Then, when we see this so-called elite tough training Sgt Van is wearing a beret with no idea how it should be worn properly, i.e. a crap-hat
I was just a lowly LAC who joined the RAF back in 1971 with a mix of other recruits who compared to Army or Marine recruits we did 'just' six weeks so we could march out on a passing day parade and only about 2 hours on the firing range BUT we were all taught how to wear our berets so we did not look a right prat as this Sgt Van.
We were taught to soak our berets in boiling hot water, put them on our heads, pull the twine to make a knot at the back of our heads, and then most of all, shape the fold by pulling it pull it down at the correct angle over the right side of our heads, which we continue to do every day, so the beret would look smart and not a crap-hat.
Often these films have ex service personnel as advisors, some such films have the actors join a recruit school and pass out with the soldiers. Often you can see, even though it is a film, a director and actors but time, effort and practise has gone into getting scenes military correct BUT even then you still see actors in smart uniform wearing their berets as crap-hats.
WHY???
continuing so the fold

Heck, the way things are now it's hard for a white male to get into the academy. Lots of women are flooding into Westpoint. It's gonna be a problem in 4+ years because the combat arms will lose qualified leaders. But the mission of the US military is to protect Washington D.C.

Even though this is a fictional movie it makes me crazy in reality many people fall for conspiracy theories and lies and limit there investigating facts by whatever political view they prefer. We are a doomed world if we dont look at all sides and investigate subjects deeply before making a final opinion. As someone who studied history for nearly 6 decades people always ask me how did the German people (Not all just many) fall for the BS the Nazi party spewed out with there nonstop propaganda for the dislike of Jews specifically i say history always repeats itself in one way or another prime example in 2024 in the good old USA with mainly one certain political party spews lies and conspiracy theories which builds there leader to be someone to worship similar the way the Germans did with Hitler prior to WW2.Bottom line don't fall for political BS do your own research dont rely on news organizations or cult leaders for information.
You are mostly right, but I'd like to see a better example of history repeating itself in reality. I've heard that and read that my entire life, but I'm not convinced it's ever actually happened.

If anything, you should be proud of it. You seem to hate us Jews so much that you would deny that we died in the millions. Not just us. It was 6 million Jews But it was a total of between 19 and 22 million total deaths in the Holocaust at the hands of the Nazis. We're talking about Jews, poles, slavs, Romani, Lgbtq, The crippled, any left-wing opposition, And countless pows across all nations. People like you should be ashamed of yourself for denying such horrors ever existed.
The number was about 12,000,000 . The Israelis only remember the 6 million Jews ignoring the other 6 million. There are (were) 10s of thousands of eye witnesses, not just the survivors but troops from multiple armies and civilians such as the Red Cross personnel from multiple countries.
