    Good video, Jake. Glad that you got the log lift repaired on the Eastonmade. Sometimes the most obvious is hard to see. Keep up the good work.

    Interesting use of a moisture meter Jake. LMAO. That has to be a first… Can’t wait to see your review of the grapple. Looks like it’s pretty beefy. I wonder how much lifting power it’s going to rob?

    I'd try and retap the threads on the old arm just in case it were to happen again. That way you'd have a back up and not be out of commission while waiting for a new one.

    Having the right equipment sure makes life easier Jake! I hope mini-x AC is fixed soon… these temperatures have been brutal.

    I'd try getting a new bolt for the old arm, maybe chase the threads with a tap, be a good back-up spare.

    Hey Jake. Do you thought about selling the wood in "full totes" instead of cords? I think, you know, how much of a cord is in an ibc tote, so you can calculate the price for a full tote. In this case you don't must overfill the totes and can staple the totes, so you don't waste so much space in your wood yard. I staple 2 totes, so i must only cover the tote on the top. You can see it on my youtube-chanel.

      I sell all my wood by the tote, large totes are 1/3 cord and small are 1/4 cord. I want to start stacking my totes two high

    I have a badger. You guys have really short wood for that machine. I’m getting full length logs 20+ft long. I have a 6 way for mine and I can do a full cord an hour pulling back resplits. With a mock log deck to stage logs at the end of the machine.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  13 днів тому

      Yeah long tree length poles would be ideal for this machine.

    Been trying to find out if an articulating loader or mini skid steer would be better for my operation. They both seem maneuverable and it comes down to lift capacity and price. What is better?

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  13 днів тому +1

      Depends what you’re using it for, mini skid will be much rougher on grass but overall more stable. Mini loaders can drive all day on lawns and not leave a mark.

    Are you seeing a lot of BLD out your way? my woodlot in Western MA is getting killed off bad, looking at potentially loosing all my beech trees.

      Lots of it, been getting a lot of beech into the woodyard. It’s the new ash.

    So I tried my moisture meter on my sox.....that HURTS! The prongs are like 3/4" long. Being serious, I'm going out and check a bunch of nuts and bolts on my 22-28.

    It seems the 6 and 8 way wedges create a lot of waste. You end up with a pile of slivers.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  13 днів тому

      The 7-way pizza box wedge I was running creates the most slash because the pieces it’s making are so small.
