Your video's commentary about their mobile app was useless. Sam's Club app allows customers to check themselves out with the app without entering a checkout line. Costco does not have that, therefore the wait to check out is horrendous at Costco. You never mentioned that and instead blathered hot air about how the percentage of app users was increasing bla, bla bla. AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT CREATING A SHOPPING LIST OR HOW MANY PEOPLE USE THE APP! HOW ABOUT CUSTOMER SELF SERVICE CHECKOUT - something that HELPS the customer! ??? The only purpose of a Mashed video about Costco is to splice in "Fresh off the Boat" scenes.
Not just seniors need seating at the food court, families with young children too! Can’t tell you how often we have fed our children there after shopping. Personally it’s a nice way to rest after pushing a heavy cart around the store.
Agreed. My family often gets a hot dog or slice of pizza before shopping. If seating goes away, then you’ll see a lot of kids sitting in carts eating pizza.
that's the point. retail space is expensive; their customers already have places to sit :) food-seating does not increase store-revenue, or so we'll see.
@@Sarahpurcell8I think it will cause them to lose money removing seating. Ignoring seniors by going with just standing customers is not a positive at all.
@@Peace-nb5lm I quit Costco after it became too corporate. Such a shame, I loved my job and I loved working there, but the new CEO sucks. Management has become incompetent on every level due to poor hiring habits and an incredible amount of nepotism. Store GMs are all complacent and enjoying a cushy job without putting in the work. And the promotion process is extremely messed up, too much to type here. One of my very good friends used to work for the corporate office (she also quit with the changing work culture). She once fell asleep for two hours, and no one in the corporate office noticed. After she woke up, she went to a meeting where the corporate office decided they were working extremely hard and efficiently, but the hourly workers in all the stores have become too lazy…. Costco really needs a new, better, CEO. It’s reached a point where they can no longer be trusted as a company the way their members used to trust them.
@@Peace-nb5lmI priced auto insurance through Costco (executive) membership; saved more than the annual membership. Price-shop insurance ever 2 years or so & can't find better pricing.
My only complaint with Costco is that they open too late in the morning, ours opens at 10:00 AM, I'm sure there's a lot of early risers that would appreciate 8 AM
Way back in the early days if you had a business acct membership you could shop between 8-10, if I remember correctly. Then it was open for the general public at 10. I think they should go back to that with certain memberships.
Back during the pandemic days they were opening like around 9 am to let seniors and people with certain disabilities shop. I tried going. I'm young but my immune system is compromised due to a heart transplant. They wouldn't let me in which sucked but at least some people got to shop early. They had the resources to open an hour early due to the pandemic so I don't see why they can't do it regularly.
Seniors need the seats in the food court. Not everyone can stand up to eat after walking through the warehouse. Costco also NEEDS more HANDICAP parking. It’s impossible to find handicap parking unless you’re there before the warehouse opens. Instead of worrying about churros and cookies, pay attention to what your customers need.
Ordering food to go may be what they hope you will do. Forget the customer, anything for the convenience of the seller these days, ever since the whole covid thing.
A lot of places in NYC are like that. Standing tables at best. It's understandable there because it's a densely populated area with sky high rent/lease prices so moving people in and out as quickly as possible makes sense. I see it backfiring for Costco because there's a lot of shoppers that like to make a day out of it. They go around for samples, get a meal, and load up. If they feel rushed or badgered they won't be as eager to go.
My husband and I aren't disabled, but we have 2 toddlers and a baby on the way. The seating allows us to shop, eat, then head out. No seating would make the food court a no go.
Just left my Costco and stopped by the food court on the way out. About 20 people surrounding the kiosk to pay with a card and I walked up and paid for my hot dog with two dollar bills. I got my food instantly while everyone was standing around with a ticket waiting on their order. Some girl glared at me with daggers coming out of her eyes. Thank you Costco for still accepting cash!
When a cash order is taken if there is a line of tickets waiting to be filled it gets set in the ticket line and called out as a cash order. No line skippers @ our location.
What about Scan and Go so you can scan the products with your phone and pay on your phone and not have to wait in line. This is literally the only reason I shop at Sam’s because I don’t have time to wait in the long lines at Costco.
I wish that they would do that but Costco is the worst company when it comes to technology. Their simple app barely works for the few things that it does. They have delivery but they can't even implement it onto their app so they had to partner with instacart to do all the tech work for them. Walmart is kicking their ass in that field and they are growing like crazy.
