Imagine carrying a genetic condition badly impacting your life while knowing your parents could do something about it. Just imagine and say it's immoral doing something about it at the beginning.
Good point, however, presently in the United States you can go for genetic counselling and see what genes are carried in your embryos (Ex. Huntingtons) and choose the embryo that is not affected before inseminated.....the problem is that everyone can not pay for genetic counselling unless your insurance offers coverage, etc..
Understandable, but there are issues preventing this. Its very expensive, as in 1.2 million dollars expensive. We also do not know enough to be able to safely say we can use this and have it consistently better the baby. To go with that it can be immoral, gene editing could spiral into using it for the wring things, going into what could be considered eugenics.

@Pedro Fernandes do you really want to risk bringing the eugenics war to reality from sci-fi? Edit: also balanced nutrition, regular exercise and a well rounded education system can achieve that far safer and simpler than changing human DNA
We have had a form of designer babies pre ww1 and in ww2 done by Germany that why people are scatters within DNA The superman , the Uberman he stole Anglo angels their was not the only ones to do so ! .
