*PET* I'm glad your pops likes his new bike! He is a sweety. He has been coming in drooling over it for like two months before he pulled the trigger! He was either looking at the axle sliders, or the swingarm spools. If you want to ride one, once we get our next demo bike, come on by!

Dads are the best! These things on the bmw s1000rr are for the rear stand. You can get some bar end mirrors. Once you get used to them filtering seems pretty effortless :)

i know easy trick to make your dad's bike louder. on the end of exhaust is little metal thing and you can unscrew that little thing inside on the end of exhaust and and thats the trick and it will make big diference in sound

Troy M do you even ride? There is a difference between lane filtering and lane splitting the crashes are often from going above 30 through lanes and then not seeing it. I lane filter even though it’s illegal but lane splitting is different and more dangerous. Even though it may sound the same.

Hey Kat. Those things on your Dad's bike that he was asking about are called "Spools". They're used to prop up the bike on a stand. Great vid. Keep it up.
The rear had two sets of spools? Does that sound right?
I know what they are because I use a stand
I'm a CBR guy myself...not sure about 2 sets. I tried to pull up some other pics of that bike and haven't seen anything but the spools back there.

One day I will cross that bridge on a bike. I live on the east coast tho.
Come on over and do it. The Bay Bridge is cool but you have to take in the Golden Gate bridge, the Marin headlands and then go up Highway 101 through the "rainbow tunnel" and rev the shit out of the bike.
If you come down here during the summer, a ride up Hwy 50 to Tahoe and then back via Hwy 4 (Ebbetts Pass) is a must. Ebbetts is just an amazing single lane road though the Sierra Nevada and is one of the few roads that is really made for motorcycles. Once you get back the valley, Hwy 4 is as boring as shit but the ride to get there is something you'll never forget.
Kat should have a fan ride up around Tahoe or Berryessa!
