You and Dan always look so happy together. And I LOVE LOVE that, as a family, you play games together around the kitchen table. It's SO important to "play" simple and unsophisticated games as a family. Keep techie stuff to a minimum!!
The world sure feels smaller as I see us on opposite sides of the ocean admiring our beautiful fall weather and enjoying the full moon. I'm in upstate New York and this autumn has been spectacular!
Loving seeing all the different mushrooms, and Dan does make me laugh #sultrydan haha. And what a wonderful little Boo basket for Phoebe too, such a cute idea! Pizza looks amazing again too! yum yum!
I also love autumn! What you said in your car reminded me of this poem which I read when I was a teen and still remember in my 50s: A Day in Autumn It will not always be like this, The air windless, a few last Leaves adding their decoration To the trees' shoulders, braiding the cuffs Of the boughs with gold; a bird preening In the lawn's mirror. Having looked up From the day's chores, pause a minute, Let the mind take its photograph Of the bright scene, something to wear Against the heart in the long cold. R. S. Oh my goodness Ali. I watched the take on pride and predgidous and it's absolutely hilarious!!! Thankyou for pointing us to it. I did mention you in the comments😉 I love seeing Dan pop up into your vlogs he's so funny😂.
I watched the super moon last night too. I is comforting to think that people on opposite sides of the world are looking at the same moon. Also, I really enjoy your drives to and from work.
I crocheted a super cute and very easy headrest cover for my friends jeep, and she absolutely loves them. I think they would look awesome on your car seats!!
You are such a good mom! Your excitement for Phoebe's "Boo Basket" made me smile! I agree with another viewer that you and Dan always look so happy together. He made me laugh more than once in this video!
Oooh so much fun. Hello Dan 🎉 from a DAN FAN🎉 your boo basket was perfect and such a sweet idea. Here in Alberta canada you can get your learners licence at 14 and drivers at 16. Its different in different Provence’s here in Canada. Yummy looking pizza’s. thank you for your lovely cheery podcast.

A Boo basket for Phoebe! How sweet! I have to say….I enjoy watching you find joy in Autumn and in driving home in late setting sun light…I really find the waning light in Autumn depressing, it helps to see someone excited for it, kind of puts a positive spin on it! I’m trying to find the joy in all seasons, but I’m truly a Summer/ Spring girl!
I’m so glad it helps! I try to do the same and catch some enthusiasm for spring and summer too, I don’t want to take any for granted. This year I made a list of what I enjoy about august to remind myself next year 😃
Hi Alli.Never heard of a Boo Basket .Easter Basket i made for my kids which they love..Cober in cellophane and put dollar bills put on the outside made them so happy.. Thanks.Take care
Mmmm the pizzas look yummy! 💕 Your car seat covers remind me of the Yarndale special colourway for Brenda the sheep. I hope Lilia is settled into Uni. It was the making of both my girls, they loved it.
Oh bless, that Boo basket was so lovely. The drive home was stunning. I have had a super walk this afternoon with beautiful light and trees. Love, love, love these vlogs. 👻🧙♀️
That light you love so much at this time of year is called the golden hour by photographers. The low sun before sunset has a golden glow. We went to Reykjavik in October half term in the Before Times and because of the latitude it was golden hour ALL DAY. Crisp and bright and the sky was a pellucid blue. Stunning. Trees are still green here in Lincolnshire, just starting to turn. Thanks for the vlogs, though I was confused by your choice of food until I realised it was pizza topping. Doh.
Loving the vlogs as always. My kids are now in their 30s and both got provisional licenses as soon as they were 17. We managed to acquire old bangers for them. They had formal lessons but I also sat with them as they both had part time jobs in the place I worked so if we were on shift together they drove, this enabled them to get some practice in. We live in a semi rural area in Cheshire so, unfortunately, cars are a necessity. Love the colour of Dan’s tee shirt, very autumnal xx
Lovely pizzas! LOL, watching your driving footage gave me high anxiety! I am in Texas and watching you drive on the opposite side and sped up, I felt there would be a head on collision any second. Enjoyed watching you and Dan!
