It’s been two years ago this week that I was on a flight for the last time, used to fly many times per year. The engine sound completely brings back the flying experience to me. The footage of downtown Dallas is simply spectacular!
They are pretty decent. Especially north flow into DAL passing downtown. South flow is intriguing too. On the base leg you can look out, see the field and look down the runway just a few miles out before turning final.
Oh man, even just the last five years or so, it’s blown up. The American Airlines Center is dwarfed by towers and garages on all sides now. And for some reason the new Parkland Hospital reminds me of an AT-AT from a distance 😂
Dallas has a lot of big buildings and a maze of freeways but there is no sense of place there. It’s just in the middle of nothing. I guess that’s what makes it what it is.
The Metroplex is very large and fairly well laid out. At least our highway system runs in uniform directions. I wish it wasn’t the fastest (or one of) growing metro area in the country but unfortunately it is.
@@AListFlierKris DFW area has some of the most confusing freeway systems, to be found anywhere, and the most crooked roads you could imagine. It makes no sense…the DFW area is flat and almost completely void of any geographical features but yet it has these winding crooked roads, no grid pattern at all. Strange place.

Beautiful approach. And wow, the north side of downtown has really grown since I was last there in 2008.

Nicely done.
At first I thought I was watching Skylite Productions. Well done, mate!
Thank you! That’s quite a compliment.
