LOL good job George for standing up to Steve and his “let me stop you right there” interruptions. Let your guests speak, man!

And audiophile release of Lindsey Buckingham‘s first five solo albums would be brilliant asbrilliantly recorded and enough popular to be bankable.

Great stream & REALLY enjoyed the gear talk...always enjoy when VC channels mix gear & vinyl discussion. As per usual, the Roundtable does not disappoint, always learn something new. Also, loving the Marquee Moon RE/RM...next level job again by Rhino Hi-Fi.

Scottish, newby viewer of you guys, love the show.
I've had my Rega P3, Denon amp and B&W 603s since 2001 all imacculate and serving me well.
I upgraded the belt in 2005, fitted a couple of shims to raise the arm, and was using my prefered MP110 cartridge, which is sonically nicer to me on my system than ortofons, goldrings etc.
Though currently using an AT440mlb microline , it tracks like a bugger and is great at picking out detail, but I do miss that warm wrap around hugging sound of the MP110, will be getting another
I'm heading towards my 60s now, so I'm looking to get the Rega P8 upgrade to a newer amp as a treat to myself within the next couple of years when I hit the big 6 0.
I've never had any hum issues WITHBTHE RP3 till last year,
Rega's are earthed the wire is inside the arm and If it breaks its a sod to sort, but my issue was my Nagaoki MP110 body, once figured out ,I fitted my back up AT and all good, will get another MP110 soon.

Mazzy, you must let us know how you were able to solve the sibilance issue! I’ve been battling it myself and cannot figure it out for the life of me.

Love the in groove, but holding $$ hostage at time of pre-order is a bummer. Wishing that they could post the charge on ship date like AP, Amazon and most others. Not a big deal most of the time but paying for expensive preorders like Steely Dan UHQRs a year in advance seems like a missed interest opportunity for the buyer. That said, Ticket Bastard does this all the time with concert tickets.

Those Meta R3 are $3G's a pair. I have always liked KEF. They must be good from your's and Mazzy reaction to hearing them. BTW, a good example of how good Kevin's Marquee Moon mastering is on the track Guilding Light. Check out the drums, the sound of the cymbals etc. It's got a detailed tonal quality with the shrill. That track is a good example since it's arguably the best recorded song the record. I can hear Kevin's tube signal path in the overall sound is really good.

There are actually two versions of GOLDFINGER, the one recorded that you hear int he movie and a seance that was specifically released a s a single that is slightly different a recording and in arrangement that was released as a single. Whether they had the same exact musicians I do not know, but we'll have to find out.

It doesn’t matter how well you set up a turntable if a cartridge isn’t run in it will probably sound sibilant and weak at frequency extremes.
Running in TIME is the only thing to cure the sibilantS
    NOT set up 🤪

  • @thomashowe5256

The turntable should not be the source of the sibilance, it’s likely the cartridge, tracking force possibly , also have your guy check the azimuth. Steve let Mazzy know.