When autumn arrives here I have the exact same feeling, I wish it would last longer... I wish I could bottle it! When the trees start to turn orange and red, and then golden yellow, aaah, the crisp air, the light. Ah, just delightful.
What a coincidence 😊 I studied in Preston, too. Back in the 90s... I wonder if The Adelphi still exists 🤔 It was a pub just down the road from where I lived in Whitendale Hall. Brings back dear memories... Please say Hi to Lilija. I hope she has as great a time as I had back then. Greetings from Germany, Chris 😊
I’m sorry Ali, Dan you are awesome! I truly enjoy your vlogs! Grateful for your company! So interesting about the drivers license! I’m in America and my 15-year-old just got her learners, Help! 😂 Our kids have a class at school and then for the most part, it’s the parents/guardian that teach them! Of course, my 15-year-old thinks she knows everything about driving already! Mom, I’ve got this!🤪
Well you sent me off on a tangent! Talking about gorgeous Autumn, Forever Autumn by Jeff Wayne sprung to mind and I had to pause you and go off to Spotify for a listen. Took me right back to my youth.
Ali thank you for the mushroom lunchtime walk & the stunning autumn tint drive home such wonderful light The full moon was magnificent loved it Saturday 19th 07.15 Dawn was the most stunning red sky prelude to the grottiest grey wet day I went to Cromer & was hard pressed to see the sea the sky was grey sea was still & grey & missed the sounds of waves On the journey back to Norwich 16.30 the sun broke through & the sky was opalescent the trees looked magical
While NZ is home now I really miss autumn and winter. It just doesn’t get cold enough here and I used to love the leaves changing colour and dropping their leaves. I even loved Scottish winters.
@@ThisLittleWonderfulLife yes it is mild compared to the UK although we have quite a big difference in climate and average temps between the top of the north Island and the bottom of the South Island. Similar to the tip of Scotland compared to the very south of England but the opposite way round. The top of the north island is very warm and lot of the time and the bottom of the South Island gets frosts and snow regularly in winter. We live in Taranaki (New Plymouth) and the whole region is built around the base of a dormant volcano, Mount Taranaki, which is usually covered in snow most of the winter. It’s really unusual for it to snow anywhere else in the area although when the wind comes off the mountain it can be really cold. Single figure temperatures aren’t unusual in winter but we only have the occasional frost.
We still have a week left at school. Can't wait to brake up. My son Jack is 9 and he loves Dan too especially because Dan likes Lego. Jack is autistic and Lego is his special interest.
Boo baskets bring such joy in our house! I love the Halloween season so much and it’s one of the fun ways to extend the fun through the October month🥰🎃👻 I love giving my little kiddos a new Halloween picture book every year in their baskets to add to our ever-growing collection!❤
When Phoebe has made a couple more loaves of bread, I’d encourage her to try making sourdough. It is so fun! My first three loaves were flat until I bought a Dutch oven. It’s immensely satisfying making sourdough from just flour and water!
I'm new to Boo baskets and it looks a great way of gifting for friends. Wow! That was a lot for Lilia's ticket even with the student card. Rail travel is expensive although as my husband worked for the railways we get free and discounted travel. I'm sure we wouldn't use the trains so much if we had to pay full price. I visit my daughter who lives near Preston a couple of times a year and it would be cheaper by car although more stressful.
That Boo basket is so cute , so sweet 😊 Do you have trick or treat , where you live ? Hayrides and haunted houses with Helloween ? I like Dan and you together , you both are so fun !!
I really enjoyed your drive home with the beautiful colors of the trees and sky - thank you! I'm looking forward to our trees start to turn and when the leave drop (I'm in southern US--Texas and we're still having our almost hot-est Fall yet.
