Criminally underrated artist and shows how far we've fallen with music in recent years. If you look at some of the names that take all of the accolades and top spots in charts etc...and then look at the auto tune talentless music they put out, when compared with Gregory Porter... it's grossly unfair. Gregory Porter is living in the wrong time. He would have been a king of music 20/30/40 years ago. His voice is outstanding..and it's so effortless. He makes some of todays more popular artists look like frauds. Just doesn't seem to be about the music anymore. When an artist like this has an estimated net worth of $3 million dollars, and an artist like Drake has an estimated net worth of $250 million dollars...something's very wrong.

This is true illustration of the gift of playing the piano. I know because my father played like this. He was a master piano tuner as well. He tuned for all the greats...Andre Watts, Ferrante & Teicher and more, when they came to town. What I will tell you is that if you ever have the opportunity to see Gregory in concert, don’t miss it! I was captivated along with the rest of the audience at his concert at the Cape May Jazz Festival a couple of years ago. I had the opportunity to meet him in person in the lobby after the concert and have the CD and tee shirt Inpurched autographed, as well as have my picture taken with him. I also witnessed him sing a song to a woman in a wheelchair...a song that she expressed that she wanted to hear that he hadn’t sang that night. He stayed in the Libby until just about all the concert attendees left. I can tell you that he is a kind, true gentleman...

Went to see him live he sang Take Me to the Alley for like 12 minutes and I cried the whole time. , just something in his voice form God, his voice makes you want to be a better person.
I would always imagine him singing to me during the highs and lows in my life, in a little jazz bar that I would visit regularly. I'd be a good listener to his music, and he'd too be an observer in my life... without the need to say a word. Just jazz. Yes, greeting me every late night with a nod of the head without anyone else noticing. A quite old friend that I'd always visit. Oh Mr. Porter, I wish someday you would consider having a tour around Asian countries. Please.

Who used to entertain us in the evening on the front porch with his guitar. Your voice and your facial hair look so much like him. He has gone on. The sweetest melody I know? I was born in the U.K. bur reside in Canada. Will listen to you often on UA-cam. My favourite singers are Cleo Laine, Shirley Bassey, Lou Rawls, Oscar Brown Jnr, Matt Monroe and Angeline Jordan when she sings Billie Holiday. Thank you for your talent.

OMG...‘he’s one of my mom’s favorite jazz artists...saw him At Howard Theatre the year before my mom passed with her..! She almost jumped off the balcony!lol. Thank you fo him an his music for putting smiles on my mom’s face and being able to enjoy his music with her! Amazing talented artist! Thank you for your gift!!

This is true illustration of the gift of playing the piano. I know because my father played like this. He was a master piano tuner as well. He tuned for all the greats...Andre Watts, Ferrante & Teicher and more, when they came to town. What I will tell you is that if you ever have the opportunity to see Gregory in concert, don’t miss it! I was captivated along with the rest of the audience at his concert at the Cape May Jazz Festival a couple of years ago. I had the opportunity to meet him in person in the lobby after the concert and have the CD and tee shirt Inpurched autographed, as well as have my picture taken with him. I also witnessed him sing a song to a woman in a wheelchair...a song that she expressed that she wanted to hear that he hadn’t sang that night. He stayed in the Libby until just about all the concert attendees left. I can tell you that he is a kind, true gentleman...

Absolutely beautiful...every single note. Awestruck. Take Me to the Alley is mesmerizing! Same with Harlem . Wowzer. I saw this band in 2017 I think, in New York city. Drive 400 miles one way. I sat in the nosebleed section of Town Hall. I love Gregory's voice, the pianist,the bass, the drums, the trumpet player was different then. This person here on this live show is spellbinding. Went to see him live he sang Take Me to the Alley for like 12 minutes and I cried the whole time. , just something in his voice form God, his voice makes you want to be a better person.
I would always imagine him singing to me during the highs and lows in my life, in a little jazz bar that I would visit regularly. I'd be a good listener to his music, and he'd too be an observer in my life... without the need to say a word. Just jazz. Yes, greeting me every late night with a nod of the head without anyone else noticing. A quite old friend that I'd always visit.
Oh Mr. Porter, I wish someday you would consider having a tour around Asian countries. Please.
