Those vertical lights made her look like she had cat eyes! I'd love to take credit for noticing that but another reactor pointed it out and now I can't not see it.
Ok, I have a lot to say. First, this song was never released by Dio before he died. It was 1 min. and something longer than the original. RJD's wife wanted them to play this song in honor of Dio. It was given to them 1 wk. before the benefit concert and they had to learn the music and make a video of it in 7 days. Also if you notice the lights hanging down beside Melody. They made her eyes look evil like a cat's eyes or a vampire. Go back and re-look at them. They nailed this song. I loved it and her new Nickname given to her by Vini is Melo-Dio.
All of them nailed it. Justin on the keys stood out, and killed it. Sam... well, Sam is Sam as always. Abi & Ethan drove the entire song in the proper lane, and Melody.... she channeled Dio's persona, characteristics, stage presence, and poured her heart & soul into this. She insisted on doing this unheard of extended version (over 1 min longer than original) entrusted to her by Dio's drummer Vinny, and Wendy Dio herself. The Mic is a tribute to Ronnie as well.

Update: I have learned this was actually an extended version given to them by Wendy Dio/ Vinny Appice especially for the Cancer Fund Tribute. It was a version never done by anyone before.

waited for this reaction every day, searched for it every evening. so refreshing (here's 39 celsius), thank you again. best regards from Transylvania, Romania.
The SM-57 provides a tighter sound than the SM-58 and some vocalists prefer it as it can tighten up their voice. It also handles a higher volume load before distorting. Other vocalists who have used the SM57 are John Lennon, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, early Heart, Surfjan Stevens etc. If you watch live concerts a lot, you will see a number of female rockers using it as well.
Phenomenal reaction of a phenomenal tribute to Ronnie James Dio not quite a cover because this version is a minute and a half longer from original and was from an unreleased version which Vinny Appici and Wendy Dio gave them for Cancer fundraiser. Which they had one week to learn to get it ready for the fundraiser. They felt Liliac was the only band that could give it justice.
Anybody is listening to this siblings ...the rebirth of the king of Rock DIO from Los Angeles Calif Melody keep it up be humble on what you have the Godess Voice of rock and all of you are the rebirth of fallen rockters
Great as always !! If you like Dio, You could react to Hear'n'aid, which is a project he did for Africa in 1985 with the cream of the guitarists and singers of this time. Only a few reaction on this on UA-cam. Greetings from France !
We are the children is Liliac's anthem. You must play this one, and pay close attention to the slow fast, slow fast, stop ✋break down near the end its wild.
I love Dio so no disrespect to him at all but I think I like Liliac's version better! Wow! You are right they did some things to modernize it a little bit and Melody's voice is so awsome! They each did awsome and put it all together.. . I could go on and on WELL ✔👍👌
I don't remember if you have done "We Are The Children" or "Mystery" or " Dear Father which just came out not that long ago. Just more Liliac please love your reactions.
Take a look at the strip lights hanging down. They give a very cool effect but if you look at Melody on her close-ups the strip lights on each side of her are reflecting in her eyes and it looks like she has animal or cat eyes. Probably unintentional but I thought it looked pretty cool. I had to watch it again to see if I was seeing it right.
Yeah, nightwish, epica and these guys are the only ones consistently able to give me goosebumps when listening, sore different bands/songs can do that once in awhile, and while I love all kinds of music types and songs, those three groups are the only ones that can do it almost every song, whether or not a cover or original music.
Great reaction guys!! I saw them live last Saturday and they did this song. Liliac is a great live band. Some bands don't sound as good live as their records, Lilliac sounds better!!!! A must see when they come to your area!!
I am surprised you didn't mentioned the SawTooth guitars they are playing. I have never heard of them but, I think they are my second favorite guitar brand. They Have a sweet sound. Love your reactions!
