    It's like the rain is in Galveston, I live in Southwest Houston , just only getting sprinkles and clouds for the last several days.

    Galveston must be getting all the rain because in SW Houston we are bone dry. We haven't had any measurable rainfall. It's just been clouds and a sprinkling of rain the past 10 days. It's kept the temperatures down which is nice.

      That's what a lot of people are talking about it's like Houston has some type of protective barrier, If you look at the radar any amount of rain that gets anywhere close to Houston will evaporate before it can even rain, idk whats going on.

    Why do local tv personalities not tell their viewers about what the models and patterns are showing 7 days out if it turns north to the Gulf. This has just the same probability as it staying south and moving to eastern pacific. The difference is that the models are showing if it turns north then we have a very strong Cat4 in the Gulf making landfall somewhere between mid/upper Texas coast to SW Louisiana. People need to know this is just as likely an outcome as nothing happening from it.

      Agree! People in Houston were not prepared when Beryl hit. They need to start preparing in case we are in or near the bullseye again. We are talking about next week! If it's a stronger system past Jamaica it will curve to the north.

      After 7 days it gets harder to predict where a storm is going to go. Hurricane accuracy gets better as it gets closer to making landfall. Plus that front might push this "storm" into Mexico. As of right now, there's a zero % chance of Houston getting hit because there isn't a storm. Getting worked up over a storm that doesn't exist yet isn't healthy.

      @@terrir.7604 There isn't a high pressure system sitting over Cuba this time. Beryl rode the high pressure system all the way to us, this isn't going to be a beryl 2.0. By this time 3 months ago, beryl was already approaching cat 3-4 status. This wave is still very disorganized and is elongated.

      Thank u for ur comments. I have PTSD from being flooded out of my house during tropical storm Francis and then later tropical storm Allison. I'm always very prepared but the anxiety is real. You have eased my mind so thank u!! @@ShadowGamingReviews

    Mike is by far my favorite Chief Meteorologist out of all our Meteorologist on Houston broadcast stations. I love the detailed explanations he goes into with these videos and it's made me respect the field of Meteorology even more. I imagine there are younger viewers being so inspired by some of these videos and Mike's passion for this profession that they will pursue it.

      It has a possibility of combining with the system thats brewing in the tropics and become a Cat 4 Hurricane.

    • @ShadowGamingReviews
      @ShadowGamingReviews 15 днів тому

      @@GypsyIndigoBlu Bruh stop fearmongering. There is zero evidence to support a cat 4 hurricane with how weak and disorganized this wave looks. For the last three days the NHC has bounced the 7 day outlook between 40 and 50%. They don't have high confidence this will spin up in time before it arrives near the Yucatan. If it does spin it will probably do it near Jamaica (if it can) then still be pushed either west or east thanks to that cool front moving in.

    The forecasting for this storm and the previous one have been so bad. Throw away your equipment and quit, It's not going to rain. The coast line is the only place, even remotely, close to Houston that might get some rain.

    I watched a video on flooding in the Sahara caused by the ITCZ moving north, the video also stated that the ITCZ moving north will result in less waves coming into the Atlantic from the Sahara resulting in less hurricanes. Any opinions about this?