Well, there's people who would never install their app, nor ever want any payment information on a device easily lost or stolen. For me: I go in, buy the few things I need and pay cash... no phone needed and yes, I do have the time for a checkout lane because I don't spend 5 hours a day on Instagram.
I’m surprised Costco hasn’t even done curbside pickup. Sometimes my wife and I will just order what we want from Sam’s Club and then pick a time to pick it up.
I talked to them years ago about common feeder lines and they were completely uninterested and that would cost the like $100/store to implement. So, no, they certainly aren’t going to spend $125k on a kiosk section.
Sheet cakes are still available, except an order has to be placed a day in advance. They need a day advance because the cakes are freshly made and needs time to cool before decorating.
I definately agree the seating in the Food Court is very very important . Also, as a "one" person shopper they need to have security around the Food Court as I have had expensive items stolen from my trolley whilst ordering the food where you have to leave your trolley aside. The ridiculous lines and delays for checkout as seen in parts of this video are by far to normal wherever the Costco I shop in various parts of the world and need to be focussed on for improvement.
Honestly, Costco taking away sitting tables at food courts at all locations making them standing only is like an ADA lawsuit or something waiting to happen 🤷♀️ I honestly think they should keep the tables and chairs. There’s elderly and disabled people too that cannot stand for long periods.
People need to have a seat to eat. Especially if they have health issues. When you get done shopping you are ready to have a snack and sit down and rest.
How many grocery stores have seating for people to eat food? Not many I mean other than Costco kind of none unless they specifically have a restaurant like some Whole Foods Markets do. Where they actually serve hot food and then you can go sit and eat. But most don’t I guess I could eat my dollar 50 hotdog and drink in the car but it is kind of nice to sit down.
Well, I have been a Costco member about 2 years now. I have not been that impressed with their offerings during that time except for the discount I get at their gas station on fuel. In November 2023, I bought a basic membership to Sam's Club for $15 which was probably a annual membership drive they run each year. The membership gives me all the access I need/want from a warehouse wholesaler. If Costco raises the cost of their basic $60 membership well, I know who will be getting the axe from my shopping experience. 😁
I like Costco but the Sam’s plus membership absolutely kills the executive membership. I already renewed my Sam’s plus membership and will either downgrade or cancel my Costco membership.
Your slowly burning a bridge Costco…I just got my yearly spending refund check on the front of the check it states “cannot be cashed”. I used to go to the membership desk and cash it there for many years without buying anything in the warehouse, now I’m informed that the only way to get some of my rebate back in my wallet is to buy an item or two and get the difference back in actual money. ~~LAME !!…I thought that’s what this whole program was advertised as “cash back” not “ some of it back.
@@Mr.Innovator961 yeah that frosts my weenie too, but the reality of the situation is if I'm buying stuff at Costco anyways it's not a huge deal. Plus I cleaned my office desk up and found rebates from 2017, and they happily took them and put them all on a cash card.
I left Costco and went to Sam’s Club and I Love it. Several family members are friends have done the same. Costco will surly lose more customers with some of the changes. Sam’s club and Smart and final are other options.
I sometimes show my Discover card when I go to Costco just to see if the person checking for membership is really paying attention. They always nod their head and I go in. I've never been stopped from entering at Costco or Costco Business Center. I am a current Costco member but I like to do non-invasive security audits for fun.
Their churros aren't worth it anymore anyway. They used to be really good, but when Costco decided to change the food court menu and make it healthier, they started putting less of the cinnamon sugar coating on the churros, and they were just disappointing. My guess is they're taking them off the menu because the sales have probably dropped.
I don't think they were necessarily making it healthier, I think they simply changed vendors probably because they were cheaper, the newer churros were the "twisted" variety instead of the straight kind they used to have, and they were just too crunchy for my tastes. They also increase the price by 50% granted that was only 50 cents more, but churros never were a temptation for me since they changed types.
I never thought their churros were that good. The inside should be soft . Almost like it melts after biting the crispier outside part. But I found theirs just to be too doughy .
Costco likes to change things up in the food court every now and then. (See the polish sausage, rotating sandwich options, Caesar salad) However, I've seen rumors that the churro has returned in certain locations! It could be that cookie sales aren't meeting expectations.
On my latest visit to Costco, a large number of the items on my shopping list ended up being discontinued. This may result in my membership renewal being ‘discontinued’. Anyone else have the same problem?
