Do you prefer James' classical music talents or his modern rapping? 👀 ua-cam.com/users/shortsiQz_iLbpNDU
Definitely the classical piano. But I do always spell "rap" with a C, so....
How about neither?
Complicated Japanese wrapping is sth we can learn from him with his pace or weaving.
The classically trained pianist 100%. It’s engraved in my soul
Guitar 🎸
This is the most James May thing I have ever seen.
He does have a music degree
He can play 👍
Он все умеет ,играть, готовить ,ездить на машинах ,ремонтировать все что угодно ,журналист ,и просто настоящий мужчина))
@@Swetok.An out of time and still developing renaissance man
He used to play in a band called Queen with a fake name.
I've never seen a more accurate depiction of what does it feels to play piano
So true
This is literally how I lent, I mean, more than one line at a time but, ya, half a page each day give you a song by the end of the week
Yup
Yes😂
I'm working on a piece from Bach and learn one stanza at a time. After a month, I gave up.
He even looks like an 18th century composer
Beethoven had significantly faster lap times.
loll
I see, Beethoven has been trippin’ balls recently
Ahahahahhahahaha
It was just because he didn't know how to use a metronome
@@glittery_fairy lmao
Lol, he started that like he was really bout to get down. LOL for real
The only way to do it
James May never quite showing off his musical ability is the longest edge in modern media history.
The episode where they ran out of budget and when Hammond brought Oliver to the UK has James playing on a small keyboard that plays music. He played the Top Gear soundtrack and more.
This and diesel scirocco just proves that James May is the new Beethoven
Diesel scirocco is the best music evet
Takes you to Morocco
Berlin to Warsaw in one Tank
@@jacklowe3037 do wish it was longer, what a catchy tune that was. lol
Does he compose sonatas?
Beautiful voicing on those chords, honestly.
Agree, it's a very good sound tbh
Yes but the dotted rhythm is wrong and it's unforgivable to use both right and left hand when it should only be left hand @@amvalkyrie6496
May, you fucking legend. I got a great laugh out of that.
Relatable: when i start a new piece, i learn a bar and then i take a nap
I usually learn the bassline, or lowest voice and then get sidetracked by something else lol.
....aaand wake up in another bar that also has a piano..
What a man. A man for our times.
James May must be protected at all costs ua-cam.com/video/5fBWb4WG2A4/v-deo.html
I like how he tells us prior that he can’t play it, and yet we think he’s just being humble😂
Master trolling workshop. The timing and delivery are impeccable :)
Yes, but in a very slow way. Captain Slow Beethoven
I think this is confirmation that he is
From Queen guitarist to classical pianist it's a snap
He really feels the music. And he looks so much like the Master himself!
Not the worst start at all 👍🏻
Octave jump needs to be sped up
The beginning is usually a good start.
Keep going James, I believe in you.
Love your positive attitude 😊😂
Everyone should aspire to be more like James May 👀 ua-cam.com/users/shortsMZSjl4Q5CeQ
The funny thing is he does know how to play. Maybe not up to his standards but this is his best dry af joke to date😆😆😆 living legends!
Hahahajskdnkdkd what a great sense of humor!!!
Nice hand movements & finger setting though
ya, you can tell that he actually knows how to play and can probably play much more of this piece
I love Beethoven sonata no. 32 so much. It is his last sonata, and perhaps his most pristine. Sure, you have the earlier masterpieces like no 29 and 23 and 21, but something about 32 is just so mature and beautiful. I myself want to learn the first movement as well. I have already learned 3, 8, 14, 17, 19, 20, 21, 23, a little bit of 26 and 29, and 30. I want to tackle 26 and 29 a bit more and then move on to 32 or 31 for sure
Best of luck to you!
I learnt all of them
James May is actually comic genius! This delivery and timing when he does little gags and bits like this are always absolutely perfect.
Im always expecting Clarkson to bash through the piano with a Humvee
James has a music degree
This is why he's my favorite. 😂😂😂😂
Dude I can’t handle how much I relate
Oooh! I'm actually properly learning this right now so you go, James!
May clumsily reveals himself to be a vampire there is no sign of him in the mirrored piano.
Often times we forget James has a music degree
Recently learnt the first 40ish seconds of Hungarian Rhapsody No.2, and have no intention to learn the rest lol. Waiting for the day someone hears me begin playing it and looks shocked then I just get up and leave before properly starting it lol.
he has the hairstyle of a great pianist
he actually has a music degree, but his wit wins me on this one lol,
perfect performance 😁
James is a British icon
That 3 chords made my day
I’d love to hang out with May and Clarkson and Hammond, what a cool group of dudes
Imagine going to a classical concert and they do that and walk off hahaha.
