This series aims to show the best vehicles to use in GTA Online in a racing situation. That is, around a regular circuit with a mix of corners and straights. The word "Fastest" means nothing without some context - these are the fastest vehicles around a circuit. How Lap Times Were Obtained Accurately
The best lap time a vehicle can achieve around a circuit determines how good it is and therefore its place within this list.
Each vehicle was taken around the same circuit multiple times, with the best lap time being recorded. For most vehicles this equates to 10 laps per vehicle, but can often be more to ensure the absolute best lap time has been achieved with the vehicle. There are some caveats to this kind of testing though which are worth explaining below.
*Due to UA-cam description length limits the information that should be placed here can instead be read in full here: gtacars.net/gt.... I recommend reading this for anyone who is confused, interested, or doubts the validity of the results in this video as it explains in great detail the extent to which these results will be useful for you personally, in addition to linking the track used for your own testing/comparison.*
So with that all being said, my vehicle testing should be taken as a guideline. The testing is very accurate for this track and similar tracks when cars are driven close to the maximum without any extra refinements. At the very least you should be able to use this testing to help narrow your field of view for your own personal testing. I would always recommend testing a variety of cars yourself and take into account what kind of tracks you're racing on, what is better for you and your skill level, and even your budget. My testing is meant to guide you, not tell you exactly what to use in every situation.

It’s been so long I genuinely forgot there were still unreleased cars
It's been so long i stopped caring
It's been so long i stopped racing
It’s been so long I stopped breathing
It's been so long that I stopped playing GTA Online entirely.
Its been so long i stopped.
The spoiler thing is funny because irl those roof flaps only flip up when the car is spinning, they help keep the car on the ground when something has gone wrong, also they are totally passive and are only deploy because of the air passing over them in the wrong direction.... This is totally are rockstar invented thing. I would have preferred a more realistic roof flap but I guess rockstar gonna rockstar.
It was making me crazy watching the flaps popup like that. Like you said it's a completely invented R* thing. It's like like someone saw a picture of NASCAR roof flaps, but had no idea what purpose they serve. So they just made one up.
@@CoachWargothats exactly what happened
Hotring Hellfire, in addition, is the first of the three hotring cars we have now, that doesn't have the slowing handling flags
Yeah, it just have the flag of being slow
@@afxtwinreverb 🤣👎
Strange that they made the flaps increase down force and not, you know, drag? Which would make it slow down more when breaking and would actually work like a real air brake. That's of course ignoring the fact that these flaps dont actually work like that on a real car and are meant to only raise when the car spins and is speeding along in reverse or sideways to slow the car when it loses control.
Fun times
Thank you once again for the quick release Broughy! What a journey from all those years ago when it was a suprise that the Entity was faster than the Adder!
I was waiting for the "and there's hsw upgrades that gives it stats to put it top of the supers class"
The very best thing about having a car that is faster if you use the brakes is that the ONLY time you are ever going to use it is in the Hotring races. Where you never use the brakes. Ever.
Not unless you're on Zancudo
Yeah the less braking areas the worse the hellfire will be comparatively to the other two Hotring cars
@@broughy1322 I've never done any hotring races. I imagine that in most of them there will be little to no breaking? If that's the case, I assume the best one for most races is the Everon due to its higher top speed?
in those races the flaps have the real life intended purpose, regaining control when spinning
I love dumb tech in games so this thing is right up my alley. If only I hadn't already given up on this game and uninstalled it I would love to mess around with this thing
Also for anyone who wants an exact number on that ridiculous WDV with the flaps up, it's 0.229. For comparison, a normal car without a spoiler (and this car without the flaps raised) is 0.035. A normal car with a spoiler is 0.07. An upgraded RE-7B maxes out at 0.15313. An LM87 maxes out at 0.16. A DR1 with the lowest downforce setup maxes out at 0.189. A DR1 in its standard setup maxes out at 0.315
Those WDV values are just crazy 😅
LMFAO "Weird and broken." That sums it all up quite nicely.
That's actually awesome. It introduces some skill
Thank you Broughy, excellent video, as always. I just noticed that the Hellfire is free to all GTA+ members.
It’s more complicated to fail so regularly.
R* logic is real.
Thanks for testing it, Broughy. Once again you've saved me from wasting my money. I can't even be bothered to comment on Rockstar's weird practices anymore.