I shop at Costco in Mexico and it's one of the only stores that hasn't used inflation as an excuse to raise prices higher than needed. Many products I buy haven't changed prices at all while our local Walmart prices increase frequently.
They don't care about you as a human being, just the contents of your wallet. Changing the tables isn't going to hurt their bottom line much, if at all, and they've carefully planned this already. Unless every single person that didn't like this change, quit their memberships, en masse, they wouldn't care. It'll be overshadowed by bigger news in a week, complained about for a few months, accepted in a year, and status quo in two.
Been a Costco® member since December of 1983 when membership was free, but you paid a 5% surcharge on everything if you weren't a business member. I can set my eyes on virtually any place in my house, and they will land on something I bought there.
You must have been near Seattle, Spokane or Portland. I remember those days also. Remember "Goldstar and Emerson" products? cheap but look at them now! :)
@@downhomebiggie1299 Yep, I lived just north of the Seattle city limits and shopped at Costco #1. Definitely remember Goldstar & Emerson, especially the Goldstar VHS recorders. Now they're LG (Lucky Goldstar). They sold some pretty neat stuff back in the day (and of course they still do, albeit different); I remember getting halogen headlamps for my '66 Chevelle there! And the table I'm sitting at was bought there in 1984.
Dear Costco... Regarding your changes... I’ve never bought any food at the “restaurant” so the standing tables doesn’t directly affect me. However, how you treat your customers in general affects my desire to shop there or go back to Sam’s Club! It is often the case where you can run yourself to death shopping and need a place to rest as you get a bite to eat after desperately trying to find what you need because they decided to rearrange the blasted store every few days (may be a slight cranky exaggeration, but stop hiding the things I want to buy!). I would certainly appreciate it as would numerous disabled or elderly shoppers, not to mention your employees! Yet I digress... Back to the table situation, I think having both options allows for accommodating various people with various physical needs or desires. We have never lived and will never live in a one-size-fits-all world! Be thoughtful of your members! What changes I would like to see is to stock more non-GMO products and ABSOLUTELY NO toxic Apeel coated produce (that doesn’t wash off)! 🤦🏻♀️😤🤦🏻♀️ When buying organic produce (and even non-organic), it’s a pretty strong bet people don’t want the produce sprayed with toxic chemicals after harvest, just so you can have a longer shelf life. Buy smaller quantities! I’d much rather you sell out than sacrifice our health just so you can keep your stock around a few more days! 😡😤🤨 Once again, be thoughtful of your members! Thank you for your consideration and good judgement for everyone’s benefit!
Most people have no clue that avocados and other fruits are sprayed with Apeel in Mexico to make the fruit look better for lo get shelf life. This because they are dealing to ship fruit in CO2 anymore which preserves it. Will Gaters is an owner.
Removing sit down tables is absolutely the most dumbest idea ever ! Maybe the people that make these decisions should spend an hour walking around the store pushing a loaded cart , then wanting to just sit for a few minutes and have a snack and see how they feel 😉!
about that "super costco". its basically a business center and regular costco in one. the huge one in utah is one as well. regular shoppers can also buy at the business center so the video was mistaken saying it would only serve commercial customers.
I'm lucky to have a business center fairly close to the regular Costco, and while they don't both have the same sales they do have a number of things I rather like getting, like lunch meats I'll buy the whole chunk o' meat and slice it up on my meat slicer at home and save a bit of money that way.
Standing tables is the company saying buy your crap, buy more crap at our crappy food court and eat it as quick as possible then get the hell out of our store
The removal of seating is passive aggressive and hostile. When people are elderly or they have disabilities, a dining chair is a necessity. It is not a luxury item. I’m disgusted by the lack of hospitality and outright contempt that a lot of these large corporations are showing for their customers. If they get rid of chairs, I certainly won’t be buying their food. There’s just no reason for it other than being nasty in a covert way.
Some bean counter out to make a name for himself will probably pull the "single High table in the corner for those in wheelchairs" trick. Naturally, the single standing table will be too high for a wheelchair. It's when money grubbing, penny pinching pea brains get ideas like this that I hate "Corporate America" the most. What's next? Pay Toilets? Because by that stage, corporate management will have ceased to give a c--p about their customers.
So don't dine there. Shop and leave. Just because they sell food doesn't mean they’re a restaurant. Most grocery stores have a hot food deli section and I've never seen a single chair at any of them.
Its common to stand and eat in Asian countries but I dont get why Costco is doing it in the US unless the want us out of the area faster to wring out more sales.
