This is so true. I used to work 14 hour days for a few years when I was younger and slowly realized that it wasn't worth it. Eventually switched to a slower paced job and now I have more time to focus on health, family, friends and hobbies. Do you really think that the best option is to be in the office for 1 hour just to get free food when you can take advantage of that time to go home, relax, eat something you have prepared beforehand or order delivery or even cook and then continue with the job?
You remind me of me, ha ha! When I’m out flying 747’s all over the world that’s actually my time for rest and relaxation. And I have to force that upon myself - it’s very important that I always show up very well rested and ready to fly. Even small physiological issues such as slight fatigue, dehydration, etc. will turn into noticeably degraded cockpit performance. But when I’m at home that’s when I’m dealing with my commercial and industrial properties. And that’s when I become an “eight hour worker” - eight hours in the morning followed by eight hours in the afternoon. And that’s on an easy day. There have been times when I’ve painted, done electrical work, or worked on other miscellaneous tasks for more than 40 hours straight. Crazy as it sounds - I actually enjoy that sort of thing!
I'm in my early 20's and it's so interesting to see the grindset that goes on in other industries. I think grinding is great if you have the energy and tenacity for it, but for me, I recognized early on that I just don't have that in me. I'm still stressed and I'm certainly not making as much as an investment banker, but I'm glad I found a job that matches my stress level. I think if I stepped foot on a sales floor I'd break out in hives 😅

at least you have a lot of money. because if I was a Invesment banker I'll probably be a millionaire, with a couple of years. I mean you work so much you don't really have time to spend your money.
funny thing is that - on average - all the long hours you sweat to make money for your bank's investments, balance exactly with the long hours sweated by another banker on the opposite side of the market who is losing his shirt in the meantime
gurl, i thought my work life is busy and cursing the hell out of people who add more unnecessary work and drama for me while you here work almost round the clock. i hope you take good care of your health too! great video, nonetheless :)
You're ruining your health without realizing it. The hours you work are just insane. There are more things to life than job titles or acquiring goods and services. You're on the fast track to develop a burnout and possibly other stress related illnesses. Additionally, as you're aware, the law of diminishing returns states that every additional work hour is going to yield weaker results. Don't do this to yourself, for both your mental and physical health. You need time to socialize, rest and enjoy life.

You don’t work 100 hours per week. I worked in this business for 25 years. All these people like to say they work 100-120 hours per week. NOT TRUE !!! This doesn’t happen! Get out while you’re still young. This business will drain your soul.
There extreme hours for sure , but ehat you showed is approximately 18 hours, maybe it's just terrible time management and inefficiency of working when appropriate
❤This is very different and inspring work in my day video. Seems like you have to work all day…I love a smart and hardworking woman. I hope they pay you extra overtime hrs…I worked in Sale Retail everyday sold couple Millions Dollar by myself for the company but not get rewarded no promotion at all. never called a day off in 8 years. Hope you will find your new work balance and hours will be done by 7 or 8pm..Its illegal for them to buy food you food and not pay your overtime $.
You will get to a point where you realize that the money is not worth the time trade-off. I also work in the finance industry, and after 20 years, make around 500k. Obviously that sounds like a lot to most people, but it is the kind of amount an investment banker can make after 3 or 4 years. Honestly say that it’s been several years since any pay increase made any material difference to my life. If You are doing this because you have a well-defined plan to make a lot of money and get out early and good luck to you, just make sure you don’t get too accustomed to that income because lifestyle creep is very real. That being said it feels like yesterday that I was in my 20s, your time is your most valuable resource. Do you really want to give it away? There are plenty of jobs in the finance world don’t require 80 hour weeks.
when i feel down or burnt out i like to talk it out with my colleagues, who are basically going through the same things i am. reflecting on what I've achieved and focusing on my next goal helps push me forward. i like to think of banking as a good stepping stone and stamp of proof of my work ethic and abilities - and hope that one day it'll help me exit into another career!
You forgot the part where you’re sitting around for 4 hours doing nothing (or pretending you’re working) while waiting for the MD to pass down work 😂. Oh man, I do not miss the IB world at all. I leaned a lot in 5 years but so much time is wasted doing meaningless work. Good video though 😊
Looks like every work person in every country seems same : bad and long commute , uber at best , live in a studio or apartment which is a cluster, Uber eats or take outs , non-stopping typing , PPT/ words spreadsheet , sneaky coworkers, on top of that , low pay that can keep u not die but never live well . Why work ppl are giving birth ? Is there to much to expect from this kind modern slavery life ?
I really like your videos and I think you should upload more IB videos ! I wanted to ask if you are someone who wants to get into IB and secured a role , would it be possible to commute 60 minutes away from a bank ( there and back ) or would that be too much ? Love the videos by the way !
Tell me who you work for so I can short them. I work on tech side of a Bank and have more fucked up schedule. For first year I literally forgot to have breakfast and lunch.
So funny the little tricks they use to keep you later hours. Food after 6 and uber after 8. These people really are strategic

When you venture into the world of financial investment, it's important to understand some foundational principles
It simply means the allocation of money toward an asset or portfolio, with the expectation of earning a return over time.
Yes, It a procedure where you allocate money or capital towards buying financial products, expecting to earn a considerable return in the future.
According to Patricia strain an expert, this can occur through appreciation in the price of the asset, earning interest, dividends or royalties.

