      Awesome stuff mate and good luck tomorrow I hope you get onto a couple.
      The jig bite is pretty cool a bit different to a more mobile lure presentation, much slower paced which im still getting used too.
      From what I have been told most Jig fish are of a better quality size wise.

    I’d highly recommend giving Dino lures pee wee spinnerbaits and there smaller spinnerbaits they also make mini chatter baits. There great prices as well and locally made in victoria they have great natural colours

    Do you think the cicadas need to be sounding (every 7yrs) for bass success with the cicada lures?

    • @fishermansoffice
      @fishermansoffice  Рік тому

      I don't think so mate.
      I think when there are alot of terrestrial insects around (Especially in warmer months) they will feed of the top regardless of cicada hatch or not.

      Always a bit rough coming off the back of being done by a couple man I know the feeling.
      What setup did you use like line/leader?
      Depending on where your fishing and what cover they are in it can be a good idea to upsize.
      Alot of the river stuff some of my mates do they are using 16lb fluro leader or even a tad more to help with abrasion resistance. Just as an extra security to allow putting more hurt on the fish and drag them out from their homes.

    • @markgs6941
      @markgs6941 2 роки тому

      @@fishermansoffice thanks heaps for your reply mate. I was using a very light setup this arv, zodiacs 2-5kg and vanford 2500. And my leader was obviously undercooked as well,
      They kept running for the cover, and snap.
      I will head your advise and take my BC setup with 15pound leader and mono next time.
      Always wanted to ask you bro is their a specific lure you throw for different times of day? And is early morning a good idea for bass or no? Chz

    • @fishermansoffice
      @fishermansoffice  2 роки тому +1

      Typically I have found numbers of fish in low light periods of the day so early morning or dusk. All of my Bass are from lakes here and the average size is smaller in the main lake I fish so it might be a bit skewed but I find lots of small ones with some decent ones mixed in at these times. So all in all fish activity is generally better at this time of the day.
      Middle of the day its a tough slog but I'm pretty determined on the water I fish most of the time so I tent to grind it out and this is where that one fish of the day pops up and by experience these fish are typically the best ones during the time where the sun is high I'm usually using a skirted jig putting it right in deep cover where they will likely be hiding. Whereas a chatterbait most other times when I'm search for more active fish in a general area.

    do you have trouble with the dobyns spin rods eyes getting bent all of a sudden

    • @fishermansoffice

      Hi Aidan,
      I have never had an eye bend on my dobyns sticks, they have been pretty much faultless in my experience.
      A few of my other rods have tho, my 13 envy black and Abu veritas rods have both bent eyes like cheese at various times haha.

    • @fishermansoffice
      @fishermansoffice  3 роки тому +1

      Hey mate thanks for watching, I have a find sports kayak which are one of the cheaper kayaks you can purchase.
      I would recommend finding a kayak that has a raised seat as it will keep you a little dryer and would also give a better body position for casting.
      These are things I overlooked when purchasing.

    Hi there, where do you camp? is there a caravan park or you can spend the night camping near the ramp? never been there and will like to go and try, thanks mate (:

    • @fishermansoffice
      @fishermansoffice  3 роки тому +1

      Hey mate thanks for the comment, there is not any van park that im aware of mate you could camp somewhere on the Tanjil River I have been informed recently that you cannot camp on the lake itself.
      The only other option I suppose could be a Motel in Moe which is about 20mins drive from the lake itself, not the best accommodation but depends on what your after i guess.
      Hope that helps mate.