Here's a thought, find an attorney who handles disability issues and elders. Bet you they might take Costco on for Americans with Disabilities Act. If enough people raise a stink (like thousands), it might make them think again. I'm with ya. These corporate hacks mainly like to give regular people the middle finger. Time we give it back to them. And I'm not kidding about the lawsuit. There has to be a court somewhere that supports seniors and those disabled.
Food court cookie tasted very basic. I love butter and carbs as much as the next person, but 750 calories for that was a waste. The churro was, is, and will always be better.
Costco has been so disappointing in the last few years. This whole membership card fiasco is ridiculous. Ironically, the raise in membership fees is coming just a few months after they started this. Since they expected all these illegal users to get a membership, and reality was they didn't...we now have to make up the profit loss from this decision. Also, since membership fees are what covers Costco's bills, anytime anything becomes more expensive (think inflation), they have to raise their membership fees as they can only impact profit (all sales) for a short period of time. I used to have a business and shopped at Costco for most of my food needs - however, since then I have been transitioning to BJ's (delivery) and Sams Club (delivery). With all the changes happening now and in the near future, I may cut ties, even though I have been a member for 30 years. Just my opinion, but Costco is different now and not what it used to be. I would love it if Sam's Club came back to this part of the country. Plenty of people I know would go there instead of Costco in a heart beat. I mean, I wouldn't be able to purchase that not quite cooked all the way chicken! Oh darn.
@@JR-xs1yh Wrong question my friend. The most important question is; What is that app doing TO me? And, who does it work for? Also, what is its true cost to consumers' power to effect the market for items sold? On and on. Either you have realized these things are a virus (I use this term in the classical programming sense) or you are very far behind the game being played by monopoly power today.
The only 2 issues I have with these type of shop is, the lack of seating ostracizes the disabled and elderly and many are too far from public transport.
What if the .001% of people who shop with another persons card were allowed to just carry on? Would Costco lose money? No. They are making billions a year, and the products they sale have a mark up that keeps them in the black. They have made billions increasing profit every year. This is a fiendish price gouge by Costco. Very disappointing.
I love Costco, but I feel overwhelmed by the large crowds when I go there. These days, I end up spending $500 or more for three of us. Before the pandemic, it used to be around $200, but Costco remains the most cost-effective place for most of our major food needs as a family. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks so :)
Trying to convince wife NOT to renew Costco. Can't speak for anywhere else, but here in Newfoundland, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. You used to be able to save money when going to Costco, not now. We used to go at least once a week. Now, it's every 3 to 4 weeks. The QUANTITY you get for the MONEY you spend, to me, it's just not worth it.
Costco has a curated selection, so if you are getting some of their more premium products or brands, you won't save any from buying a similar product from Walmart, but it might have a healthier ingredient list and potentially taste better. You can still save a ton of money on their monthly deals and common brands that are found in other stores. You just have to be careful what you are buying, and know that Costco caters to middle and upper class, so some of the products will seem more expensive, but I bet the local Kroeger or Target is nowhere near their prices.
I went to Costco last week with my son,who had his own membership and I also have a membership, but I forgot my wallet and he went back to get some bakery goods and I waited in line. They were completely rude to me (75 years old) even after I explained the circumstances and that I had my own membership. It was a terrible experience that I never expected from Costco 😮😢😮
Customer service can look you up and give you a temporary pass. This is not an issue unless you are trying to check out without a membership card. The checkout line is not where they should look up members, inconsiderate to everyone in line behind you.
@@lewisfam4274 I had $322.00 worth of items, and my son’s card, id, and wallet and told them he just ran back to get muffins. I had to get out of line and then my son arrived and it was such a crappie way to treat a 20+ year member 😤
The Costco closest to me is too crowded. It is a zoo. If Costco raises fees, it will be the end of my membership. Besides, I drive past Sam’s to get there, so they are already on thin ice.
I don’t like their policy of my favorite things just disappearing. Used to have killer apple dumplings, then poof- they’re gone. Went to look for Boom-Chi-a-Pop the other day then poof- they’re gone. Very frustrating. And leave the tables if you want me to stay and eat with 2 grandchildren in tow!
Some things are seasonal like the tiramisu cake and others are a supply thing. Usually around Christmas I buy my daughters certain things and I didn't see them this past December thinking they had already sold out. They arrived earlier this month so they got some really late shipments. Also there is a comment box where you can leave a comment on a product and Costco will get back to you. If enough ppl want a product it usually comes back. Also look online, you may find somethings there that you can't find in the stores.