What a cute idea making the Boo basket for Phoebe! I was only thinking the other day that the girls look so young on your avatar picture. When you mentioned your fringe and updating it, a bit spooky I thought! Those mushrooms in the grounds where you work are really spectacular this year. Take care x
What is that lovely piece of music you play on your driving intros it’s lovely. Pizza looks lovely has Dan got the recipe? Maybe he could do pizza making tutorial 😁 sorry Ali for giving him more airtime 🙈
For your bad back, you could try some pilates or yoga strengthening moves. The one I love is the Sphinx or Crocodile move. You can do them on the floor or even top of your bed.
Provisional license at 15 here in Alberta. My grandson got his on his 15th birthday. Full license at 16. He also took his test on his 16th birthday. He takes himself to school and work etc. Also works on his own vehicle with his dad.
I've been subscribed to Ben Fensome on UA-cam (booktube) for quite some time. He seems like an absolute delight, a person you would want as a friend...and consider yourself lucky to have him as a friend. While he's funny, he's also intelligent. I loved watching his booktube content. Thank you for the video.
Hi Ali and lovely Dan wink wink 😂 Have you tried toasting a bagel 🥯 and filling it with bacon 🥓? It’s a Saturday/Sunday game changer. Look forward to your vlogs every day, you never fail to raise a smile or a giggle. Thank you 😊
Stick with ACOTAR. I struggled with the first book but they get so good after that and I was so sad when I read them all. I’m now half way through the Throne of Glass series. It’s really good too 😊
I heard scotch and water too, then realized you said squash! It's funny you mentioned that you don't call it scotch being your family is from Scotland! Here in Canada there's Scotch Whisky, Scotch, Whiskey and lets add Bourbon in the mix! I don't know about everyone else but Dan's explanation of what he's going to Uni for wasn't any clearer than what you could have explained! lol I think you should put some T-shirts in your shop with 'Dan Fan!'
i WANT a matching sparkly sweater like yours! Aaaah so cute! You should definitley wear earrings more, they look great on you! Btw what are the benefits of drinking squash?
I’m thoroughly enjoying your vlogtober, thank you for taking the time to share. In other news, I’ve just read that Yorkshire tea are discontinuing their toast and jam tea!! I started drinking this years ago after seeing you mention it in a vlog, and have a cup with breakfast every day. First world problems, I know, but why do they have to mess with perfection??? 😂
Is scotch whiskey? I never knew. I thought it was just scotch (something different to whiskey). Learn something every day on Ali’s vlogs. I’m still amazed each time I look at the petrol gauge now. Our petrol cap is on the right. I know for sure now! 🤣🤣🤣
They’re to help with visibility at crossings and schools :) You can’t park or overtake in zig zag areas - white are usually for near pedestrian crossings and yellow for outside schools, hospitals, police stations etc. I think that’s right - it’s been a long time since I did my Highway Code 😄
I’m in the US…16 too young to drive! I need to add that my mother made me get a license so she wouldn’t have to drive me everywhere…we live in the country…
I hope that what we see of Dan is his true personality! I was married and he put on a good show around others. At home totally different! 😢😢 One of the main reasons I bailed after 26 years. No real sense of humor. Dan and you look very happy mostly ❤❤❤❤
I think watching you drive to work has made me feel more brave about driving in your country on the wrong side of the road on my next visit. Lol. Did you know we don’t have Squash in the US? I believe it’s an orange flavored non carbonated drink. Probably the closest we have is Hi C or Sunny D?
You can get your provisional at 16 my boys are on 50cc motorcycles but like you said Ali they can’t drive a car until 17 and it’s not cheap is it 😅my middle one is learning to drive I will be glad he’s off his motorbike but I still think he will be on a bike as well 😰 just like my hubby ! Love your vlogs ❤
We went to Westonburt Arboretum on Thursday, it was fabulous all the tree colours but the standout for me was 3 preschoolers with their Mums and grandmothers having the greatest time as the children jumped in and out of quite deep puddles, they were dressed to enjoy themselves and it made us so happy seeing all that joy.