I think it was also used to give a much better view of her entire face and expressions as a regular vocal mic would cover that. Melodys' intensity really came out in this video. You can tell by her expressions this was performed from her love and respect of the man himself--- RJD
You spoke of Melody's relationship with the camera (and her audience live...) - have you ever checked out some of the old Cristea family videos? One that gives real hints of her eventual vocal prowess is a cover of Rhianna's "Stay" - Sam also shines vocally in it. She's still missing some teeth - she's that young - and she looks so natural in front of the lens it's scary. Bonus watch - Abbi on the accordion.
Another great reaction... I too thought "A 57? For vocals? Who does that?" But they pulled it off... The people who think Melody is too theatrical, have not watched a video of Dio doing this song live... Thanks for another Liliac reaction... We always love your take!
Indeed Kevin, if you watch Dio's 1984 live performance of this, he does exactly the same moves as Melody. That's where she got those moves from. So, if people don't like her theatrics, then they must not like Ronnie himself. Have a good one.
Great reaction you two,, had no doubt you be all over this reaction/song. The light bars hanging seemed to play two significant film/vide qualities. One scene/person change like a picture slide and second; the two in front of Melody on each side cast light to make her to appear to have cat eyes.. sooo cool. Bass in this song was rockin.. was not the song without that steady beat.. kudos to Ethan. Great. wonderful reaction and comments as usual, looking for more reactions; keepem coming . Huggggs
Have been waiting for you guys to Do a reaction to this song..Thank you! Loved it so much ,think I'll watch it again..Liliac has become my go to band, when I want it Loud..They have become my favorite band..Thank you Guys..you are also my favorite Reactors when it comes to Liliac.
You guys should go back a bit and do a reaction to the trooper,Harry will be blown away by Ethans part of the dual solo,as usual Sam just kills his part.....
Hey guys, I love Dio as much as you and I thoroughly enjoyed this phenomenal cover of one of my personal favorite Dio songs. Before I get into my feelings about this video I wanted to ask, with a laugh, if I was your reason for the explanation for your ear buds, because I was the one who pointed them out to you, for which you gave me a very nice response and explanation of your set up. I thought it was very cool 😎 of you guys to not rip me a new one for my assumption, you were nice about it, thank you. You both seem like very down to earth people and seem like you’d be a cool hang. Now, that aside, I think Ronnie James Dio and his music are one of the greatest contributions to Rock and Roll. I’ve loved RJD in all his music from his time with Rainbow and Sabbath to his illustrious solo career. I say this because I want you to know how much I love his music and that I’m pretty well educated on Dio and his music. The Last In Line is one of my favorite Dio songs and also one of my all time favorite Rock songs, I’ve listened to it thousands of times. This is why I can’t agree with you more on the fact that Liliac nailed this song down so freaking well, from Melody’s outstanding vocals, to Sams tasty guitar work, to Abby’s drums and to the great bass and keyboards, they did this song justice, RJD would be proud. I agree with you about Sams great guitar work, he’s such an accomplished player and at his age it’s mind blowing. I watch his picking and his fingers very carefully because I also play and I’m amazed at his skill level at his age, I’ve been playing as an amateur for 40 years and his skill level almost embarrasses me. I tinker around with recording my own songs on my home computer and love how much fun it is to create, record and mix my own music. I think this is why I connect with you guys and appreciate your views and reviews, you come across as knowledgeable and humble at the same time. I’d love to hear some of your music, where can I find it? Ok, I’m in total agreement, Liliac kicked the ever loving shit out of this cover and I agree that these kids are going to do great things in the music world, hoping to bring good Rock music back to the top where it belongs. Stay cool 😎 and… \m/ Stay Metal \m/
