Nitin, I think of all the watercolor artist instructors I've followed on UA-cam, you do the best job of getting at the real and authentic problems that budding artists encounter. Others sort of dance around issues and simply demonstrate a painting, but you directly examine the apprehensions that painters experience wit the the mysterious and challenging medium. I'm really enjoying your videos, because they are a wellspring of advice and encouragement to me. Thank you so much!
Hello, I was having an extreme art block that lasted for maybe 2 years or more....but somehow the way you're enjoying what you're doing and just applying your imagination into a piece of paper has really encouraged me to start painting again. I'll no longer rely on pictures or try to make them as realistic as possible bc its simply not my level. from now on, ill paint to express myself and my feelings only... thank you so much for your inspiration!
I’ve done watercolors for years but a much more controlled, detailed style. Sometimes it had become stressful to get the painting just right. The most important lesion I take from your wonderful videos is your philosophy to be more relaxed and have more fun. Thank you for imparting this wisdom while you paint.
Nitin, I followed your videos and painted along with them when I was learning back in 2020. You were one of the first watercolor painter people I found on youtube. Today, years after starting painting I still enjoy your calm tone of voice and colorful paintings!
❤ thank you very much for this tutorial. I usually do tutorials with different artists, so I don’t end up copying a style. The wonderful thing with your tutorials is that you have this really free style. That is great to paint without fear, just paint and create art. Thank you for sharing your talent.
it's true watercolor is an amazing medium, I was probably introduced to it too young around four or five after already seeing paintings made with oil. so I was frustrated not getting that kind of coverage, now that I understand water color better it's a exciting medium for me now
I have used a lot of masking fluids and in the absence of that, just plain wax to avoid areas where I knew or suspected colour would bleed in. After the rest of the colours dried, I painted the areas over. I find this particularly helpful when I am doing open air painting workshops with students... and of course when I do open air painting by myself.
I have just gotten around to watching your videos again as I had taken a few years off from drawing/painting while getting through some difficult times with family etc. I am having to relearn to draw , spark my old muscle memory and practice every day. I like watching your vids even while doodling around. Your voice is relaxing to hear and the information you give helps technically as well as inspiring me to paint again. Thank you for the videos friend. You are a talented painter and teacher and I appreciate your sharing with us all.
Gosh! Three years on and so popular! Nitin, thank you so much for the tip about the fear! That was what I really needed. I was painting my still life and watching this video, hesitating to use open colour and more water. That moment you said THAT. And I put a stroke of bright colour on wet paper... And it was beautiful! I just appreciate your knowledge...
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a beautiful painting! Your encouraging words are greatly appreciated and helps to take away the pressure! Thank you!!
Really like that loose style however you are so right about trying to stop ones self from further action! Thanks Nitin, I will be watching many more as I would like to try a water color after 50 years away from it. I paint in acrylic.
I do hyper realism and need to learn to just relax and do free brush strokes like you when on vacation. Thank you for sharing and teaching me that art can be stress free 😊
Your style and technique is so gorgeous! Thank you for encouraging and reminding us to leave white.

Thank you for posting these tips! Absolutely beautiful ! I hope to get better at feeling the colors too. I have a 366 Day creative challenge, starting from 0 experience, so seeing your work encourages me to go on! Thank you very much!
Thanks Nitin. Love your tips, style and artwork. I paint very occasionally but everytime your videos helps me get over my fear and just go and start painting.
Please, Nitin, just as advice for viewers, give at the end a full view of image done, alone, full screen... much better for us to appreciate ! ; ) Thx.
After a long time I saw someone guide through this style of painting and drawing, thank you! I laughed along too, such an indepth and playful explanation. 😊 Relaxed me into my art. 🙏
Lovely sketch Nitin! Love the way you put the shadow of the temple in reverse to the light direction. It works really well somehow! Your loose style is inspiring.
Thanks. I love your loose style. Very Impressionistic. I am a fan of ink sketches with watercolour washes. I notice when drawing your pencil rarely leaves the paper until you've finished.
Stress free/relax/enjoy... So hard to do in watercolor... YOU do it so beautifully....and BRILLIANTLY! Love your style! Thank you so much!!! Aloha from Hawai'i!
Hello Nitin, Thank you for your wonderful watercolour approach and discussion on your approach, I think that I understand where your influences come from but you are painting what is relevant and local to your area which I really love, so that helps to make you unique and true to your self which is great. Thank you for you have also inspired me to actually post on to you tube at long last. Keep doing what you are doing for with out UA-cam I would never have known about you.
HI Nitin! I am an absolute Beginner in Watercolorpainting. But for me it was clear, that you are a absolute perfect Painter. Your painting an the Results of your Art are amazing! Your Style is fantastic! I hope that i can catch just a glimse of it in Future! Thank you for your Lessons! Sorry for my bad english. Greatings from Germany! Peace an best Wishes!
Nitin! Thank you so much you share your huge knowledge, you inspire me to make more and more watercolor art. I love your videos because they are simply but at the same time all of them are beautiful. Best wishes and good health for you.
Love your work, but above all, I love your advice to RELAX!!!! Because of your advice, from now on, when the urge to add something comes, I will tell myself: UUUUUMMMMMM. Thank you
Beautiful work and great tips for beginners no doubt. I want to share some problem which happens always with me that when i started paint with watercolor ,all is well till first layer and sometime till second too.but final result of my painting is not satisfied.because as soon as i got final result then i think there is some extra work on my painting and realized that beauty of painting is lost, it looks like a cartoon picture even when it is a good work.Perhaps, as you said, it is necessary to have a little relax.
Thank you for this post. I liked following along and experiencing the sepia, and ultramarine interaction. I never used only these two colors and I’m glad I did as you said and let fear out the door. Very cathartic.
Wow! Wonderful! I let myself paint with you! I'm just learning to paint with watercolors but the effect I got is great! And all thanks to you! I'm glad that I found your channel, I will check back more often! Greetings from Poland!
My first time to find and watch your video. Thank you so much! I learned a lot and i got more inspired. Also, you made me smile a lot of times. You are blessed with wonderful skills and a jolly personality. God bless.
Absolutely wonderful First time watching you paint and how very talented you are. Thank you very much. I am a beginner and will look for you for inspiration.
Second video I have watched of yours. Love the looseness, the abstract, the ease of your approach; I can only hope to get a miniscule of this someday. Thank you
I love the overall feel of the painting. I'm not sure the shadow of the mosque would fall on the second building in that manner, it seems too high up and not at the same angle as the people. But again, overall a nice watercolor.
Love your work. Good tutorial. I did not understand where the large shadow came from since the light was coming from the right of the painting, but thank you for sharing your talent. Also, thank you for not having horrible "music" which most art videos for some reason have.
Amazing! I was wondering what paper and watercolor you are using. If you are from India, I find that you all have wonderful watercolor paper, but sad to say we can not always get it in the USA. Thank you for sharing your God given talent with us!

Holy crap! How did you do that? I have been working with watercolor for quite a while but I can't relax the way you do. Your work is amazing!