So, the Hotring Hellfire is the oddball of oddballs for Hotring? But it’s still disappointingly slow for a track car compared to the illegal HSW ones.
Good going Rockstar. You made a safety feature on a stock car into an aero mod. This disappoints me
Edit:For those that don't know, the roof flaps on a stock car keep the car from flipping over when it is turned around backwards
Rockstar logic of the day:
A) The flaps irl aren't an aerodynamic device, they only open when a car spins to prevent it getting airtime.
B) A car modelled after a Dodge Challenger NASCAR is not in the Muscles class.
Rockstar have been greatly over exaggerated for having the "best" attention to detail when they really don't lol
Nascar is a sport and the other 2 hotrings are also in the Sports class , so why should it be in the Muscle class . Tbh it wouldn't make sense to put it in the Muscle class
@@Cobo29 it's a race car. Race cars aren't sportscars. Some race cars are based on sportscars. Some racecars, like this one, are based on muscle cars. See the difference?
This car preforms like a sports car, hence why it's in the Sports section.
If it preformed like a muscle car, it would've been put in that section.
@@nickklavdianos5136 almost all racecars fall into the sports class , so again : why should it be in the muscle class !? Do you see any racecars in the muscle class ?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 How do they continually outdo themselves? HAPPY 10 YEARS EVERYONE! 🥳
I love this car. Looks sick, not overpowered, and requires a very unique driving style
Good meme, brough. very cool
Thank you for posting this
Since "blipping" the brakes is apparently the best way to abuse them, would it be better to use stock brakes so the blips don't slow it down as suddenly? Or does that technique slow the car down about the same regardless of upgrades?
Any differences will be pretty minimal and brakes in general are more personal preference, but theoretically yes.
@@broughy1322 Someone who knows how to use the Smooth Braking (best done with Stock brakes) technique for the Open Wheelers could possibly get a faster lap time, but other than that it likely doesn't matter because of the tracks this car will end up being used on the most.
Thanks for the info Broughy 💯👌
Silliest thing is the “active aero” should be raising angle of the spoiler not raising flaps, these flaps are IRL there just when the car spins and goes backwards so it doesn’t flip I.e. they raise only when going backwards thanks to backwards airflow… It’s so weird to see them flip up while braking instead of the wing
In this video Broughy is talking about flaps.
I don't think it breaks anything too much as long as the lap times are all so close to each other between all the hotring cars, which it seems has been achieved, so I am satisfied.
Well its the only one without handling flags so, considering its all way better braking? I’d say that give it a pretty huge advantage
A new definition of brake boosting.
thx man, great work as usual
This is a strange gfred but I'm into it.
Thanks boyy.
I'm finally able to complete my garages again.
Except for the Lost Slamvan, but it's good to have an empty spot anyways.
what, and I cannot stress this enough, the hell
at least it's something brand new I guess?
Who would've thought that Ultra Super Late Braking technique could come i handy now
You gonna do it, aren't you?
My expectations for the HH were in the toilet and R* still managed to disappoint me
I don’t know what he’s on about there but I’ll just click a like anyway, cheers
I'm ready for that 59 Cadillac to come out, I've been waiting for it to come to gta5 for sooo long
Only drove the hellfire for 20mins before and it seemed like a belting car not the fastest but a nice drive and like broughy is saying the brakes do help with the flaps on roof.
I can’t wait to see a PH version that lets you keep the flaps up by fully breaking and have normal breaking be done by letting off of the throttle. (Like having super high engine breaking or however off throttle deceleration works in GTA)
So it's a pure trailbraking machine.... Bravo r*, you figured out how to pique my interest after quitting for years now.
I think it’s a good idea with the braking, finally something new yk
Sounds like a fun unintended mechanic honestly
Soooooooo does that mean the hotring hellfire of all things probably actually a very good drift car, good torque no handling flags rear wheel drive plus variable downforce which allows you to control and recover spin outs better?
I don't think it's broken. I think they are testing things and for new style of hotring races, I could be interesting. It's a new challenge, just like how people had to get used to the way the Calico drives , when it was released.
They are 100% just beta testing vehicles and how the players use/abuse them, in preparation for gta6 and the new gtao evolution.