I'm not quite so sure that's really a "policy", they don't look up your card and say "Hmmm they've been buying this thing constantly, lets take it away to mess with them". Bottom line is if they are selling well, and they are still able to be bought from the distributor, they will still sell the item.
We ate there once. Ordered 2 hotdogs and 2 drinks. The cashier didn't even flinch and of course didn't tell us the drinks are included. So we got 4 sodas and 2 hotdogs. Really?!? Is it assumed that Costco customers know that? The hotdogs aren't bad and at the loss pricing quite cheap. Still, we haven't eaten there since because normally we go in, buy the 5 things we need and get out.
@@Beaneabean No. I couldn't care less. I don't deal with drama, I ignore it. If you can't handle that you shouldn't post your emotional problems online.
Costco’s revenue depends on membership fees to a significant degree. Card sharing deprives the company an important source of funds. It is irritating to have someone without a membership block the checkout lines when they are caught.

If Costco really wanted to score big-time they need to put ALL of the cashiers checkouts at a 45 degree angle that would allow you to merge into those choked down exit lanes. And yes my local warehouse has literally turned into a freeway needing a merge lane from payment all the way to the theft verification exit.
And also my local Costco the seating for the food court is too close to the checkout lanes, so I feel like I have to play bumper cars just to get to the exit. As the food court customers have their carts lined up like a disorganized parking lot while they eat.
yep I went to but propane tanks from costco, they are $5 higher than the local u-haul for same brand, what a joke going through those lines and a membership just to pay more
These days you can make up the membership in gas alone. I buy very little at Costco - definitely less than $500/year. Costco has very few products that interest me: marathon TP, Dijon Mustard, AP Flour, distilled vinegar, olive oil, the occasional fish and the occasional clothing item. Oh, and butter. That's about it. I do gas up at Costco though and I save an average of $5 every time. So gassing up once a month is already covering the membership. Every few year I buy tires there because their price is excellent on tires and good batteries, but that's of course not a regular item.
In those huge stores customers need a place to sit and rest, especially when they're eating! I've never had a Churro, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"If it aint broke don't fix it "was the old way when quality was important. MBA's learn the new business model is to make thing that break fast, and re-arrange the store ever 6 months. Customers are stupid they will fill the cart with impulse buys they don't need while looking for what they for what they do need.. Unfrtunately I think they are right.
My big con on Costco's Bakery is that many packaged items' can only be bought in twos. As a household of two people we pass on these items and pick them up at our Sam's Club.
Raising the membership fees to remain profitable??? Seems like Costco is doing just fine with all the openings in the US and overseas.........seems like the CEO wants a bigger paycheck!!
I can tell you as a former employee, morning crew clocks in to work at 4am at most stores and night crew is usually there until 11. People are inside working away to bake, restock and refold the mess created by the previous days customers. Forklifts fly through the isles like nobody's business and everyone else yields to them. It's loud. A lot goes into 24 hours at a warehouse. Most days, in most locations, there are hundreds of customers coming through the front door every 30 minutes. My biggest gripe was always the unnecessary relocation of swaths of items, the 'displays', every single day. Just a way to maximize the amount of time people spent wondering the isles for something they had seen earlier in the week.
No ty lol I work in one in northern California they consider us the bay area for some reason with no extra pay like they get and we stay open till 7 on the weekends instead of 6 like we use to.
I stopped eating at the Costco food court when they stopped serving the sausage dog. If they put cereal on sale you better buy what you want when the flyer first comes out, cause there ain't no rainchecks and I know they always run out of cinnamon toast crunch and honey nut cheerios. The one suggestion I would make to costco is to put description signs at the end of the aisles like other store do I.e. sugar, flour, cereal etc. The wall of values is good, but moving everything else around within departments is crazy. I want to come, get my chicken, shop for the things on my list and get out of there. I am a 'target' shopper, go get the item you want and no browsing.
The changing around and getting people to browse is the entire point. Works well for so many stores with undisciplined shoppers. You shouldn't be eating the breakfast sugar junk anyways. The entire "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" myth stems from a Kelloggs marketing campaign, just like the "you don't have time to cook " myth comes from a marketing campaign for TV dinners. Just stop having breakfast. Our household hasn't done regular breakfast in decades. We don't even have cereals in the house. We eat lunch and a small dinner. We're also not overweight - go figure.