How? What are you doing?🥲
As a consultant I can relate to her schedule finally some real stuff
대단하십니다...너무너무 멋있어요 항상 힘내시고 건강 챙기세요!!
이 영상 한국 커뮤니티에서 돌아서 찾아보러 왔어요! 열심히 사시는 거 멋져요... 본받고 싶습니다😊
13 years in Investment Banking in London. I loved it, Goldman Sachs
It was so fun to watch actually more like this pls❤
I was fascinated with the comp packages of IB and I almost did my MBA recruiting to pivot into Wall Street. But it just didn't excite me enough. I ended up going consulting instead. It's interesting to see the day in the life though.
Wow, the way you use your hand to scan into your building is crazy! Does it read your finger prints that quickly?
wow you have a good work ethic. im lazy unlike you , but atleast this can inspire me to be more dilligent haha. im 21 and going to start a 3 yr course after quitting studying something else before
Haha I also have days where I’m really lazy and unmotivated 🥲 it’s all about balance! Good luck on whatever you pursue 😌
you gave me kinda good inspiration but at the same time I felt like you have to focus on your work girl, you will be like that soon so keep working.
Little advice don’t check your emails of the second you open your eyes giving yourself at least 30 minutes
with all respect - where are client calls? where are suite and tie since you work in front office? i'm also an investment banker and 80% of my work day is going with client calls - always be prospecting and always be closing.
Subtract the gym time and meal breaks and its more like a 10 hour work day.
Hey, this video is very helpful. Thank you so much for making this.😊
Thank you. Inspired me to recruit banking 😊
New subscriber as of 10/23/23. I will remember this day in the future when you reach your 100K 😊 It seems like I am # 7240. All the best wishes from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 🤗
I like how background is playing sports like a ESPN studio 😅
You don’t work 100 hours per week. I worked in this business for 25 years. All these people like to say they work 100-120 hours per week. NOT TRUE !!! This doesn’t happen! Get out while you’re still young. This business will drain your soul.
You’re making the big bucks…I wouldn’t expect anything less.
Hi angie what do you do exactly at work?? Like what’s your title?
is this what you do daily ? your working 12 to 14 hours a day right ? are there any holidays like in Saturdays and Sundays
yeah nah Angie.. I went through this. You need to give yourself some personal time, this will wreck you. Quit working yourself to death.
Nice video! This is very helpful for people who interested to be the IB 🏦
Hey , cool video!
I'm thinking about getting into this career path.
How much is the annual pay and does it require a lot of sales?
Shows 99% day in life like everyone else casual stuff, 1% actual footage of day life as an Investment Banker in NYC
Thinkpad, yes...best keyboard for me
Hello, can i ask what course you're taking back in college days? And how old are you na po? Btw I love your vids!❤
@7:44 have you ever considered shutting off the water while you're brushing your teeth?
I watched your videos and loved it. Also, it's my dream to be an investment banker as I am pursuing CFA as a level 3 candidate.
thank you! and good luck!!
thank you!🥰@@angies_listt
Thank you for sharing your valuable life!
I want to stay in NY for work someday
Hope joyful life~~
전 5시간자는데...하루왠종일 토할것같고 머리아픈데 대단하시네요 진짜..
This is crazy depending on the salary. What is the salary to be working from 9am-midnight every day?
avg. first year salary for ib ranges from 100K-115K i'd say? then bonus is probably somewhere from 30%-60% of base salary
@Life with Angie i gotta ask how are you an investment banker and only 23yrs old i thought it takes more than that where did you go to college?
Be glad u don’t farm we work 16 hour days sometimes 3 weeks straight all the time
The IB folks I know worked 9-5! That 9AM to 5AM.
That's too much work. You know it is. I hope this isn't everyday
Don’t need to study anything for this
What keeps your motivated to work these long hours?
Probably the salary and after a few years she will probably move to a position with less hours and good compensation
when i feel down or burnt out i like to talk it out with my colleagues, who are basically going through the same things i am. reflecting on what I've achieved and focusing on my next goal helps push me forward. i like to think of banking as a good stepping stone and stamp of proof of my work ethic and abilities - and hope that one day it'll help me exit into another career!
300k salary 💀
@@adolforomero9611 That's light in NY.
$$$
really like it, much more busy than IT
I love your videos!!:D
What newsletters do you read as an Investment Banker?
Is this really compliant with investment bank's policy? As far as I know, this type of video recording the office is not allowed.
This looks horrible I am so sorry for you even if you make a lot of money not being able to live your life sounds horrible
What bag do you use for work? 😊
Man you need to be besties with that girl from Meta who grabs a snnaackkk alwez!
Really relaxing vibe and vlog style🩷
awww thank youuu
You forgot the part where you’re sitting around for 4 hours doing nothing (or pretending you’re working) while waiting for the MD to pass down work 😂.
Oh man, I do not miss the IB world at all. I leaned a lot in 5 years but so much time is wasted doing meaningless work.
Good video though 😊
This looks horrible
Looks like every work person in every country seems same : bad and long commute , uber at best , live in a studio or apartment which is a cluster, Uber eats or take outs , non-stopping typing , PPT/ words spreadsheet , sneaky coworkers, on top of that , low pay that can keep u not die but never live well . Why work ppl are giving birth ? Is there to much to expect from this kind modern slavery life ?
lol that's Goldman Sachs. I was there for a couple years as a strat. A lot of SecDB coding but it was a good exp for me!
I really like your videos and I think you should upload more IB videos ! I wanted to ask if you are someone who wants to get into IB and secured a role , would it be possible to commute 60 minutes away from a bank ( there and back ) or would that be too much ?
Love the videos by the way !
Thank you!!
@@angies_listt thank you soo much ! I hope you keep uploading your content in unreal !!
Bruh! Your life span would be 42 yrs with this amazing work-life balance. 🤨🤨
Tell me who you work for so I can short them. I work on tech side of a Bank and have more fucked up schedule. For first year I literally forgot to have breakfast and lunch.
