Miss Spirituality he said so much for spirit. she talked exactly enough. maybe the problem is you can't listen because you're too superficial.... I read Ebonics lol
omg LOVE your braids, and you are such a beautiful person, had me smiling through the whole vid. I wanna do the braids but in gray, with a hidden rainbow in it, so exited!
I've done the yarn dreads and yarn twists in the past and I LOVE IT! But I'm gonna add these to my list. I have school next week and I'm gonna try a color instead of my usual brown and black. But thank you for the video!!! Love your personality. Unicorns are amazing 🦄
This totally inspired me!! I had a bob that i bleached to death, so I had to chop it off into a pixie! Now, is in that awkward stage of growth! I want to be able to change its length, color & style whenever I want without torturing my hair. Plus, I think it's a very protective hairstyle (since i don't need to heat up my hair) while it grows! *On my way to buy some yarn* Thank You for Sharing!!!
I love how you, unlike a lot of youtubers, had a whole section of the video where you explained everything before getting on with the tutorial. That was really helpful. Also I love your confidence and your style. Ur so cute. I'd love to be friends with you!
can you make a video showing how you take down the braids? like how you detangle, wash, etc? you are so beautiful, love the hair, the style, you are just so cute ;-;
I am so doing these today!!! These are too freaking cute and I ended up cutting my dreads off last year so my hair is still growing out from being super short and I miss long hair so this is awesome for me to have my long hair back and be able to rock the look without waiting forever for my hair to grow out!
Thank you so much for this information. I'm planning on having a friend braid my hawk with my yarn tomorrow and I needed to be clear on all the subjects you went over in this video. thank you. now I just have to hope that the colors come out in a badass order~
Thank you for this!!!! I have always been obsessed with box braids and wanted to try them out and now is the perfect time for me because I’m trying to grow out my hair and I’m itching for a change, but don’t want to do anything damaging. I’m also a crocheter and I probably have a bigger yarn stash than the craft store😂 SO EXCITED!!
No she doesn't remind me of lizzo. Tasslefairy is brighter personality and very childlike/innocent demeanor, so to speak across-the-board. Lizzo never even crossed my mind. Very different.
2024. This is probably my 10th time doing yarn twists...but there's just something about listening to you talk while I prep my yarn. Idk I suppose it just feel like we are doing our hair together
I totally dig your aesthetic! I love color and specifically spectrums or rainbows of color. I feel like as adults, we’re made to feel that we can’t use color with abandon, but why not? Life is short. Do your thing! Also, I feel like you and I are kindred spirits. I’m kind of easily distracted and quirky/whimsical. I admire your bravery in marching to the beat of your own drum. Keep being yourself!
I love this tutorial. I subbed as soon as you said unicorn lol... :) when I do my yarn braids (which I've been doing since 2001 cause I'm old as hell...) I use 2 skeins of wool yarn, and I throw them in the washer and dryer (still wrapped up in the skeins) then I pull them apart and roll them like dreads. Of course I can only wear them for a few days and then I have to take them out because of work. Ill put a base color braided in my hair (like white or black) and then after my whole head is braided, I put in my filler color (which just wraps around my base color) to fill it out. However I've noticed when you use the acrylic, when you wash your hair it dries quicker where as the wool ones will take a while to dry. Plus the acrylic doesn't stick to my hair as bad. :) also they have yarn with shiny strands in it.
Do people ever come up and touch your hair? when mine are in I always have people who come up and touch my hair without asking. I don't mind if people touch it but at least ask!!! >.
You are my spirit animal !!! You're so bright and energetic, it makes watching your videos so much fun ! I love your bedroom decor ! Room tour please !
Thank you so so so much for making this video! I've been waiting for this video for like a year! I will be trying this this weekend! I went out and brought my yarn this afternoon!
I just love that your hair and found it very cool tutorial. It is quite easy to understand. I wonder of how often you and replaces as it does to take? Again: this love his smile and his spontaneous way
I'm actually wanting to do this! I wrote down what was needed and how to do it. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to do thick braids or thin, but thank you! I'm so excited to try this out for the first time ever!
I did my braids. My hair grew so much! My hair stylist said it was just what my hair needed after the tumor damage and alopecia. Guys it saved my hair. White black its soo good for your hair!!
shi poo Whats your heritage? Im germanic, think viking and irish as well, and my ancestors wore crazy braids for battle and ease. Most cultures have used and can rock all braids.
I can tell you that anyone can successfully pull this off :) Just don't make the braids too tiny if your hair is very straight because I'm not sure if it will hold on if you make the braids as thin as her's are