1: I haven't had to pull out my card at the door in such a long time. I couldn't imagine scanning technology, sounds like a good way to spend a whole lot of money, and then raise prices on something else in order to pay for it. 2: New leadership is what I'm worried about, the past leader already turned prices at the food court on it's ear in an upward fashion for everything but hot dogs and pizza and that's only because I think the original owner required those stay the same price. 3. I'm fine with the churros going away, the new "twisted" churros didn't have the same soft interior, and while they were only 50 cents more that translated to a 50% increase in price. The replacement cookies are a slap in the face and showing exactly what that "new leadership" is doing, replacing a $1.50 item with a $2.50 item. 4: Increased membership price, see #2 above. Surprised they haven't removed the cashback on the credit card either. 5: I'm not sure why they would remove seats unless they're trying to reclaim that space for something else in the store. But I will say at one Costco where the food court is inside and there are precious few seats that people always save before they even have their food, I'm ok with the seats going away maybe then it will be possible to have a table where I can put my food and eat . 6: I'm guessing the sponsor of the ad was Magic Spoon and it really has nothing to do with Costco, but that is the most over priced cereal ever, a tiny box of it cost $10. Say what you will about low sugar, etc etc, $10 is too damn much.
@@john-j7e7e I personally switched to Sam's Club and don't regret it one bit. Not as well stocked as Costco, but it is relatively cheaper and Scan & Go improves the shopping experience quite dramatically! Can't see myself making another checkout line at Costco ever again!!
Standing tables for eating and a big fat no!!!! So often, I relied on those tables when my kids were tiny so we could sit and have a quick meal. I hope they don’t ditch seating
They would have to add 3 more locations in my area for me to even consider joining again. My membership was largely unused, as the mobs of people every time I went turned me off completely. I think I went a total of 3 times in a year. Never again.
Which is the reason why their margins on products are so low. When everyone sells a 25lbs bag of all purpose flour for upwards of $11, Costco sells them for $8.
After all of the recent problems building and operating stores in California, I am truly amazed that COSTCO is still planning on building the super warehouse and another few stores in California.
Because Costco doesn't have the problems Target and Walmart have: it's a members only club warehouse. They don't let the homeless and criminals in and they check every cart when leaving. Since they're members only, they can legally do that because you agreed to the "search" when you signed up. Walmart and Target are public stores and therefor don't have the luxury to refuse the scum.
I will never shop there unless you remove the membership requirement. I used to evaluate pricing there and found it to be similar or more than my other sources.
In a perfect world I agree but the cost would impact their food court sales immensely. Food prices are going up and quanity is going down. People wouldn't be able to afford the mark ups.
The Costco food court first got rid of Coke fountain drink products. Then they axed the Polish dog, chicken salad, combo pizza, onions and relish, brisket sandwich, and now churros. They brought back the chicken salad made differently and its price is up from $3.99 to $6.99. The chicken bake is now premade and not made in the food court and costs $1 more ($3.99). Everyone praising the $1.50 hotdog and drink never mention the rising prices of membership.
What Costco needs to do, is the following three things: 1) add more checkouts 2) lower their prices 3) package bulk items in counts and weights that can be compared with their competition. They will never do this because those three changes would prove to the loyal members that they are no cheaper than anyone else.
Had the new food court cookie last week- I’m converted from the churro …but beware you’ll need a locomotive to push all that sugar and calories thru your veins. 😂
Costco needs to bring back the crab-stuffed salmon. That was one of our family go-to meals in a pinch. We would have it at least a couple of times a month.
One of the new stores in in Las Vegas. Due to a California-like bureaucracy, you can't lay a parking lot in Vegas in 130 days, let alone a building. Good luck with that timeline.
Take away seats? What about the elderly? Disabled? Younger kids who can’t see the tops of tables? Btw cookies for >$2-3 I’d rather buy from the bakery… Also… for the executive membership level it needs an update to compete with other membership stores that has unique hours etc
@@toolbaggers Telling comment! You must be a low trust individual. Crooks already have a suspicious heart and know how to deceive and manipulate so they assume that's what everyone else is like, too. I have absolutely left a full cart of groceries on the before check out side multiple times and gone through to use the bathroom and then come back to finish shopping or check out.
I have a membership, but plan to close it. I shop at Sam's paying a little more for the annual fee, allowing me to get free curbside pickup along with free deliveries.

What do you think about the changes Costco is making?
