one common fault i forgot to mention is the scroll knob ... this is a common fault also and it will definitely fail on you eventually before the lifetime of the car...i experienced this first hand which is why i made a video about how to replace it if you wanna check it out here it is • Mercedes Benz w204 HOW...

but this video focus' on my own car and my own journey
i just wanted to share my personal experiences,
with what i have had to deal with , even since owning my car
which now has 100,000kms on the odometer
but still going strong, hopefully it keeps going...fingers X
i know there are probably more that i haven't mentioned, but that's because i personally haven't gone through the experience yet...
however im sure down the line sometime it may occur..

i love my car and have always wanted a w204 c300, and actually never thought id buy one, its my absolute favorite of all the classes and models..apart from the C63
i adore this shape and love the way it looks SO SEXY

first time owning a mercedes c300 and wasn't really sure to keep it long term but I love the way the car handles even do I ran into the exact same problem but took it for repair and love the way it drives in sport mode. Awesome videos bro

I appreciate your advice..Never had a Mecedes Benz, probably never will just been trying to help out a friend who has a 2011 c300 . It apparently had a parasitic battery drain when he got it . I assume a module is not going to sleep . Then he had the steering wheel lock failure as you described and now a no start no comm between ecm tcm ..After watching a lot of u tube videos apparently there is water introduced into the cabin from different sources . Sun roof drains , from the front sam and from the air cabiin filter area . All this can cause the can networks to fail and its not pretty . Check you floor area for water . Also water in the front sam unit also i a problem.. These cars are very nice but water introduced into the cabin and electrical problems may sour your thought on the Benz . Good luck

ahh yes ..thats sounds like a good idea... u know anybody can do it also all u have to do is start with the time for instance 3:15 and it will automatically goto that time stamp ... but good suggestion.. i guess i just figured scrolling through would be easy too... but ur right its would help ppl find what they are looking for .... thanks mate....
Just for the info on the 2010 c300 there’s been a total of 3 recalls. 2 airbag problems and a tail light wiring issue.

Opinion has changed so much. Hate this car. Just got it a month ago and had to replace the entire fuel sender unit. Now it just turns but won’t start. F me dude
I feel ya man... some of us aren't fortunately enough to have a well taken cared of car.. I'm still experiencing issues ..but small ..nothing major .. but yes I do hear alot of stories about issues...

I have a c280 2009 which I bought recently.. At cold start the engine sometimes idles poorly for around 10-15 seconds but sometimes no problem.. I suspect a manifold problem? Can you advise..
Clean your maf and look for any gaps or leaks on intake. Inspect front off manifold for damaged or stuck levers.

If u have money u can always get it serviced ..if Ur not financially comfy then I would learn diy ..watch UA-cam videos. Get good with tools. Tools are an investment. Can only be beneficial in long run. Do your research, know what to look for, watch UA-cam reviews, drive it , look in engine bay, ask for standard details like service history, do your due diligence

secondary air pump is real easy buddy it's basically right under the engine cover ... hope you change it soon ... I'm sure u can do it yourself friend it's not that expensive buddy about 200 aud maybe cheaper Ebay is a great place to start never buy from Mercedes they will rape you sideways ....

always try look for the issue first ... before throwing parts at the car hoping to fix it ... just so u are more sure its the issue and that way tour not scratching your head after replacing a part and it doesn't solve the problem..I learnt the hard way and did that .. that's why I wanted to stress how important it is to narrow down the issue and trying to pinpoint before changing parts..with that said I hope u do solve your issue bud... all the best to ya

Hi! I have a question. My daughter has my older car (just turned 16) it’s a 2010 c300. It all of a sudden has such a strong fuel odor. It’s strong on the driver side in and outside of the car. BTW, my driver side is the left side. We live in the USA. Any ideas? Really hoping we can fix this on our own bc the prices here to have Mercedes fix is insane! Any help would be very appreciated! most likely leaking fuel filter and line ..check under the car once u park is there any liquid on the floor or u der where engine is ... open the bonnet check for leaks and smells

Hi Mikey, I have a Japanese spec 2010 C300, here in NZ. My daylight running lights are not going in the daytime, but are lit at a reduced output in the dark. Any thoughts as to why they aren’t going in the daytime? Graeme
ur auto light sensor on windscreen or your ballast for your headlights check these start with an obd2 scan .. a proper one that does mercedes that way it can. tell u what's wrong and even narrow it down for u

can you do a video on the issue when the audio stops working it's either on the sub/amp or I don't know what it could be but it seems like it's a very common issue with Mercedes when the stereo stops working.