I am looking forward to testing it out against the everon .. should be interesting
I'm just glad I kept the regular Conada 😁
Aha… the new Hotring is a true drivers car if you know how to push it 👌🏾 the programmer was on something else!!!
That is awesome.
For most people, this is of limited use.
Most randos only use these cars for R* created Hotring races. Tracks not exactly known for tight cornering. Still I can think of situations where it absolutely would come in handy.
Pretty neat 'feature'
I race in a hot ring league, there is definitely going to be a bias towards this car for the right people
And with that said and done, the final unreleased car looks to be getting released in the middle of October.
I don't think the flaps are that bad. like the video said, it's not too consistent and the driver needs to know when to use the brakes to make it viable, even then it's only a good car if we're talking about the hotring ones anyways, so all in all, even if the behaviour is anomalous, it doesn't break the game or blow a class out of the water, if anything, it rewards skilled players who took the time to learn the "exploit"
1 more car and it’s done 🎉
On PC and high FPS, abusive driving is totally broken. Hellfire have a glitch with this and have insane speed (i have some tests on it).
this thing straight up feels like franklins driving ability
Imagine break boosting with the flaps raising after going up a bump
That was fast.
So the 'active aero' is made to mimic the Gymkhana 2022 Family Huckster
Yes yes yes, but it's gorgeous :D
I was looking for your test on the hellfire earlier, and i'm only 16 minutes late
As weird as it sounds I think that's an interesting spoiler mechanic
Leave it to Rockstar to a new feature to a car where it is pretty much entirely useless. Most hotting races are ran flatout and the ones that aren't you can pretty much get by with just coasting into the turns. Then when it comes to standard races the car just isn't competitive enough in sports as a whole to warrant it being used to being with.
Tbh, looks kinda fun
As dumb as they are I like R* experimenting in this way and to balance a car with the sabre whilst not making it drive similarly is very impressive.
I understand this car aerodynamically absurd and uncanny, however..
The alternatives are:
Unbalanced
Forgettable
Reskin
rEaLiSm
As a part of the game I really like this from R*, as a car guy I'm just going to let it get lost to the ether
Good work from you broughy, the car is expectedly underwhelming
This is really interesting. So, if I'm being bumped on an oval race (or any other race where I dare to drive this kind of car), I can gain some grip and recover by just braking?
I have to try it!
So for Hotring Races, the Everon is still the best because it has the highest top speed, right?
Probably
fuck, was really hoping the hellfire was the fastest now since i love hellcats@@broughy1322
A brand new learning curve if I want to be quicker sign me up!
It's a cool concept, but in reality it isn't going to do much. There are very few if any hotring races where you have to brake.
I thought for sure it would overtake the other two Hotring vehicles under normal driving..
Weaponised Cone
new breakboost meme vehicle confirmed
Me who bought the weaponised canada expecting a faster than sparrow weaponised helicopter i’m guessing i’m stupid for not researching ahead of time
Wouldn't that mean that leaving the brakes stock is the better choice here?
Are you going to bother testing for GTA6?
He's still planning to, yes
Looks good tho
Broughy, you really need to revisit your wheel recommendations. The "off roads", at least in my 'testing" are significantly more susceptible to losing traction over bumps on the Hotring cars on their tracks. I have found the "Tuners" category to be the best option for those cars.
With the Off-Roads on a fully upgraded Everon, my best lap of Zancudo was 1:00.35, but that was a "hero" lap (everything had to go perfectly, extremely hard to duplicate), with the Tuners (Fujiwa's in case anyone wants to try this themselves), I was not able to match the prior best, but the lap times (minus the first, of course) were all sub 1:01, and the "ghost bumps" (when the car reacts like you hit a curb mid corner and fishtails) were either gone or had no effect on the car's trajectory.
The difference in lap times on "waterway" and "palmer-taylor" was also massive, and the car was MUCH easier to drive.
In free mode, the wheels don't seem to make a huge difference (hotring cars still drive like... hotring cars), So I don't think they are going to suddenly make the hotring cars competitive in sports class races, but on their dedicated tracks against their own kind, it shows (at least in my testing) enough of an improvement that further (actual proper) testing may be in order.
the hotring everon gets no additional benefit from offroads, your testing is just placebo and doesn't actually contradict what broughy has recommended for cars with TCC
Would it be beneficial or not to upgrade the brakes on the hotring hellfire?