I want to say one thing about Sam's guitar playing... I never learned guitar, tried as a little girl and it never seemed to work well with me. Well this was in the 60s way before there was any real knowledge about left handers trying to play right handed, (found out later in life, that was the problem) lol so I gave up in frustration. But I still loved the guitar, esp after hearing Dave Gilmour play. Mercy me! Always will be my fave. Anyway, there have been lots and lots of young rock bands pop up lately or is it just me, that have speed metal in their guitar playing and while all that is pretty mind-blowing, I prefer tasty melodic and intense guitars that are more technical than proving how fast you can play. Yes Sam can play fast but he plays more concise and for that I so love watching that kid. Thanks for your breakdown John, I always love hearing those who know more than I give me a lesson so to speak since I am not very well versed on the technical aspect. And thanks to these two crazy kiddos, Songs and Thongs, who also give us a lesson when we all need it. Rawk on! #RORH
@@cristyrawks6325 hi Cristy, I can appreciate your comments on Sam and guitar in general, I too love David Gilmore’s melodic solos and think he’s a phenomenal player, his playing matches the music Pink Floyd play’s perfectly. I started playing at 15 and I was horrible, but I loved what I saw and heard from the music I listened to and I stuck with it, I’m no super star, but I enjoy playing and that’s the key to it. I enjoy all types of guitarists and am envious of all types of styles from David Gilmore’s smooth style to Stevie Ray Vaughn’s blues to Eddie Van Halen’s playing a blue streak. It’s all cool and it’s all great guitar. Ok, I’m done pontificating, nice to have met you, and remember it’s never too late to learn, I took a 20 year hiatus from playing but 5 years ago I found a new love for it all over again. Stay cool and… \m/ Stay Metal \m/
@@johnstarace8369 Being and thinking left handed is a whole different animal hun. Esp for a 13 yr old. lol I also love SRV omg saw him 3 times. Eddie was among those in the 80s who woke up many a guitar player much like Hendrix and Page did in the 70s. Loooove them too. Page to me is one of a kind. As for not too late? Yes in some things it is....body betrays me everyday at my age among other reasons. But I'm glad that you picked it back up again. So did my brother after being away from it for about 20 years too and he used to do incredible composing on the computer back then. He played a lot like Steve Johnson. smh Anyway, nice talking to ya... #RORH
@@cristyrawks6325 hey Cristy, I’ve got several problems with severe arthritis in my legs and knees and can only play sitting down and even then I can only tolerate an hour or so playing at a time, so I know what your talking about as far as body problems go. But I completely understand what your talking about. I too record some music on my computer and I’ve created a SoundCloud account for myself, if your interested in listening to my music here’s a link to my SoundCloud page; soundcloud.com/user-550516225 Keep in mind some of the playing is pretty rough since I’m just getting into playing again and learning my way through the recording process. Oldskoolnerd had a good point about the mic, a smaller mic let you see Melody's facial expressions. A regular mic would have covered half her face. Plus.. the nostalgia factor for the video. I'm glad to see Ethan and Justin getting a chance to show their talent more and coming to the front of the band. Sam, Abi and Melody killing it as always. I really like this one - it really plays into their wheelhouse. And maybe it says something about how good Sam and Melody always are, that they aren't even my favorite part.
Hey Harry! Being you like Ethan on the bass, react to their cover of Iron Maiden's The Trooper where Ethan is playing rhythm guitar
Find the words! So impressive aren't they?
Hope you are safe in SA. BEST WISHES!
Anybody is listening to this siblings ...the rebirth of the king of Rock DIO from Los Angeles Calif Melody keep it up be humble on what you have the Godess Voice of rock and all of you are the rebirth of fallen rockters
Great reaction! You know the source material and the band so well and I dig how much you dig it!
So...#songsandthongs when is the new Dear Father reaction scheduled for? 😁
Love your reactions!
Great as always !! If you like Dio, You could react to Hear'n'aid, which is a project he did for Africa in 1985 with the cream of the guitarists and singers of this time. Only a few reaction on this on UA-cam. Greetings from France !
cant wait til dear father is released
You made my day when I saw you reacted to this, love you guys almost as much as I love Liliac! Thanks so much. Fang4Life!!
Chills the whole time
We are the children is Liliac's anthem.
They each did awsome and put it all together.. . I could go on and on WELL ✔👍👌
I agree! Melodia is honestly better than Dio himself!
They get better and better every video I watch.
my all time dio song that was awesome
Nice to expose the new generation to the best era in music!