Your video's commentary about their mobile app was useless. Sam's Club app allows customers to check themselves out with the app without entering a checkout line. Costco does not have that, therefore the wait to check out is horrendous at Costco. You never mentioned that and instead blathered hot air about how the percentage of app users was increasing bla, bla bla.

I'm sure there's a lot of early risers that would appreciate 8 AM
Way back in the early days if you had a business acct membership you could shop between 8-10, if I remember correctly. Then it was open for the general public at 10. I think they should go back to that with certain memberships.
Back during the pandemic days they were opening like around 9 am to let seniors and people with certain disabilities shop. I tried going. I'm young but my immune system is compromised due to a heart transplant. They wouldn't let me in which sucked but at least some people got to shop early. They had the resources to open an hour early due to the pandemic so I don't see why they can't do it regularly.
Their executive membership used to let members come in an hour before everyone else, ironically Sam’s Club still does that with their Plus membership.
Costco's used to open at 7:00 AM for business customers. They should be open 24/7/365.

A lot of places in NYC are like that. Standing tables at best. It's understandable there because it's a densely populated area with sky high rent/lease prices so moving people in and out as quickly as possible makes sense.

I’ve never bought any food at the “restaurant” so the standing tables doesn’t directly affect me.

True. It does seem to show contempt for the elderly and the handicapped, not to mention the hard working average person.

I'm not quite so sure that's really a "policy", they don't look up your card and say "Hmmm they've been buying this thing constantly, lets take it away to mess with them". Bottom line is if they are selling well, and they are still able to be bought from the distributor, they will still sell the item.

I live in Ocala, FL. There are about half a million people in this county but no Costco. I really want Costco to open a store here.
Costco’s revenue depends on membership fees to a significant degree. Card sharing deprives the company an important source of funds. It is irritating to have someone without a membership block the checkout lines when they are caught.
I love Costco. It has been a Godsend in this horrible economy.
@@francescoavila6960you must be delusional this is the worst economy in US history thanks to your demented lunatic so called President Joey
What horrible economy??? Check the statistics please!!!😅
@@karrinwilley8079Foods prices are up 20% or more, energy prices are way up, housing is through the roof, interest rates are up, etc etc. Yet, wages are stagnate and not on pace with inflation. That's the numbers that matter.

Horrible economy? Stock market and house prices say different. LOL
Costco expected me to go get in line again, after checking at the door and finding an dozen and a half of eggs that were not rung up, They are Crazy if they think I'm going to get back in line for their mistake , I will start shopping at other stores more often
@@cavemanjoe79 yup totally forgot about that too, maybe time to toss in their suggestion box the need for a few “ in store” roundabouts.
Imagine paying membership to a place where theres no convenience and the prices are the same as a regular gorcery store 😂. Sometimes even more 😂
yep I went to but propane tanks from costco, they are $5 higher than the local u-haul for same brand, what a joke going through those lines and a membership just to pay more
I used to go to Costco, but let my membership expire. I was thinking of going back, but now I probably wont. Thanks for the update.
I like the guy who said I love you. Better than anything. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My big con on Costco's Bakery is that many packaged items' can only be bought in twos. As a household of two people we pass on these items and pick them up at our Sam's Club.
Why don’t you freeze the other package and pull out when needed? That can help avoid waste.
I agree... Sam's club and BJ'S sell them individually, so much better for single people and two person households.
Raising the membership fees to remain profitable??? Seems like Costco is doing just fine with all the openings in the US and overseas.........seems like the CEO wants a bigger paycheck!!
if they want to do something for their customers they should expand their hours. the one closest to me is only open from 10am till 8pm :/
I like Costco. If other people don't then hey, fine by me.
When Costco discontinued their Raspberry Crumble Cookies we didn't bother renewing our membership... that was the final straw for us.
They could do digital signs since they like to change things around.
Ripping comments from Reddit as reporting and then misspelling it as “Redit” in the graphic.. great job, Mashed..
Just don't mess with my rotisserie chicken. Nearly twice the size of Kroger's and now half the price.
Yum enjoy all those chemicals in those horrible treated chickens 😢so sad .
@@ginamarie5575 Those chemicals improve the product
@@ginamarie5575 Weak. Very weak.
You could ditch the food court altogether and I honestly wouldn’t notice. But the checkout experience has gone to hell recently.
food court slow as hell. and so are the checkout lines. why is everything in america going downhill.
