With all the money spent on this game’s development, heck you got Yukes developing, there was so much potential. Too many questionable decisions and directions plus placing an AEW employee (who had no experience making games) as the head of development instead of an actual game producer, this is what we got.

Also, this is kinda like wwe and aew, wwe 2k was bad, Fight forever was gonna be the alternative. Only for wwe to do a turn around and be great, and aew….well this video explained it already.
My roomie picked up Fight Forever and we have a ton of fun with it if we don't take it too seriously. I've found that it's best played with friends, particularly the mini-games and the Exploding Barbed wire Death Match. If you don't think of it as a sim, it's a much more enjoyable game. It's "Mario Party" for marks. 😂
It’s crazy how the video game followed basically the same fall off arch of the wrestling program. Miscommunications, poor planning, money just being thrown at problems and nothing changing. I feel bad for anyone who bought full price. As the video showed, AEW was given a huge opening to shine while wwe was down just like when they debuted in tv and dropped the ball.
Strangely I didn't have a great deal of those bugs on 2K20, and I played it the 2 years until 2K22 came out. But a lot of it comes down to the modes being played (Universe is often buggier than Exhibition (which I stuck to)) or even the platform being played. PlayStation generally sounds like it's been the most stable under 2K with XBOX & PC getting the worse of the bugs. So I guess I lucked out to some degree there being a PS guy. I also don't play these games online, which helps. 2K20 wasn't no perfect games by no means. I had the physics break making wrestlers get stuck and I've seen hair stretching out from time to time. But it wasn't AS broken for me as most made it seem. It was ultimately perfectly playable most of the time.
I find it ridiculous to have characters that should be already in the game (as example jamie hayter) to be a seasonpass dlc, like i get edge/samoa joe etc came later to AEW but she was very early there. I downloaded it for free and would like to play the BR mode, but cant find anyone. Sucks
It wasn’t even the graphics that brought it down. It wasn’t even some of the useless mini games eating up memory space. It was the backhanded bullshit of first putting out the “Elite” edition touting it like it was the “Ultimate” edition, and then LATER ON putting out an Ultimate Edition. So you have to buy ALL DLC if you want to have wrestlers that should have ALREADY been in the game(with the exception of Adam Edge Copeland). They fixed MOST of the gameplay glitches, but instead of putting in the rest of the MISSING ROSTER, they put shit like Beach levels and Japanese kingdoms. When they should have been putting in the new PPV settings/wrestlers. Toni Storm should have had her old and Timeless versions.
I don’t think the game is/was bad, it was just repetitive. What I do think was bad was the decision they made. Almost $30 for the smallest stuff. Trying to be exactly like WWF No Mercy. There should be more than four people in a battle royal.

LOL the only way to get "long entrances" for WWF no mercy is through mods that requires EXPANSION PAK and even that isn't even worth it. to the aew game it's literally a Mario party, tna impact, fortnite and day of reckoning and backyard wrestling 2: there goes the neighborhood clone. sprinkle in with a little bit of wwe2k battlegrounds as well. LOL 4 separate season packs and multiple individual separate packs that only has 2 and 1 stars in each in each packs are all overpriced and their likeness ain't even accurate, the hit detection in the gameplay is awful on some legends of wrestling type of shit. freakin backyard wrestling 1 & 2 is a better game than aewful trash forever game. even the awful THQ inc's raw and WrestleMania games that's only for xbox is a better game than aew game. i have a more enjoyable time playing namco's TNA mobile game, and midway's TNA '08 game than AEW game.
There is a game called ultra pro wrestling that is coming out soon it looks awesome tbh
I never really thought of buying this game because I had a feeling that because of the delay something is gonna go wrong.
The only good thing that happened after release was the inclusion of some content creators as on roster wrestlers. That was pretty cool.
It was actually fun to play with friends, but there wasn’t anything to do besides that.
Ross will you be doing more aew reviews ?