How DARE you get in the way of Dan when he's doing domestic chores like emptying the dishwasher and you're just thinking about food?! 😂 I'm glad this is a universal argument between spouses.
In the Midwest buses and trains don’t really work well outside of a major city. I doubt NYC students get a license. My son works part time about 10-12 minutes away. There is no bus route. I drive him. In my state he is required to take Driver’s Ed in high school to graduate. He passed the class but failed the permit test which means he is not legally allowed to practice behind the wheel. The state insists everyone know the rules of the road as we call it and be set up ready to drive. He won’t be driving. If he did drive he would need insurance it would be probably close to $7000 a year. Why? He is male and in high school and they charge them a lot. More than females, a girl would be $6000. Good grades and extra classes from the insurance company might bring that down 20%. He does not make that much. He does not get many hours. If he did work the typical 20 hours a week on top of high school it would be half his check. Then gas money. When he hits 20’s it would go down a bit. But my husband and me combined pay $3000 a year for both of us. Before Covid we paid $2000 a year for my husband and me. 5 years later it’s up 50%.
Oh bless, that Boo basket was so lovely. The drive home was stunning. I have had a super walk this afternoon with beautiful light and trees. Love, love, love these vlogs. 👻🧙♀️

Awwwww, so sweet of you to make Phoebe a cute basket! I wanna do that!
Not me thinking you were lining a basket with noodles 🤣
I was thinking...that is alot of ramen......😂😂😂😂😂
Me too 😂
your drive home from work was beautiful. I totally agree about Autumn being too short and trying to savor it.
DAVID.... That made me chuckle. I love those too 😂
I also love autumn! What you said in your car reminded me of this poem which I read when I was a teen and still remember in my 50s:
A Day in Autumn
It will not always be like this,
The air windless, a few last
Leaves adding their decoration
To the trees' shoulders, braiding the cuffs
Of the boughs with gold; a bird preening
In the lawn's mirror. Having looked up
From the day's chores, pause a minute,
Let the mind take its photograph
Of the bright scene, something to wear
Against the heart in the long cold.
R. S. Thomas, Poetry for Supper (Rupert Hart-Davis 1958).

Hi there. Loving your vlogs. I’m in the market for a dehumidifier could you tell me what make & size yours is a how well you like it. Many thanks. Xx
❤
Is scotch whiskey? I never knew. I thought it was just scotch (something different to whiskey). Learn something every day on Ali’s vlogs. I’m still amazed each time I look at the petrol gauge now. Our petrol cap is on the right. I know for sure now! 🤣🤣🤣
If it's from Scotland it's whisky. If it's from Ireland it's whiskey 😁
Goofy question: what do the zig zag lines on your roads mean? Have never seen those and has always been curious. ❤❤
#mushroomtube 5:36 😊
I hope that what we see of Dan is his true personality! I was married and he put on a good show around others. At home totally different! 😢😢 One of the main reasons I bailed after 26 years. No real sense of humor. Dan and you look very happy mostly ❤❤❤❤
Hi Ally I’m loving your vlogs as always…..just wanted to ask where did you get your nightmare before Christmas t-shirt? ❤x
We went to Westonburt Arboretum on Thursday, it was fabulous all the tree colours but the standout for me was 3 preschoolers with their Mums and grandmothers having the greatest time as the children jumped in and out of quite deep puddles, they were dressed to enjoy themselves and it made us so happy seeing all that joy.
i was going to tag you into a post on instagram - someone had a crochet patten of making a boo basket halloween theme, A mummy
How DARE you get in the way of Dan when he's doing domestic chores like emptying the dishwasher and you're just thinking about food?! 😂 I'm glad this is a universal argument between spouses.
Why is public transit so expensive when they are all excessive about green stuff?
I’m starting my holiday in Kent next Saturday and hope to see a lot of autum colours can’t wait to explore .
