I yet another victim of this marketing scam. One would think that if you have a gps it would show you where you are instead of just a blank screen. Idk if I will buy anymore lowrance because of how scammed I feel on this. Your explanation of how to show the genesis map helped. Thanks
The best thing I have found, since posting this video, is to add a memory card, and drive around with genesis turned on. It will build out the depth info on the map in real time. Don’t have to record and mess with converting.
Thanks for posting this, and hope you could answer a question for me. I did some research before I bought the 7 T S, it cost just a few more bucks than the 7 X. I am about to install it so I've been getting all the you tube info I can on the operation, I even downloaded the manual on this unit but I still cant find a complete explanation on the genesis live. I get your explanation and understand it but my question is, if I map a section of my lake ( this is a lake that has no mapping ) by inserting a memory card and turning on Genesis live then stop recording and saving it and turning off G L Will the map remain on the screen ? or, when I go back to the part of the lake the next day do I have to pull up the file to view what I mapped ? I haven't been able to find anything where this is explained a to z. hope you can help. Thanks
Wow i wish inwould have seen this a while ago. Just bought a cmap card for my hook reveal ts. Was expecting to have ar least basic north american lake maps but the unit wont read it, just records. Not very helpful when goingbto a lake uve never been on. Very shady, wont be buying lowrance again.
If mapping is a big deal then probably want to exchange it for the version with maps. If down scan and side scan is your main objective then it’s good.

The non X version is the same but comes with maps. I’m sure you can still do structure mapping.
