So composed backstage- and on the platform... she's a joy to watch...
    A total superstar...

I felt really sorry for the North Korean athlete, suffering from pressure and reprisals due to geopolitical issues far greater than her and over which she has no control. It’s already hard enough to maintain emotional control when you're 'just' an athlete trying to win a world title, but on top of that, having to please a totalitarian state as if she were a one-person army and being abandoned for not winning is an extremely unfair burden.

Crazy right! Thank God I live in America and thank God Trump has returned to save us. Our people will always be ok.. I just hope other countries can finally start to break away from those dictatorships too. Although it’s the stuff like that that really helps turn out some amazing athletes

Yes, psychological and possibly physical torture that she will endure when she returns will be very sad. I was watching the little ceremony thinking that to myself I was wishing there was a way that Mike and Perez could have possibly guided her to being able to defect to the US so she would not have to endure that. But unfortunately not knowing her family and life situation there May have been even worse. In the reverse side think of it this way also, let’s say the United States and always being on top and Weightlifting and the North Korean have finally meet in American with the same type of statistics that we have currently in Weightlifting for years since we’ve had a gold medalist how do you think that that person would be celebrated when they were returned to North Korea? she would’ve been heralded as not only a national treasure but most likely statue made in her honor, pictures printed on their currency and who knows what else. The sad part is our country does not celebrate hard work & excellence unless it’s tied to the media hype.

To be the only living person to have the National Anthem played for their Achievement in the Olympics in Weightlifting is dumbfounding. Olivia is the only one of over 325 Million people that can say that. 85% or more of of the USA population wasn’t even alive the last time there was a gold medalists & to beat both of the worlds elite lifters on the same day even more Phenomenal! I think that we have forgotten how to appreciate how much hard work it takes to do such a feat! If she was a citizen of just about any other country that accomplished this she would have been considered a National Treasurer!⚡️💥🏋️‍♂️🔥🥇✨😳

Weightlifting is insane. These top tier women are snatching my clean and jerk lol. I am about 93kg/205lb male and I’ve clean and jerked 125/275lb, clean and jerk attempted 134/295lb, but never made it. almost cleaned 139/305lbs once and attempted a jerk from the rack at 136/300lbs. These women are SOOOO impressive. My best snatch was 99/217 and was able to get 102/225 overhead and just barely lose it. I mean these girls are hitting 115/253lbs like it’s nothing, and more.