They had a week to learn it and played it at Ronnie's Birthday Bash
Superstar band in the making... and we can watch it happen... Rock On and Rock Hard ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mel did use the dir mike to record because RJD used a dir mic as well and its retro.
I think it was also used to give a much better view of her entire face and expressions as a regular vocal mic would cover that. Melodys' intensity really came out in this video. You can tell by her expressions this was performed from her love and respect of the man himself--- RJD
I just love Your genual reactions to this incredibly good young band!!
Hey guys hope you're staying safe i heard alot of tension is going on down in S.Africa please stay safe and be well
You spoke of Melody's relationship with the camera (and her audience live...) - have you ever checked out some of the old Cristea family videos?
Liliac never disappoints ❤️
Love the white guitar.
Beautiful!!!
Huggggs
Announced today dear father video releases this Friday yay
Great as always. Wish you react to some of their previous videos that you have not reacted to yet. They are all amazing.
Poppa liliac says you 2 are some of his favorite reactors
Stay cool 😎 and…

Stay cool and…

@@johnstarace8369 Being and thinking left handed is a whole different animal hun. Esp for a 13 yr old. lol I also love SRV omg saw him 3 times. Eddie was among those in the 80s who woke up many a guitar player much like Hendrix and Page did in the 70s. Loooove them too. Page to me is one of a kind.
As for not too late? Yes in some things it is....body betrays me everyday at my age among other reasons. But I'm glad that you picked it back up again. So did my brother after being away from it for about 20 years too and he used to do incredible composing on the computer back then. He played a lot like Steve Johnson. smh
Anyway, nice talking to ya... #RORH
@@cristyrawks6325 hey Cristy, I’ve got several problems with severe arthritis in my legs and knees and can only play sitting down and even then I can only tolerate an hour or so playing at a time, so I know what your talking about as far as body problems go. But I completely understand what your talking about. I too record some music on my computer and I’ve created a SoundCloud account for myself, if your interested in listening to my music here’s a link to my SoundCloud page;

Keep in mind some of the playing is pretty rough since I’m just getting into playing again and learning my way through the recording process.
If you decide to listen let me know what you think.

@@johnstarace8369 Absolutely, I will.
Real quick: multi-trauma, near fatal accident in 2005 left me disabled in my legs but also chronic pain in my whole body. But I try to still do yard work *with my walker* 😄 and of course taking care of my animals since no one else will. Good for the mental state too. Trying to learn a guitar would be too hard on my damaged neck and shoulders tho. But you keep going buddy.
I think those pinch harmonics are going to be Sams' trademark or they already are. He includes pinch harmonics in a lot of the music.
oh theyre def his trademark
I've noticed he uses them as markers and beginning and endings a lot as well as for effect.
America has the best metal
Hope everything is ok. Stay safe. Great reaction
There is nothing that Liliac can't tackle. FANG4LIFE RO&RH
Thank you for your honesty
Love your reactions. Please stay safe.
Looking forward to seeing them live in August
Liliac is amaising.. 😅 Grown to one of the Best Band of the Planet 🌏.. 😅
check out their earlier stuff enter sandman, the trooper, somebody to love, or crazy train please. they even have stuff before they were liliac as the cristeas
Check out Liliac. ..Mystery.....
I like the way Liliac takes a cover, polishes it a bit, cleans it up a tad and throws it in your face. This was hit out of the park. Thanks for the awesome reaction. RORH 🤘🤘
I really like this one - it really plays into their wheelhouse. And maybe it says something about how good Sam and Melody always are, that they aren't even my favorite part. For this, Ethan's bass work really stood out - the kid's getting good! And awesome that Justin had something meaty to do, too! Great job! 🤘🦇🤘
Ok so I didn't know you looked at it last year I just suggested it on another you reacted to I think it was master of puppets Anyway these kids are definitely phenomenal very well rehearsed very tight as a group and a family it seems I love them all
Since yall dig Sabbath, check out their cover of Paranoid.