The Hellfire should not be even considered just for the almost 2 milion price tag it has.
So for hotring races which one is the best?
Probably the Everon
@broughy1322 I'm still probably gonna sell it and get the Hellfire as I just can't stand the handling flags
The hellfire has no top speed or rev limiter. Why broughy doesnt mention this is beyond me, this is very important and huge avantage that he doesnt mention at all.
the Hellfire does have the hard_rev_limit flag and has a top speed and max speed similar to the other Hotrings, not sure where you're getting that from
@@DiNmiTe hellfire doesnt have top speed limit from what ive seen, on flat ground sure they are as fast but hellfire goes faster than any of the cars downhill, or on a bumpy track
on gtacars website there is no rev limit flag
@@DiNmiTe i just tested the hellfire on big drop stunt track, it has no top speed limit or rev limit.
@@ZephyrCat 1) stunt race that has snap lines meaning slower + micro kerbs
2) doing downhill means everything will go faster
but correction on the has_rev_limiter, yes the Hellfire doesn't have it, I misread gtacars.net but in races Broughy normally does this isn't such an advantage
@@DiNmiTe Cars with top speed or rev limiters wont go faster downhill, they will cap out at the same top speed as they do on flat ground
When i drove this thing it looked significantly faster than the other 2 hotring, hkw is this possible
Was it a poor attempt at trying to reward late breaking into corners? 🤨
Go race a wide open track like chiliad peak it’s way faster
in sa supersport, does this mean this is much slower than everon?
Thanks. Question. Are off road tires useless now? I put them on all my cars for the grip but I feel like I remember hearing that they changed the grip status. Thanks.
can't remember when exactly but yes at some point they added a handling flag which means tyres don't matter
@@DiNmiTeI think it's the Casino DLC where they applied that flag to all cars afterwards like the Thrax, Krieger and Emerus etc. And the old cars weren't affected I believe.
You can always check via a car’s page on gtacars.net whether it will get any benefit from off roads or not (performance section)
Hey Broughy, was checking out that link - the lap time for the Hotring Sabre is higher than shown in this video and higher than the Everon. Is there a different course used for this page?
It’s just syncing issues while retesting is ongoing. 2024 will have everything (videos, site, spreadsheet) be all up to date after everything has been retested.
Bit odd it's the slowest hotring car when driving normal
Oh my gosh those are not how those flaps work at all. What an embarrassment 😂
So the actual spoiler upgrade does actually nothing?
correct
It doesn’t have hsw upgrades?
Nope. We've already had all the HSW cars from this update
so you need to blip the brakes through the corner to make use of the extra traction?
Small blips will increase traction only when you push the button, you have to hold the brakes to exploit it, basically: trail braking
@@NikkOcello17 yeah, that would make it easier on the controller 😅
Blipping the brakes is actually the best way to do it, but not full braking. Say half brake with each blip, where the amount you blip is based on how much you feel you need the extra grip to get around the corner. All while accelerating. It’s tricky. And not one for keyboard users I’d say.
@@broughy1322 this way you can carry speed while gripping to the road? interesting 😈
I’m assuming the hellfire and all the advanced handling flags that rockstar has introduced in the past few years have been used to test different mechanics for possible cars in gta 6

Why tf is the Hotring Hellfire in the Sports class!?
why wouldn't it be?

Rockstar doesn't have car enthusiasts working on the games vehicles or its driving mechanics.
How can you say that when this is clearly an unintended side effect of a pretty neat mechanic that could only have been introduced by an enthusiast
@@Johnny362000 Why could it ONLY have been introduced by an enthusiast?
@@Soknik01 because nobody who isn't at least a little into cars gives a shit about the concept of airbrakes enough to program them in for one specific car. So what if it had unintended side effects
you OK guy? Who said ANYTHING about unintended side effects? Who said anything about roof flaps? Have you even asked yourself if you might be making a whole lot of assumptions?
@@Soknik01 ok so what the hell are you talking about then that made you come to the conclusion nobody at Rockstar is a car enthusiast? Evidently I was mistaken in assuming there was a logical thought process that led to your comment

New project homecoming meme vehicle incoming…
not sure how we'd meme that since afaik its not an issue on PH :D
@@DiNmiTeit'll become an issue once/if FiveM updates to the current game version. Not that you'll be able to do anything with it because it's hardcoded
