Great Tent Review, but equally important is the Lymes Disease warning in the 'comments'. Nothing to fear. Not every tick bite leads to Lymes Disease. So just check daily if you can. Then remove them daily, using tweezers ( Swiss Army Kife mini tweezers do if nothing else avaliable) to remove tick including head without squeezing tick body. Ticks / Lymes... just an outdoor hazard like bad weather and challenging terrain. Kerp eye out for ringed 'bullseye' reaction seek treatment ASAP if that reaction develops. Risks CAN be managed. 👍
Thanks again Andrew, looking like I may add this one. Was out with the Nastrugi for the summer solstice coastal camp and picked up some ticks and ended up on antibiotics to counteract Lymes disease, yip got a buls eye reaction, first in73 years, so everyone camping and walking, be Tick aware!!!!
I've just taken delivery of one and initial impressions reflect what you have said to the tee. I have done the same with the groundsheet tied to peg connectors and lifting the inner a little as well. The opposition was going to be a tunnel tent, so this is a lot more appropriate for my use of motorbike touring where I'm not counting the last few grammes, but do want somewhere for my kit and space to move on a wet evening. The stability looks good as I do like a campsite by the sea / up a hill and pack size is fine for putting in a pannier as well. Even the pegs look okay, but I have got some Ti nails for hard ground and can also be spares if needed. I did enquire if they had a groundsheet, but apparently not in the plans. Pity as that makes touring a bit easier when the kit's getting muddy. Hopefully they will do one before long. As for quality, I think it's good for the price point. Anyway, top review - thanks!
Hi Andrew, big fan of your channel. You provide reviews in the depth of detail that I find nobody else does. I think this will be my next tent purchase. Much appreciated.
@@AndrewParkOutdoorsAh! I’ve had a look online and tiso have it at 10% off (£270). It’s the right pack size for me and appears to do everything I need it to!
I love mine. It’s the only tent I own right now (one on the way though). I put some plastic clips on the TBS cords and store them in the roof pockets when not in use 👍
Good review .i would probably have bought this tent if i didnt have way too many as is .1.8 kg is great for a 2 man .think my vango krypton is around 2.2 with its foot print .
Thank you for all of your vids on the Nexus, felt I was really well informed before placing my order. I've been a Vango fan for ages and wanted an alternative to my loved but tired Hydra and something more windy stable than the Nature hike. Took the Nexus with me down to Dartmoor for a few days. While the weather wasn't extreme the Nexus didn't budge on the tors and hugs the ground like a Limpet. I did have concerns with height and porch space for cooking but with the tips you have suggested all was great for 6ft me. Loads of internal space for 1 person, genuinely big enough for 2. Cheers Andrew!
Love or loath this tent (I like it alot), there is no denying vango represents an extremely positive presence in the outdoor community (here in the UK at least). Long may they continue to do so. Out of curiosity Andrew, do you have it written in your will that you wish to buried with or in your favourite tent, the last act of a true tentaholic😂
Just purchased one at £245 although most retailers are asking £300 or even more. Haven't used it in anger yet, but have done a couple of mods, still need some para cord inside. Hopefully it'll see me through the next few year's.
@Peter, how do you find the Pioneer? I just picked one up having previously owned a Nexus. The internal space was generous, probably a little more than I need in reality, head height was average too. I did find it very capable in the wind though. I'm a little concerned that with 25" pad in the Pioneer it may be a little cramped - can you comment?
Thanks for this update - not many reviews around yet, which is surprising as it looks like a great value tent - sort of a mid point between the Wild Country Helm and Terra Nova Pioneer, but lighter than both. Been thinking about getting this for solo bike touring in uk and Europe, and occasional 2 person use. Looks like it ticks almost all the boxes 👍
Thanks Andrew... A very useful and helpful review... One question...you mentioned having to tighten certain bunjee cords.... how do you physically do that.. i can't visualise how.. Would love to know how you do that... Thanks in anticipation of your answer in due course...
It’s crazy that years ago Vango did the F10 Nitro 200 Lite at 1.4kgs…..I still have it along with the plus at 1.76kgs…….it is mad by today’s standards how light these tents were….they even had their own lighter footprints. Nearly had a video on the F10 Xenon UL Air but weather turned nasty for filming 🙄 I need to do a video on all the Nitros as I have them all
Great review Andrew, thanks for the practical suggestions for making it more usable. I'm just wondering if there is scope to use a trekking pole with an extra guy line to hold out the door if cooking in the porch?
Good question and something I was looking at. You need to tie cord to the door fastening buckle and then you could loop it over a pole etc. I've been thinking on doing the same. In fact if you make the tbs cord detachable you could prob use the same cord to hold the door when required. A
Haha, no probs. They are Salomon x-adventure. Not as chunky as xa pro's but lighter and nimble, prob better suited to less tech trails and or more running. A
👍😁 Good honest review Andrew. I have the vango f10 helium ul 1p and used it for wildcamping for the last 2 years. As I get older creeky and less nimble as I was. The F10 2p with the extra head room and space inside looks like an ideal upgrade for me. I tend not to venture out if the forecast is for very strong winds. But to be fare the little ul 1p holds its own really well.. I would how ever recommend a footprint to help with condensation etc . Great review and at only 1.8 kls it's actually not that much heavier than 1p helium.. 😁
Bought mine after your positive feedback and couldn't be happier. As you say there's a few minor niggles but for the spec and price you can't go wrong. Cheers 🙏

Oh jeezus, I got same a year ago after hundreds of bites, to be fair the anti biotics made me feel crap but you can't take chances ! A
Great job! Not a syllable wasted, in 9 minutes you have distilled the nature of the tent. I like it very much.

Good review Andrew. I'm currently using a Pioneer 2, and this looks like a cheaper but very comparable alternative. Well worth a look.
Always liked the look of the Pioneer 2 but never seen one in the flesh :-)

been fancying this tent, think you have made my mind up
Looks like a good buy - thanks for a thorough review 👍
Great review!
Cheers David, all ok with you ?

Brilliant. Hope santa brings me one
It does look good... it olso looks shorter than it actually is... nice video. Take care out there.

Hi, they are just knotted so I untied the knot and re knotted them so the elastic has a shorter loop ( if that makes sense )?

Wish I could actually order anything from Vango here in the US.
I think they are missing an opportunity there !
Great review Andrew, I'm about to buy one. One question, how tall are you? Cheers, Graham

Looks great tent. Would think be a good tent for something just start out in wild camping?? Or do you guy in comments have any other suggestion??
Absolutely, I'd recommend to anyone .
@@AndrewParkOutdoors Great 👍 thank you Andrew 🙏
I like it but do you prefer the f10 helium or that one ? They seem to be quite similar.
Deffo this for the width, strength and two porches . A
