I live here in Southwest Georgia.I work for a company called specialty sales. The man that started that company is the man that invented the twin Row planner Steve spooner
Wanted to try twin rows years ago, friend said it would never work, wanted to put two 494a one planter behind one off set 3-4 in. with 36 in rows. Never did try
I bought AutoSteer 7 years ago. I had a field of soybeans hailed as they started to emerge. I replanted 6" off the row and ended up with a twin row stand that out grew my insurance. The next year, I planted twin row corn at 36k, but one pass I didn't turn off the fertilizer pump on the planter. That pass made 40 bushels better. The next year I owned a twin row planter and upped my fertilizer program. Yields have risen steadily, now we're about 40-60 bushels above where we used to be on corn, and 10-20 bushels better on soybeans.
