question is what would you suggest to put over the membrane to make a flat surface for the stone veneer.? The membrane comes up 1-2 feet above the ground surface. In other areas the membrane come up even higher. How can I cover all the foundation wall completely with stone veneer.?

      You have to tapcon wire lathe over all of it then put a scratch coat of mortar on the wire
