People with depression often experience persistent fatigue that isn’t relieved by sleep, making daily activities feel overwhelming.

I got myself a border collie and she has helped my depression more than any medication or therapy has in 18 years! It obviously isn't going to work for everyone but she forces me to get out for at least 2 hours a day and is a huge conversation starter - I am finally talking to people. Not to mention the snuggles and company etc. If you aren't in the position to own a dog, maybe ask to walk a friends regularly? 😊

I started going to therapy thanks to this channel. The content and the way it's presented helped me finally take that step. Thank you so much, and congratulations on the excellent work!

This was good to listen to. I don’t think exercise is beneficial just for mild to moderate depression. I have had episodes of MDE through out my life and to be honest it’s what has helped me the most ( + medication ) I’ve just started to recover from a very long severe episode. For me getting out of bed in the morning putting on my swimmers and driving a short distance to a hydrotherapy pool was doable . I found doing Aqua aerobics not only gave me mh benefits it was the only part of my day where I socialised with people ( small supportive group of people) after the class I would stay and swim laps for about an hour . I would leave feeling so peaceful , the water was warm and nurturing . To be honest I would say that pool probably saved my life .

A very interesting discussion. I hadn't heard of applying CBT for better sleep, so will certainly explore this strategy. Thank you, gentlemen.

I loved this! I have a request, could you please cover Premenstrual dysphoric disorder and how its not the same as regular PMS? I have been suffering it for several years and I know some females like myself too but they are not aware of it. Thanks!

I love this! It would be really helpful if you could timestamp it a bit more to make it easier when I share with friends and family to point them to certain parts of the conversation :)

can you do a video on differentiating depression from schizophrenia's negative symptoms? I'm curious cause there's a REALLY good chance that I'm schizoaffective and have been since I was a child. problem is the psychotic affects have gotten milder over the past two or three years and I'm starting to question whether it's schizophrenia or just bad bipolar. I rarely even get what I consider to be severe depression or mania anymore. seems like it's mostly just mixed episodes now and it's getting hard to tell what's what.

i would love to see you talk to someone about gender dysphoria and other gender related issues, if its not something u specialise in, it would be cool if you had someone on in the podcast who could share some info! im trans and still very early in my transition, i talk to my therapist about it but we often talk about other stuff a lot more. could just be interesting to hear from you on the topic!

I believe the biotypes can have a bigger benefit from medication than other types. Even if the root is in the gut.

Anhedonia...its all boring, is loss of pleasure connected to changes in concentration/attention.

I never understand the silence on micro dosing psychedelics when we’re talking so much about the importance of neural pathways. It’s disappointing as a patient to see constant studies replicating positive results coupled with absolute science from the clinical side. Other than that this was a lovely podcast :)

Having 200k a year is important,
Could it be modern warfare, government corruption, famine, disease, inequality, infant mortality, disease and a normal reaction to the world cause depression and anxiety?
    I suggest diet, exercise, sleep.
    Thanks so much.