Thruth be told A master pianist.
He does resemble 1800 look alike.......he looks like a reincarnation from bethovven
James is my absolute favourite
Lol....😄 I was expecting him to keep going.
James! (In Clarkson's voice) 🙆😅
Most relatable piano vid on YT. 😂😂
Classic James. Love this!
Mr. May, the May, perfection
His Elegance really is frightening
More hair and he will turn into Brian May XD
MAY, I SEE YOU AGAIN AFTER YEARS
You Beethrolled us! 🤣🤣🤣
This man is a genius, I adore him
"Cheese"
Cheese minor
a pro pianist: SO PREETTY
I’d LOVE to see James play 😊
Bottom of next chord, you probanly mean:-)
Beethoven is the old James May.
That’s the spirit, ol’ chap.
He's a brave man to start this scary sonata. Better try the op. 10 n. 1
Why he does have a music degree
@@CricketEngland that's why he says that in the end of the week he will be playing only the first page... Having a music degree doesnt make you a professional pianist
@@AlexanderGkamanis he can play the keyboard so it would be much easier for him and he only said that for effect as this is from the TV series “our man in Japan”
@@CricketEngland I cant bother to answer the random things that you say
@@AlexanderGkamanis no but you can be bothered to reply with crap
James has obviously never lost his inner child and im so jealous
Wait wait wait... this is the "cheese." guy!!
James May is THE Cheese Guy 🧀 ua-cam.com/video/LKL_r_9vnnc/v-deo.html
So far so good.
May is becoming Howard Hughes in the madness years 😂
Slow and steady wins the race James.
This is like the dragrace in australia, where he stopped after a few meters, because he proved the gtr was quickest of the line.
Sheet music boss: gets scared
Quick pedaling, not letting it just drop... Hands are okay. Adequate distance from the piano. Foot doesn't look like it's going for the damper lol. But there were dynamics there. So awesome to see :-).
Edit: WRT the foot, sometimes my left foot lands up under my right foot for a bit of a boost 😂👍if the pedal is too high...
A lifetime playing with his organ and now he decides the piano is his thing 🙄😅
aren't they essentially the same thing, organ just has more keys? not exactly the leap of faith...
Haha good one, but he is a classical trained *pianist* afterall.
@@vertsk8er419 I feel like organ playing might be much harder than the piano. Most organs have pedalboards that are played by the feet, and post-romantic era organs usually have expression pedals that you'd have to control while simultaneously playing notes on the pedalboard. you'd also have to learn organ registration, which can be difficult.
@@vertsk8er419 both keyboard instruments but different. Piano dynamics are controlled by touch whereas an organ is by a lever. Piano uses pedals for sustain and quiet where organ has another set of keys for the feet and sustain is from holding the key down. Also idk if its all organs or the one I played on one time, there is a delay in the sound when pressing the key. Not much but it is noticeable maybe .25 seconds or something.
@@kevinharms6700 a mechanical action organ should have no latency at all, and even some electro-pneumatic actions can be very fast - if you do notice a delay, it's more likely to be a sonic delay due to the pipes being some distance from the console. However, there are some actions which can be a bit laggy, especially old school tubular pneumatics.
Lmao I remember seeing this in the Japan documentary that he was in
He plays Harpsichord very well , he's just having a lend.
Thats about how much i get to play before my teacher interrupts to tell me im doing it all wrong
James acting like he doesn’t know how to play too well lol… always so humble..
i don't know why i love james may, but i genuinely do.
Awesome, keep it up!
Ha ha! I know that feeling very well 😁 Now on the fourth page of the Pathetique. Thanks James.
James is an OG Nerd.
Literally me
(But I would struggle even with these two chords)
Manny was just in the piano with spoons
this is a meme and all, but bro actually got the right voicing
I didn't know Billy Connolly could play the piano
🎶 diesel scirocco 🎵
Love ur attempt wt beethoven hair👍👍👍❤️😄
reminds me of that Tom and Jerry episode.
The Cat Concerto but it's James May
I LOVE THAT SONATA
All the notes were in the right order.
Lol , your the best James
Slowly but surely...Captain
👏🇦🇺
As a classical piano student and Top Gear fan, I needed this
Do you know what episode is it ?
@@tdg9281 James may Amazon series "our man in Japan"
He's got the Beethoven hair down to a T, that's a start.
A comedic Beethoven for sure.
Excellent Captain Slow...or Mr Slowly as the Italians call you.
He got the Beethoven hair right
He’s a national treasure.
James van Mayhoven
He has such a way with his hands... ;}
yes James we pray for you 😃
This. This is James may
hahahaha
All he needs now is a "banging stereo for me tunes"
