Awesome video! I love the minimal set up with the depth/fish finder, how does that one work? I'm hoping on getting a similar set up to go after crappie!
It is just a low end ice fishing flasher Humminbird ICE 35. You can get them for a few hundred dollars. They are very helpful in the sense I alway know how deep I'm fishing and if something pings back that is in the water column I know its either cover or fish near my kayak. It's my cheaper version of down imaging :D In this case I am only using it to know how deep the water is. In other cases I use it to mark cover that is underwater and not visible. It is very slow and tedious work. 98 Percent of the time nothing is marking under my kayak, but every now and then you mark something. When you mark something you fish it thoroughly and you keep a very good mental note of where you are so you can find that cover again on another outing. For now it is just me being resourceful, but in the near future I will be upgraded to something that will help me a little more with finding cover.
