- Welcome back! We will be doing a service B On the W204 which will include, Synthetic oil change, oil filter replacement, OE Bosch Spark plugs, replace air filters and the one thing I forgot to order was the "Cabin Filter"! You will need a higher end scanner to be able to reset any A or B service on the cluster.
Why pay the dealer so much money for a routine maintenance? Let's dive into the process!
The following was done off camera, windshield fluid top off, brake fluid check, power steering fluid check and correct tire pressure on all four tires.

You should put dialectic grease on the boot before installing on the spark plug to keep it from being stuck when you remove it, the plugs should be torqued at 18 ft.lbs and the coils at 10 ft.lbs.

Good informative description... I always blow out the spark plug holes before taking the plug out... I have the same Milwaukee cordless ratchet... Excellent tool
Ohhhhh yes!!! That Milwaukee ratchet makes life much easier!
Thank you for the video
@@Chorchas68 No problem.
Awesome video you made here. Quick question:
"Is the C300 (W204) the same as the C350 (W204) in terms of the maintenance you carried out in this video; can I expect to get the same view of parts in the same location? For instance, in the C350, is the transmission dipstick located at the rear of the engine near the firewall as it is in this C300 that you worked on? Are the coil packs of the plugs the same in appearance, etc?"
Thanks again for this video.
@@AhmadDanHamidu as far as the c350. Replacing the spark plugs are a little more challenging. This car comes with a 3.5 motor. That means the coils packs are tight against the side firewall. Coil packs are slightly different more on the squarish side. The c300 has the more rounded coil packs. Also I think for the c350 you need the special socket with 12 splines to remove the spark plug. You’ll definitely need some wobble sockets to work on the drive side. Overall if you take your time the job is not that bad!
What about the coolant:break fluid /and windshield fluid???
Thank you
I thought that the Service B also included replacing the brake fluid.
Do you have to disconnect the battery before doing this?
@@MlMlMIEURO there is no reason to disconnect the battery.
Great video! Subscribed & liked.
Thank you for your support! Will have more videos on this vehicle platform!
I can never find an answer, but why do some c300s have dual intakes and some only one? Ive got a 2014 c300 sport and its just one.. i thought maybe its was just one the 350s or other bigger models
@@richardmccormack84 oh there’s definitely a difference. Anything over 2013-2014 c300 it has the 3.5 motor. Everything 2012 below have the 3.0 motor which has the dual intakes. Replacing the plugs in the 3.5 can be more challenging for sure! Now that you mentioned it, out of all the c300 I came across. I’m yet to cross a 2013🤔🤔🤔🤔?
You are superb. Great work thank you
Thank you!!!
Great music love it
Thank you!!
do you need that tool you used to pull out the oil filter or could twist it by hand as well ?
If your oil filter was tightened hand tight then you can remove it by hand no problem. But if it’s hard to twist off you’ll need a oil filter wrench or oil filter remover. They are inexpensive.
@@Fwerks.1592 thank you
Can you list all the tools you used?
Of course!! I do apologize for not listing.
5/8 spark plug sockets.
flat head screwdriver
T-30 socket.
3/8 ratchet.
3/8 extension.
Bosh Platinum Iridium (Fcp Euro).
Hope this helps!
@@Fwerks.1592 It does, thanks
The shop was gonna charge $600 for this. Can i use a $50 obd2 device to reset the odometer? If not, which one would you recommend?
One of my buddies got a quote from the dealer for spark plug replacement. They were quoting $714 for spark plug replacement, $688 for the service B and front sway bar links for $560!! I notice with Mercedes you need to have a decent scanner to reset the A& B service. I tried doing it with my cheaper launch scanner and it was a no go. Look into the hand held foxwell scanner that should def do the job. Check Ecs tuning website, they have a variety of scanners!
@@Fwerks.1592 I am from Germany and I own a 2011 C204. In my German version I can simply reset the services interval without scanners using the service menu in the bordcomputer, isn't that possible in the US?
@@car.passion8663 , interesting! Here in USA you can reset the odometer no problem. When it comes to resetting the A & B service you really need a good scanner to be able to reset it properly. Otherwise you will always have the message that displays “ Service B is ___ days past due”. I think that’s a way for car manufacturers to get you back into the dealer!
@@Fwerks.1592hmmm I just hold down 2 buttons on my steering wheel to access the menu then reset from there
@@k_sirps585 good stuff! I’ll give that a try and see if it works for me.
Thanks for the video. Quick question, I’ve been experiencing something lately with my 09 C300, it doesn’t happen all the time but when I’m driving and I press on the breaks approaching a light, when I stop, my car will just shut off. And I have to take the keys out and restart it again. Do you have any idea what that may be about? Thank you.
Good question! Do you have any check engine light currently? Have you tried scanning the c300? It can be a few things that may cause this. It can be a fuel problem or it can be something related to air. Does the car start right back up? I had a similar issue with my BMW when I would come to a stop at a light my car would shut off. I would have to put it on park and restart my car and it would start fine. Again it did not do it often just sometimes. I scanned my car and it was a stuck actuator from the throttle body!
@@Fwerks.1592 WoW, the same issue you had with your BMW is the same issue I’m having with my Benz. I do have my check engine light on however, according to my mechanic it’s due to my ABS module being damaged.
@@BabsOlowo , not sure if that abs module would make the c300 shut off!
@@Fwerks.1592 no it’s been like that for a while but the reason my check engine light is on is because of my ABS module being damaged, according to the mechanic.
Ok
Please check the flexi water pipe jst at the bck of ur engen,it's a small pipe, broken, need to be changed..R300 backs for it
What I would give to know how to do this including using the tools well to quickly and smoothly do the job.
Practice
Love it great job respect 🙏 🫡
Thank you!
This is a pre-facelift W204. The facelift W204 is a lot harder to do.
This is not a pre facelift, this is the facelift model. You can tell by the shape of the front headlights
you were doing good until you started to play MUSIC
I’m sorry! I’ll try to keep the music out next time. Thanks for the feedback!
