What an athlete she is... Mentally and physically SO strong... total belief in herself... So composed backstage- and on the platform... she's a joy to watch... A total superstar...
I am so digging the fact that you guys keep collabing with Nate on these! She is awesome! It's so odd to me to be excited to see what comes next in weightlifting. This wasn't in me before. Love the change.
I felt really sorry for the North Korean athlete, suffering from pressure and reprisals due to geopolitical issues far greater than her and over which she has no control. It’s already hard enough to maintain emotional control when you're 'just' an athlete trying to win a world title, but on top of that, having to please a totalitarian state as if she were a one-person army and being abandoned for not winning is an extremely unfair burden.
Crazy right! Thank God I live in America and thank God Trump has returned to save us. Our people will always be ok.. I just hope other countries can finally start to break away from those dictatorships too. Although it’s the stuff like that that really helps turn out some amazing athletes
@@gleysonstabile Bang on. Your comment has ignited a fire in me and probably in many others watching this. Canada and Greenland need to become US American states, so that the spirit of the free can slowly spread across the world!
Yes, psychological and possibly physical torture that she will endure when she returns will be very sad. I was watching the little ceremony thinking that to myself I was wishing there was a way that Mike and Perez could have possibly guided her to being able to defect to the US so she would not have to endure that. But unfortunately not knowing her family and life situation there May have been even worse. In the reverse side think of it this way also, let’s say the United States and always being on top and Weightlifting and the North Korean have finally meet in American with the same type of statistics that we have currently in Weightlifting for years since we’ve had a gold medalist how do you think that that person would be celebrated when they were returned to North Korea? she would’ve been heralded as not only a national treasure but most likely statue made in her honor, pictures printed on their currency and who knows what else. The sad part is our country does not celebrate hard work & excellence unless it’s tied to the media hype.
This video is SOOO good. You guys absolutely crushed it. I’m so impressed with her and with this video! 👍 Great work! More content like this! Absolutely compelling!
Olivia's amazing, no question but, OMG the North Korean athlete just left at the venue like it was the naughty corner! She gave everything she had and still gets shamed by her own coach and team 😭😭😭
@@dabin4993crazy how different we are in handling these things considering a background and environment you grow up in. It's so sad that politics get involved in sports so much😢
I love it! Go Olivia! I feel terrible that the team of Korea’s lifter left her at the completion venue by herself. Terrible. I hope they were better to her afterwards.
Olivia's answer to the question of "how does it feel to defeat China and DPRK?" was incredible. She's a class act and an incredibly gifted athlete, what an inspiring combo. I feel so lucky to be able to watch her represent the US!
People talking about China sending the athletes with bets chance to medal. No one talking about China should be allowed to send their best athletes as long as its within the top 10 in the world and no.1 in their country
Great recap, could watch her quiet confidence all day. You know she cleans up her platform when she is done and puts all the weights away in training too 😂 Seeing the 3 golds is striking - snatch, C&J and total
She really helped me gain interest into this aspect of women's sports. Her attitude and demeanor is really what sets her apart. She is happy, takes her losses or fails well and just keeps going. Godspeed to you Olivia.
She's still young and hasn't reached that optimization stage, so I say the odds of her capturing gold next olympics is in her favor. Maybe she pulls 275 kg total soon
Thanks Guys, I really Appreciate all the work that You are doing getting this out. Overall as a country unfortunately 99.9% do not know of Olivia’s Accomplishments and how Profound it is. To be the only living person to have the National Anthem played for their Achievement in the Olympics in Weightlifting is dumbfounding. Olivia is the only one of over 325 Million people that can say that. 85% or more of of the USA population wasn’t even alive the last time there was a gold medalists & to beat both of the worlds elite lifters on the same day even more Phenomenal! I think that we have forgotten how to appreciate how much hard work it takes to do such a feat! If she was a citizen of just about any other country that accomplished this she would have been considered a National Treasurer!⚡️💥🏋️♂️🔥🥇✨😳
Check out my comments and really think about them for a minute, you are so correct that one in 1 billion athletes. I just wish our country would appreciate it a little bit more!
Weightlifting is insane. These top tier women are snatching my clean and jerk lol. I am about 93kg/205lb male and I’ve clean and jerked 125/275lb, clean and jerk attempted 134/295lb, but never made it. almost cleaned 139/305lbs once and attempted a jerk from the rack at 136/300lbs. These women are SOOOO impressive. My best snatch was 99/217 and was able to get 102/225 overhead and just barely lose it. I mean these girls are hitting 115/253lbs like it’s nothing, and more.
Idk if Max could beat her in poker. A poker face can be any version of a steady face that throws off the opponent. Her steady is a smile. You'd never know if she was holding a good hand or not.
I am 19 year old arm wrestling and weigtlifting athlete who just broke has full tear of Superasponatus muscle while over traning.Doctors are recommending me Surgery but i in fillema what to do will someone guide me through this i am in huge stress....

Great scene with toma's coach slapping her legs while olivia is just chillin, awesome camera work
yeah, cause she was injured :) but Olivia is a young goat

The North Korean coaches are cruel. Pathetic of them of treat their athlete like that.
It would be the North Koreans

She was sent to the gulag 2 weeks later 😔
Straight to the gulag to make big rocks into little rocks. I joke about it in the hope that its not true, because sadly it could be.
Next Olympics Peacock needs to hire Seb and Max to do commentary. Nice job, gentlemen, and good documentary.
This also makes me cry
Amazing work as always

I love how chill yet quietly confident Olivia is!
I witnessed it captain. You made the decision on Reeves gold at the 2024 Olympics months away. Great pick. Congrats.

This whole tournament had some amazing matchups.
Watching this again for like the 10th time, especially before WWC!! Always gives me chills and can't wait to see her lift again.

Good to see athletes enjoying themselves even under such pressure. Good for her.
The North Korean team left their lifter at the venue and made her go home separate? Brutal.

Great video!! Good work!!

Geez the 118kg snatch from Olivia in comp was rock steady.
She's inspirational af for me!!
Excellent documentary, Seb. Can I suggest cutting the "music" and letting the screams and excitement rule the video?
Congratulations Olivia, you deserve it.

Well done.

Look who is there at the bottom right corner at 6:06...
GREAT video. Loved the backstage and the interview.
Wait, NK coaches left their athlete at the competition venue? Was it because she wanted to stay there? That's pretty sad.
Like others have said, it's sad that the North Korean lifter was treated this way by her coach and team. She did the best she could.
Olivia Reeves is the best American woman ever.
Are you sure those are woman on the Chinese team.
Thumbnail was personal 😂😂
That’s a bad woman right there!
How is she squatting 400+ lbs with ease? Unreal?