I have low beam problem on passenger side. Even if changed low beam still passenger side color is yellow. First couple day both was white then turn yellow again.
that sounds very strange , is the headlight yellow? or the lens of the headlight?? or is it making the light bulb glow yellow? have u tried using a white led bulb to see if the beam is white ... for it to go yellow, seem like aa faulty bulb or maybe u touched the bulb with your fingers, i have seen it happen when you touch the actual bulb with your haNDS, THE CONTAMINATES ON YOUR HANDS CAN MAKE THE BULBS CHANGE COLOUR..ITS A STRETCH BUT I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN FIRST HAND

Hey MIKEYZ, I recently have a ESP (n30/4) trouble codes: (C2000) The supply voltage of control unit "N30/4 (Electronic Stability Program control T unit)" is too low (undervoltage), and (C3208) One or more signals sent from control unit "Combustion engine" via the CAN bus is implausible from my Bluedriver OBD reader. Also it says they are "NOT PRESENT" according to the data report I downloaded onto my computer. Any idea what this might be?

Low voltage i check the supply and ground circuits . Today i watched Paul Danner fix a bad reference circuit on a Benz . It was corrosion on a fuse in a panel. Water had gotten on the fuse.. Check voltage on a loaded circuit
And where do you buy all the body work and parts from?
I get it from Ebay and also I check the web for other sites I my country that sell certain parts ..if unsuccessful I try to import them from other countries... but Ebay is a great place to start... as for the extras like addons and bling parts I get them from aliexpress
but eBay does have OEM parts for Mercs?

only the esp fault wen disconnecting battery but that corrects itself from a drive and turning the wheel all the way left and right..sorry can't say I have as yet man

if u disconnect your battery properly and wait 20m before starting ..no ..u will not trigger a single error ... that im sure of

M276 3.5L V6 is the nrw improved engine from 2011
They are also known for snapping off the front drive shaft, which can cause a lot of damage.

Mine snapped doing 60. Hit my transmission but not much damage what it did do was break my transfer case shaft. Had to rebuild my case for around 2800$ 126k miles

I’m thinking about getting a C300 that’s 2009, the car fax looks great the car seems good, is at 97k miles. Just trying to see the maintenance cost of the car and reliability of it.
honestly ther are a few issues with this car if u can look past them and diy its still worth it i believe .if u thimk about it all cars have to.be maintained to have long life

Any issue with cold start up rattle for about 3-5 seconds. Heard could be defective Chain tensioner ?
not that I know of..
It will be the cam adjuster probably. They use to rattle for a few seconds until the oil prssure builds up. Not a big deal, pretty common on higher mileage engines.
Hi. Please I need help on c204 c200 2007. Radio runs on and off on it's own after being turned on. Tried taking fuses out and even the battery overnight. I need your help to fix this. The radio plays for a few seconds then on/ off just like that

The first thing to do is have the car scanned with a star diagnostic tool...thereby narrowinh down the issue..electrical faults are hard to find without the right equipment...its almost sensless me trying to guess ...i strongly recommend have the car scanned for faults...hooefully a module has recorded the fault and stored it.... ive also done some.research as to some other ppl who experience the same issue ... u need to check for disconnections in your headunit..for example... whether you have something like an ipod connection and it was replaced or removed and the person who did it did not properly disconnect or leave the module or cables connected therfore causing an issue... its happened before ...sounds wierd but without more info hard to pinpoint

Honestly saying, I had played around with the ENGINEERING facility and when I recall, I may have assigned rear camera to "installed" whist it's there but was working without having the ENGINEERING mode being set to installed. Can that be the cause sir?

At around mileage do these issues start showing? I’m thinking of picking up a model that’s got under 65000 miles
well some are random.. but I would say about 65000 ..but example my esl died at 90000kms which is about that ... and other things around that too but like I said some ppl go to 100000mls and no issue.. just depends .. u might get lucky
I have a 2008. C300. My rpms bounce and it lags a little the back shakes a little and also no codes are there. It takes a while to get up to speed
that sounds like an issue with your intake manifold ... or the throttle body... lagging is also a sign of an airleak too... wierd no codes ...