The Lack of Community Creations and match types, convinced me not to buy the game 🎯
7 match types bro, unbelievable
I am glad that I didn't waste money on their game
Welp.. Just cause someone has the money to do something doesn’t mean it will turn out good.
Just my opinion. If you disagree with it, then we can discuss in a peaceful manner.
@@UPW1915 it's nothing like WWF no mercy i own wwf no mercy and WWF WrestleMania 2000 copies for my n64. all WWF no mercy is an WrestleMania 2000 2.0 both overrated. since everybody is opinionated. y'all talk about WWF no mercy as if it's some kind of a god of wrestling games when all it is an patch updated to an below average subpar retitled WrestleMania 2000 game. lol
fucking WWF attitude is better than WWF no mercy and wwf WrestleMania 2000 combined bcuz it has variety of match types from lumberjack match, different variations of elimination matches, handicap matches, create ur own ppv, the crowd actually chants through your matches (it's more immersive), the wrestlers talk whenever they talent with different catchphrases and even mocking their opponents through their taunts voiced by the actual wrestlers in that roster that goes up to 4 on 1, a different variations and multiple variety of tag team matches from: tag team gauntlet to "survivor series match" - a tag team marathon match of 4 teams, including tornado tag team and basic tag team match even a tag team career mode and more all that isn't present in today's games and even THQ inc earlier WWF/wcw games on ps1. attitude bodies every match types and game play features of WWF no mercy out the water & no mercy doesn't have replay value.
these ate the features for WWF no mercy: singles, handicap, tag team/tornado, special guess, table, create ur own ppv, special guest ref, royal rumble, hardcore/FCA and that's it. nothing about neither games wrestlemania 2000 and wwf no mercy are special both overrated and overhyped even for it's time. the most ironic part is that THQ/AKI downgraded the entrances from long entrances (from WWF wrestlemania 2000) to short entrance in WWF no mercy for no reason. both games are barebones especially wwf wrestlemania 2000 that game literally has nothing in it for u to do.
LOL AEW game is so bad that PlayStation put it up for free on their monthly ps+ service and aew game player base is only 62 players currently on steam and it' still dropping, it's completely dead on consoles. and the false advertising when they marketed the game is complete nostalgia bait
@@Oldschool1943😮you know, I’m 35 and I have never thought of Attitude that way, shit I think you’re right, that commentary, crowd chants, unique voice grunts, he’ll even blood all over the wrestlers, would make it better, but it was that 🐕 💩 Acclaim Mortal Kombat SNES Era ass controls that kill it 😂. My brother and I used to put time on Attitude though.
I never had a problem with WWE 2K20
Speaking of Wrestling Games you gotta try out the SmackDown games as well as the SVR games!
When I brought it I had to wait for a update to play it cause it would crash every time you try to do anything
I still never got the chance to play AEW Fight Forever
don't waste your money and time.
i’ve been playing video games 40yrs give or take (AEW Fight Forever isn’t so much a Wrestling game it’s more a Arcade Fighter with elements of Wrestling within it. It’s utter garbage especially in the modern age (I’m surprised anyone was grifted into buying it on day) Gamers can be very cheap not even worth $15 it would’ve worked much better as a free to play game (But, you’d pay for extras) but, the people at AEW are clueless how the real world works
An absolutely garbage game where you have to pay for absolutely everything and with a poor roster where more than 75% of the wrestlers are missing, it has quite a few bugs and a poor customization system, I was scammed, they did not want to return my money and no one wants to buy this from me garbage game, tony khan should be sued for this scam
Selling wrestlers that their fans watched on weekly tv was so predatory. Make it even worst it was 1 at a time with months in between
@@MR.__Gimho, issue aibt "current wrestlers as dlc"... issue is bang for buck.
WWE has packs with multiple characters for, over all, less.... even if June's DLC was a bit meh and this months is dismal.
More like AEW: Fight a few matches as Jeff Hardy and get a full refund 💀