Hotdog > haters.
@@john-j7e7e I personally switched to Sam's Club and don't regret it one bit. Not as well stocked as Costco, but it is relatively cheaper and Scan & Go improves the shopping experience quite dramatically! Can't see myself making another checkout line at Costco ever again!!
Then you'll like one of my local Costco's. It no longer has a food court. The other Costco 8 minutes away still has theirs though.
DO NOT get rid of the $1.50 hotdog.
Standing tables for eating and a big fat no!!!!
So often, I relied on those tables when my kids were tiny so we could sit and have a quick meal. I hope they don’t ditch seating
The Cookies & Cream Mini Cakes are disgustingly delicious. Pick up two or three packages.
They would have to add 3 more locations in my area for me to even consider joining again. My membership was largely unused, as the mobs of people every time I went turned me off completely. I think I went a total of 3 times in a year. Never again.
So That’s where Louie Anderson has been.
Louie in drag😂
It’s scary how that gal resembles Louie. Funny!
Louise Anderson.
I honestly thought that it was Louie
@@prsynths4604 It is Louie. He plays that character who loves Costco in a show called Baskets.
‼️‼️Love the Food Samples ✅✅✅😍😋😋😋💯💯💯💯💯
Please bring back the combo pizzas and churros! It would be nice if you could add hot coffee on the menu 😊.
Many people are surprised to learn that over 80% of the revenue generated by Costco comes from their membership dues.
Which is the reason why their margins on products are so low. When everyone sells a 25lbs bag of all purpose flour for upwards of $11, Costco sells them for $8.
And 20% from the chickens 😂
After all of the recent problems building and operating stores in California, I am truly amazed that COSTCO is still planning on building the super warehouse and another few stores in California.
That's where the money is. Lots of idiots with stock options.
I would like to see healthier options, sugar free items made with avocado, olive, or coconut oil. True organic foods are always appreciated.
Yes! More health conscious! Organic Wouk be very much appreciated.
In a perfect world I agree but the cost would impact their food court sales immensely. Food prices are going up and quanity is going down. People wouldn't be able to afford the mark ups.
The clientele that eat at the food court is not the healthier kind!
costco doesnt do it for me, small selections, no parking and not enough good value items. Also removing the seats would remove me forever
They just opened one here recently for Portland Maine in November. It’s awesome! 😊
I wish that Costcos in the United States supported American organic farmers rather than importing fruits and vegetables that are already grown here.
I agree if they want more members they should have way more organic food, both fresh and packaged, like oatmeal etc.
I don’t think anyone who cares about their health shops at Costco 😂
@ 1:02 Hey, that's my local Costo store. Cool.😃👍
I’ve been to the one in Salt Lake City… I was impressed with the HUGE selection
Costco needs to bring back the crab-stuffed salmon. That was one of our family go-to meals in a pinch. We would have it at least a couple of times a month.
One of the new stores in in Las Vegas. Due to a California-like bureaucracy, you can't lay a parking lot in Vegas in 130 days, let alone a building. Good luck with that timeline.
Costco is pretty good at politics though, when they want to open up in town, city politicians bend over backwards to accommodate them.
Take away seats? What about the elderly? Disabled? Younger kids who can’t see the tops of tables?
Btw cookies for >$2-3 I’d rather buy from the bakery…
Also… for the executive membership level it needs an update to compete with other membership stores that has unique hours etc
I wish they had bathrooms in the back of the store too.
.....said every thief.
@@toolbaggers Telling comment! You must be a low trust individual. Crooks already have a suspicious heart and know how to deceive and manipulate so they assume that's what everyone else is like, too. I hate that the store is large and if you have to go, you need to go through cashiers to get to the bathroom, even if you're not ready to check-out.
I have absolutely left a full cart of groceries on the before check out side multiple times and gone through to use the bathroom and then come back to finish shopping or check out.

idk where Mashed gets their info, but 'Walmart: No plans to make stores 24/7 again'. The talk of '24-hour supercenters' is a pre-pandemic "thing".
I have a membership, but plan to close it. I shop at Sam's paying a little more for the annual fee, allowing me to get free curbside pickup along with free deliveries.
Canceled my membership and saved a ton of money.
Costco is not that cheap, so raising membership is NOT good.
In October of 2022 I signed up for a membership, in December of2023 I dropped my membership! It stems from the partnership with Citi card and their underhanded practices that started the day I signed up, which is a direct reflection on Cisco!
