The more I learn and listen to Persian music the more I find how it is similar to traditional Iraqi maqams and folk songs. Iraqis also use this rhythm in some of their music, such as in maqam dasht, awj, and Awshar. But it's really nice to see those two cultures influencing each other. Thank you very much!

Yes, there are some similarities. There definitely has been a lot of influence between them for many centuries.

6/8 is very common in Iranic cultures like Persian, Pashtun and Kurdish

Dear Navid i think the risha plays a big role in making the sound and good soft risha is better than others.
Did you make the risha you have by your self ? and how ?

I made this one out of the largest white cable ties from Home Depot. It took a very long time to sand down. The plastic is perfect as it is quite solid and doesn't wear much. You just find the right material, get some sandpaper and sand it to the shape you want.

Hi Mister ! I really love oud, and i want to start playing . I have absolutly no experience, could you advice me some books or other reference please ? I can't afford/have time for a personal coach . Thank you ! :)
I can read arabic, so an arabic book wouldn't be a problem.
Ps: i would love to see you play '' lamma bada yathatana '' if you ever have time.:))

Bro, please tell me, should I put guitar strings on this instrument if one or two are torn? Which ones can be replaced? Fifth, sixth?

Hi. I found an oud from thomann, and i was wondering whether you can tell if i should proceed in buying it or not. They say that the string action is normal.
