Enjoyed your remarks about cultivating. We did that and the cultivator had these very spiffy arched covers that went over the developing plants. And -- one of the high points of my life -- one day my Dad let me run the tractor and do a bit of it when I was around 13 or 14. Don't see too many of those ammonia tanks out in the fields anymore. Either they are doing the liquid stuff, or they are taking the tank back to lock it up. Meth makers and all that.
No doubt the meth has killed the ammonia business for some farmers. I'm told told some areas of the country can no longer get ammonia because of too much theft and or damage done.
Joe Kersey anhydrous tanks are everywhere here in south central Indiana despite the significant meth problem. Farmer not far from me used an Allis Chalmers 440 for anhydrous
They have been planting twin row peanuts here in south Georgia since the late 70's or early 80's. Covington made a plate type planter that was set up for twin rows. Monosem came up with their vacuum planters and they have taken over the market down here for planting twin row peanuts since the early 2000's. John Deere has one on the market now.
A very informative presentation about NH3 being applied to twin row corn. I will be curious to see how twin row corn gets harvested come this fall. Thanks for showing.
I have never taken a decibel measurement to know for sure but if they are not as quiet I would say they would be close. At least thats my opinion just running different makes of tractors.
Mike Less no problem, keep up the awesome videos! I bleed green lol but i really do enjoy your videos and admire the quality equipment that versatile puts out... i personally think its improved since CNH sold it off

@nellsonstout7001 I've got a neighbor that puts on anhydrous with an AC 7580 or 8550. I don't know my allis chalmers much so I'm not sure which

Nice video
Is this the 1st time for twin rows - if not what' s the yield last year
How quiet are these tractors on the inside working at full engine speed??...just as quiet as the masseys or deeres???

Sorry if my question sounds dumb, but why does he skip a row each pass ?
Spoutnik Mox the outside shank is double hosed to give it twice as much for both outside rows.
Thanks Tim for answering. You beat me to the punch.
