3x Olympian @mirabai_chanu of India working up to a heavy single rep in the weeks leading up to the Paris Olympics. Notice how much emphasis she puts into every single rep!
Might be useful to mention that she weighs 49 Kg / 108 lbs. She is lifting 2.3x of her bodyweight, that too a clean and jerk - not some deadlift!!! Insane. 2x is considered elite even for a deadlift
height isn't really a factor. If anything, it gives you a better starting position for the snatch and clean. (and being shorter doesn't help you lift more, that's a myth)
@@joemama226it's not the mass, it's the lower vertical travel of the barbell. Taller lifters need to do a higher lift for the catch and the clean, thus requiring a higher effort.
Olympians job is to train. Your job is to work 8 hour job most likely. Also they probably have way more money and can risk injuries and not lose their home. If you show up in gym then thats already amazing for average person.
A super technical lift like this isn't how you measure raw strength. Maybe she could also deadlift or back squat more than those guys, but a CnJ isn't how you'd find that out.
I don't get it, do you count the weight of the bar? What type of discs is she using lbs? Kg? Is the given weight pro side or overall weight including the bar? Please help, thanks.🎉
I wish, I could buy weightlifting shoes in my country. the closest I can do now is power lifting in the hopes of transitioning to Olympic weightlifting in the future.
@kidartist9820 yes, training with no problem, but your criteria is not correct, the heaviest atheles, (+100 kilos) do not do 2 times or more ..but they do 220 kilos ..only the lightest can do x2 , or x2.5 - x3 if they are men. So...I can do x2.5 even with my 63 kilos , I am a man
@kidartist9820 and I will not talk about doping..... That is other theme...🙄🙄all are doped. This girl with 20 years ... only did 96 kilos ... Take conclusions
Its nice seeing that there are still women who actually go to the gym to lift. I thought they all just bend over in tight shorts then scream i have a boyfriend to everyone. Keep up the good work lady!! 😎
@jemma-joon noise is a part of a gym. It's not obnoxious. If you want silence use your home gym. And implying that being a professional means you should own a gym is absurd

She is pure 💎
My collar bones hurt watching her catch The bar on her shoulders

She is Mirabai Chanu first Indian weightlifter to win a silver medal at the Olympics.
Excellent, STRONG LITTLE BUTT!!, I love her can do attitude.
Wasn't she a gold medalist too ?
@Yeahitsme101 yes she is. I Guess 3 times gold medalist in the Commonwealth Games.
Karnam Malleswari was the first woman weightlifter to win a medal for India
@@stutiswagat429 yes Bronze medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympics
She's so damn strong 💪🏽 ❤
I'm thoroughly impressed with her ability to calm her mind in order to push her body. Very well done.
That’s strong AF for her weight class and height. She’s intense.

She's a silver medalist at the Olympics. Strong AF might not properly describe it lol
@@joemama226 being shorter makes that you have to move less mass around. So the lifts are easier, that's basic physics bro
@@venivini5151 dude what are you talking about? height doesn't affect the mass you're moving?
@@joemama226it's not the mass, it's the lower vertical travel of the barbell. Taller lifters need to do a higher lift for the catch and the clean, thus requiring a higher effort.
There's a joke in there about how "clean" her technique was. That woman is a complete monster. Good lord.
She is Awesome.....period
Olympians make me feel so weak . People always say i am strong but i know better.
Chances are you are pretty strong, comparing yourself to olympians is something you should never do
comparing in general is bad, you are either boosting your ego or devaluing your progress.
Olympians job is to train. Your job is to work 8 hour job most likely. Also they probably have way more money and can risk injuries and not lose their home. If you show up in gym then thats already amazing for average person.
There is such amazement in watching the short all over and over.. she is a beast 🔥
Daaaayumn!! Impressive young lady.
I am constantly amazed by the technique and speed of these Olympic level athletes.
Way to go girl! #impressed #strong#bodybuilding#awayoflife❤
Very strong
Tiny but mighty! 💪🏼
Lil momma strong af 💪 ❤
That is wild. Congratulations on your success.
Mirabai ❤️ 💙 💜 💖!
Super strong!! Wow!!!
Him yelling like that when trying to lift would be so distracting
Very impressive. Stronger than majority of men out there.
I really don't understand why weightlifting is not the most popular strength sport.
However it appears to have too much spine movements, injury more likely
A bunch of dudes who can't even do half that weight but are twice her size will still think they're stronger than her.
(insert dumb comment about knee pain here)
A super technical lift like this isn't how you measure raw strength. Maybe she could also deadlift or back squat more than those guys, but a CnJ isn't how you'd find that out.
They probably are
It is a very technical sport. Just size does not mean strength either. Egos are another thing.
Strong girl! It’s all about technique! 👏👏👏 ‘Beat me naturally!!!💪💪💪16.3Michalitsa4’10”
Damn she a tank!
I am her fan ⭐️
amazing! making me miss those training days
That was so inspiring.
4 kg more than what she maxed out in Paris, where she struck a no-lift at 114 kg. A good lift at 114 would've made silver.
She's WAAAY stronger than i am. Damn. Time to step it up.
WOW! 115 Kg is a lot for a 49! And I thought Mihaela Cambei's 112 at the Paris Olympics was impressive!
She recently hurt her back pretty badly
That's some wild shit ngl
Go girl!!! Goals! 🤩🥳
My knee hurts seeing her do that do easily and effortlessly with technique
YEAAAH BUDDYYY! LIGHT WEIGHT!
Great technique!
That’s impressive, holy smokes
Incredible
Damn I don't think I should carry on say I am strong
Weights not lift back…
Don't hurt yourself by comparing like that. She's on a different journey. Are you stronger than you were 3 years ago? Cause that's what matters
As it kept going, I was like, "All right, there's my max for cleans." and then she kept going 😂.
Insane 😲
planet fitness says no grunting while lifting weights
I don't get it, do you count the weight of the bar? What type of discs is she using lbs? Kg? Is the given weight pro side or overall weight including the bar? Please help, thanks.🎉
Poderosa...
I agree with training to failure but some exercises are risky.
Let's say she fell, I don't know if the floor protects her enough from fall damage.
I would imagine at that level you get better at knowing where you are physically and judging risk (esp with coaches around)
SUPERGIRL!!!!!!!! WOW YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Very few comments from India.
That's the mirabai chanu olympics silver medalist
Remarkable
I wish, I could buy weightlifting shoes in my country. the closest I can do now is power lifting in the hopes of transitioning to Olympic weightlifting in the future.
Does the impact of the weight coming down on her collar bone not hurt?!
How much did she make in the Olympics?
Quick version: 115kg/253lbs
Basically what an average trained man can
Yes, but shes 49kg.can you do over 2x your body weight?
If she keeps focusing she can easily catch up to the Mountain and break a men's world record too.. you go girl
That gave me a hernia just watching
Gawwdaamn
😅 that's insane

Wow
Holy cow. That's, what? Twice her weight?
2.3 times her weight
Holy 💩
Damn

2.3 times bodyweight. Can you do 2.3 times your bw?

Would hate to exercise near someone this noisy
If you want silence go to a library, not a gym
@joemama226 if you want to be loud and obnoxious use your home gym. Someone who's supposed to be a professional would already have her own gym
@jemma-joon noise is a part of a gym. It's not obnoxious. If you want silence use your home gym. And implying that being a professional means you should own a gym is absurd
Noone is forcing you to exercise. You can stay home if you want peace and silence. Maybe read a book?
Bruh u see the trophies in the background? This isnt a public gym