really ? I didn't know that ..what do u mean exactly ? which exterior light switch? I just meant it drains so fast even if u leave your car lights on for about 20 mins sometimes u cant even start ur car...but thanks u for letting me know I really appreciate that ... MIKEYZ VLOGZ it a common problem on the w204. You must replace the actual switch in order to fix the issue. The switch goes bad and sadly the only fix is to replace it.
Symptoms are draining battery and parking lights staying on.
uhm one question, what other cars run at 50 to 70 degrees Celsius normally? I thought 90 degree Celsius is the norm.
my old Honda was half way so about 5 to 70 Max
How offen you need to change the ATF and Spark plug ?
i belive spark plugs should be done every 20 - 30 dont quote me ill find out and atf should be evey 60k

hey there mate... welcome to the channel... personally for myself I always try Ebay and online parts stores as they are most probably cheaper then actual Mercedes dealerships and I go for oem verified parts ... try Ebay Amazon and tour local European parts stores .... as I haven't had to replace those parts before I cant give u a definitive answer ... having said that be sure to do research with prices and compare price and quality and consider ease of warranty and service
It is Now A RECALL , Go to the Dealer ASAP or your car will go Boom, 2008-2010
2011 cars have replaced on the Assembly line from the manufacturer
A guy in Mercedes parts told me the reason for all of the plastic problems is because the German government requires recycled plastic to be used for car parts. He said there would be very few problems if it was like the Japanese gov allowingwhatever makes the car last the longest.
so take away is buy Japanese..no wonder they make metal parts of certain parts like pulleys ..etc so u can upgrade and make the car last

I dont have this engine i have the older m113 my ml430. i heard of the balance shaft gear issue and the variable cam gears rattle issue on this dual cam engines. have you looked into that?
no jowever i have heard that there can be rust build up on the under the rear axle causing it to deteriorate and mercedes actually know about this issue and in a russian article it has stated that some ppl have even gotten a new rear end undercarriage due to this issue...worth looking up ..there are soany faults with this model ..but depending on your make will also determine what issues you face..newer models have less issues due to merc solving them along the way

these regular checkups should be done say once a month ...a good in depth check of everything so u are sure that nothing has malfunctioned or broken etc...its the best way to keep your car in the best possible condition regular preventative maintenance.. thats why we call it preventative maintenance we try and prevent the issue from happening..but with that said.. sometimes an issue can happen out of the blue regardless of the checkups... but at least wirth the regular checks u can find and get to a problem before it causes any other relates issues..just my 2 cents

I doubt it as the amg has different features and is programmed different.. for example the cluster is programmed differently and looks different too.. but u might be able to make it work as long as u can code it and sync it

imho driving "like an idiot" to me means..... driving your car as if it were a high powered sports car and dragging everyone you see at the lights, flooring it every chance you get.....drifting it.... doing burnouts....donuts and doing things it wasnt designed to do... thereby putting your car under alot of stress every time you get in your car.... thus not taking care of your car the way you should ...after all your driving a luxury car not a sports car.... dont get me wrong that doesnt mean you cant floor it every now and then ... in other words take care of your car including regular checks and services and it will last.....

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ unfortunately yes every Mercedes from 2008 to 2010 has this problem. They corrected the problem camshaft balancer in 2011 but yet nothing has been done to the 722.9 transmission. Having being a Mercedes Tech I could tell you anything and everything that is wrong with that car.
At what miles/kms does the camshaft balancer go bad usually,

Engines made after this serial were fine M2729..30.468993 if your engine serial is below these numbers you have the weaker metal used in your crankshaft balance gear, dual row timing chain and chain guides.

not fix just do preventative maintenance and regular checks.. some ppl can lucky never to experience an issue just depends how you treat your car.. these are just some faults to be aware of..like I said not everyone will experience the issues..but thse are common faults with the w204..... but honestly if u use Toyota maybe last longer..lol
Also there is no preventative for the Transmission. Changing out the transmission fluid Wont help this problem so if you have a 722.9 you better do your homework because that is a faulty transmission and a catastrophic one, 😂😂😂. German Engineering 😥😥😥
yes irs very sad that mercedes have all these issues ... hence if i had known about all these issues prior to buying one i maybe would have gone for a different car ... but in the end ive always loved this car and shape so still happy

I having a ESP malfunction and check engine light at the same time i have a c350 2008
did it happen after you did something to the car or did it just appear out of nowhere ??? usually something triggers these things like a low battery or electrical connection unplugged whilst car is running ...therefore throwing a code.... sometimes depending on the seriousness of the issue of ESP it can be fixed by turning wheel all way to left and right ....i think has something to do with telling the car everything is ok with steering relating to esp fault as for check engine light there can be many factors ...best thing to do here is scan fault codes and see what errors your getting .... should always be tour first option when getting malfunctions.... imho...... hope u get it sorted asap i know how it feels to get random faults...very frustrating
It happen of nowhere... i was driving and i push the gas hard to run fast and do a little burnout and then the car loose power and turn the ESP light then i turn of the car and turn on again and the light disappears and the car runs good again but i press the gas hard again to run fast and happen again but this time turn the chek engine and the ESP light at the same time