Freakin' loved this! I am absolutely in love with your hair. I don't know if I could pull this off as well as you do. It seems that you have to be really confident in yourself and not care that people are staring at your magical hair. I don't know if I am there yet. :) I have actually thought about shaving mine off just for convenience sake. Do you have any pictures of yourself from that phase? Also, do the braids give you any headaches from the weight?
+Heather Maahs I've done yarn braids to my waist before--for Halloween, but I liked them so much that I kept them in for weeks. There is practically no weight at all--think about how heavy a spool of yarn is--it's like nothing, right? You probably would only need two or three, depending on how long you want the braids to be. Still, I doubt that it would be even 8 oz on your head.
I know your comment is old but I have to say if you look alternative in any way, shape, or form - goth, emo, hipster, boho . . . unicorn, etc. People stare. I am black and I have thick dreadlocks/locs . . . people are always staring at me or my hair. I got used to it. Most people are nice to me and complimentary.
2020. I'm going to try this for the first time in my 35 years of being on Earth. I'm freaking excited and nervous at the same time.

I'm going to try these braids because they are freaking so cute and colorful so I feel like I can rock this look, honestly.

I can see that they both have bubbly inviting personalities that draw you in and make you want to know all about them

Thanks so much for showing us how to do this! Yours seems so much less complicated than other yarn braiding videos I've seen.

It's really pretty on you.
I did my braids. My hair grew so much! My hair stylist said it was just what my hair needed after the tumor damage and alopecia. Guys it saved my hair. White black its soo good for your hair!!
Gurl that hair! So beautiful! How long have you been growing it out for?
I am so going to do this to my hair this weekend! How fun and inspiring. Love this look!
this is so cute but I'm not sure if it'll fit me
maybe one big braid
cause small braids like this only look gorgeous on black people
shi poo Whats your heritage? Im germanic, think viking and irish as well, and my ancestors wore crazy braids for battle and ease. Most cultures have used and can rock all braids.
this tutorial is like 5 years old, but im glad its still up because i needed it so much
Is it possible for Latino women to these kinds of braids as well if so I thinking of doing this myelf
I can tell you that anyone can successfully pull this off :) Just don't make the braids too tiny if your hair is very straight because I'm not sure if it will hold on if you make the braids as thin as her's are
Yes! This style is so much fun and so pretty. I'm white, thus I have very fine thin hair. Because of this, I have a lot of problems with my braids slipping, but I counter this by using a really sticky hair gel so the yarn has something to kind of 'grab' onto and holds better at the roots. I usually do mine about a square inch. I also recently started wrapping yarn around the braids for more of a locked look, and it adds a lot more volume and definition to each strand, which I happen to love.
Psyched Out
what do I do when they slip?
I'm not even sure how I came across this video but I'm so glad that I did. I have plenty of Yarn and my little sister wanted something different to try to her hair. This video came in handy and my sister absolutely loves the way her hair looks now. :-)

I swear to all that is beautiful you are my spirit animal and the person I wish I could be if I weren't so cowardly.
Yep, I'm in love. About to do some next month when I take my hair down. Probably will be shorter though cause HONEY! I don't have a week to spare
Im gonna trip this for sure!!!
Thanks for your tutorial! I am here for a refresher as I yarn weaved my hair years ago for a trip to South Africa. I'm mixed race and my hair doesn't act like normal white girl hair. It kinks, curls and frizzes! Grr! It never behaves how I tell it to. I have a tip to prevent the hair neglect dreading hair>wool. Put the wool in a cold wash in the washing machine first. About 20 minutes. Don't add anything to it. It needs to be raw to prevent mould or some other nasty stuff. Just think no residue!
I remember washing it in a bucket with baking soda... I'm a little hazy as to exact concoction but you can't wash weaves the same as normal hair. I like her idea of putting the braids in a pony tail and just washing the scalp! That's genius.
You are so fun and beautiful! please to more videos!!
+WoodenCrystals thank you!!
Tasselfairy I'm thinking about doing it but I'm not sure because I'm 10 and I don't think I'll take care and look good
Can I just say, you're fabulous and I'm glad I found you.

+CECEdjlykkastar hahah really think so?
+CECEdjlykkastar no they don't,she looks asian!
Literally your hair is the most amazing thing of life!
First of all, sorry for spamming comments on your video ^_^;
Second, and I apologize if even asking this is offensive, is it okay for me to do yarn braids like this if I'm caucasian?
I can't afford to bleach and dye my hair in pastels, so I'd love to do this as an alternative, but I've seen a lot of backlash from the black community about white girls getting yarn or box braids, and I don't want to offend anyone.
