Let's Go Flying I think it was a couple of minutes after take off, I think I might of seen you when you where doing the orbit around the lake because I know where that is! Also I came from TikTok
Noted Neil - that angle will be returning soon! The issue I had was that I had an enormous rucksack in the P2 seat and it was blocking where the camera would usually be. I’m going to see if I can get a different mountain that I don’t have this issue again as I do prefer that angle myself.
Great video Nick . Loved seeing Halfpenny Green again , my local airfield before my incarceration in Australia . I’ve had a few C42 flights at “ The Green “ , always loved the docile handling , sadly none here in Aussie . Looking forward to the next episode.
Let's Go Flying . Used to cycle over to HG as a school kid and marvel at the aeroplanes . I still visit there when I’m in the UK , sadly not very regular presently . Let’s all hope things get back to normal soon . My best wishes and keep safe .
Superb trip mate, I like the idea of breaking these up a bit into nice bite sized chunks. Ace to meet Ben Atkinson out there as well, especially as he was fundamental in me passing my exams
Yeah it was a lovely trip that! I do want to keep mainly a touring theme on the channel if I can help it. Got some exciting trips planned this year, COVID permitting! Yeah both Ben & Rory are good friends. We would have done a lot more together if COVID hadn’t got in the way which is sad but fingers crossed for this year!
Good series of videos. We met at Oaksey Park, I was the elderly C42 pilot you spoke to. Sorry you were not able to sample the delights of Warwick and Wing Farm.
The knob that you turn came off! Basically it would only add pressure on and not take it off, it unscrewed itself when turning it anti clockwise. I got a small Allen key I use for adjusting the parking brake and kind of stabbed the stem to stop it moving the dial when I turned it and tightened the thread. Seemed to do the job nicely! Thank you for watching Jed 😊. Episode 2 is done and I’m quite pleased with how it has come out - it is a lot more action packed!
Never did finish my ppl 20 odd years ago....stopped due to family loss and also rising costs. One thing that I used to find difficult as a p/ut was sorting out the overhead join when joining from different directions and also L or R....do you have an easy way to sort it before reaching the overhead?
Yes it can be expensive. This is why I chose microlights though bindis my entire licence for less than £5k including my exams and books. The easiest way I remember the direction for an overhead join is to imagine yourself looking down the runway as though you are landing or about to take off - a right hand circuit will be to your right and left hand will be to your left. Regarding the join, you want to be at join height on the live side as you fly towards the dead side with your wing pointing down the beginning of the runway, as you fly the descending curve you then cross the end of the active runway and join on the live side. Hope that helps!
Hi nick, great videos! interested to land at Ashcroft as I need to visit oulton park, I fly a pa28 archer, I have experience with short field landings and takeoffs, it’s a fairly narrow strip I see. What is beyond the runway at either side.. just grass? Do you get Pa28’s flying in? Anything more to note?
Sorry Jade! Right foot as in right rudder to counteract the torque from the propellor that wants to slew the back end of the plane round due to using full power for takeoff.
Hi Nick, just came across your video thanks to UA-cam!! New subscriber here mate, looking forward to watching the content on your channel. 👍👍✈️✈️. Follow Rory & Ben, can add you to list now! 👌
Great video Nick, being a bit picky, radio calls on final, should not be “turning final”. Especially when established and call repeated. Oaksey Park landing. On air to ground airfields other pilots are looking for you. If you are trying to spot a landing aircraft from the ground, the call, final gives a better indication of where you are. Looking forward to more content. Mike.
Let's Go Flying , it seems to be catching, I have seen quite a few people do it in their videos. They say turning final or turning down wind. It’s as if they are over eager to call their position. I was taught use as few words as possible. GABC down wind etc. As I said, great content. It is very brave to put your flights out there for all to see, even edited content. It certainly helps us all to learn. I wouldn’t do it!! Best Mike.
Mike Woodbridge thanks Mike! I am glad you are enjoying the content though. I keep an open mind with everything and I am always learning so comments like yours I welcome and find useful. I don’t profess to be the best pilot or be the best on the radio like others but I make up for it in willingness too learn! Episode two of this trip is edited and ready to go so I’ll probably put that out Friday evening or Saturday morning and it’s a bit more action packed!
Brilliant video again nick 👍. Love these adventures you do
Thank you!!
I can't wait to get back in the air. Your videos are really helping get me through these strange times. Thanks Nick. Part 2 here I come.
Thanks! Same! Desperate to get back up. I hate long gaps without flying - that first flight back is always nerve racking!
@@LetsGoFlying Long breath, keep it simple is how I do it. Yours just costs a bit more to fix. ;)
Nice Video nick! Enjoying catching up on the videos 👍🏻
Thank you! I’m really pleased you enjoy them! Hopefully I can keep getting better at them!!
Great video, awesome to see those vintage planes at Oaksey park too! 👍
Thanks Joe! More of that to come in the next two. It’s a lovely place, Oaksey!
I can’t believe it! I saw you guys fly over my house !!
Did you actually? Where abouts? Thanks for watching by the way!

Cheers - much appreciated!
Think this is the best video yet really enjoyed it
Thank you! The next two are more action packed!
Hi Nick, Great vid and camera positions. Having said that I'm a great fan of the forward view including the instruments and controls. Cheers

@@LetsGoFlying Much appreciated...keep up the good work. N
Another great video 👌👌 👍

Thanks David! The next two should be better. I love Halfpenny Green - they are always so welcoming and friendly there.

This looked like an absolute amazing place and some amazing aircrafts, another great vid very enjoyable to watch nick 👌
Thanks John. Both Halfpenny Green and Oaksey Park are lovely places to visit - they are always extremely welcoming and friendly.

Yeeeeeh buddy! Great as ever mate
Thanks Ben. Looking forward to editing in your cameo haha
Cool video, roll on episode 2. What’s was wrong with your altimeter, and how was it fixed?

great video trying to get my nppl at the moment
That’s ace Oliver. Stick at it - it’s the best thing I ever did! Thanks for watching as well!

You never explained on take off why your right foot was needed.

Understood! Not sure why I said “turning” 🙈
