The “skittles” popcorn they showed in their video looked very much like a bag of fruit ring cereal flavored popcorn my fiancée brought home from a road trip she went on a few months ago.

Werthers actually sells caramelized popcorn prepackaged here in Germany and it's sooo delicious! 😍 You can even get a version where there are pretzels in the package as well! 🤤
The first hint that it wasn't going to work was that the end result had result spherical popcorn that is only possible to buy pre-popped. The stuff that we buy and pop ourselves comes out in many different shapes but generally looks fluffy not like a tiny foam ball.
In the Original Video they’re clearly showing the round “mushroom” kind of popcorn you get in shelf-stable popcorn tins. The popcorn you pop yourself or get at a theater is usually the “butterfly” shaped popcorn which tends to go stale faster. So another indicator that the video was faked.
Not only that but anybody that's ever had fiddle-faddle can clearly tell that the popcorn that the 5-minute crafts shows as complete caramel corn, is nothing more than fiddle-faddle poured into a bowl taking out the peanut pieces to make something look nice LOL
Another thing is that the popcorn bowl at the end has more popcorn that was IN the pan and the way they showed would most likely make the popcorn soggy so yep it is probably shelf bought

You know, those candy wrappers are designed so you can just pull the sides outwards and it unwraps then you can take out the carmel/gum/etc easier... now there's your life hack. Edit: WOW I don't think I ever got that many likes, Thanks ;)
Heck, just put it in your mouth with one of the twisty ends sticking out between your teeth and pull on it. The wrapper comes right off and leaves the caramel goodness right where it belongs.
If you notice, TKOR uses the Education category to label their videos. Five Minute Crafts use the Lifestyle category, so they are technically not violating any terms because their videos are not uploaded under the label of being educational or accurate.
You could try to put a caramel coating on the top of the lid so that when the kernel explodes, the pop corn hits the lid and gets a bit of coating on it. I've done this method with hot sauce to make spicy pop corn.

I saw one that they put the skittles in & then after BOOM Colored popcorn including Blue ! There are no blue skittles in the normal bag ! Not surprised this is false :)
I try the caramel popcorn by melting the butter, microwaving soft centre worther originals then mixing the two together and mix with pre popped popcorn and it's very nice
I think adding the popped stuff to the hot pan would work slightly better, as it wouldn't cool as fast, allowing for a better coating, especially with the hard candy.

I work at a popcorn store and we make all the popcorn we sell, seeing popcorn hacks like these always make me question people.
