A quick tip for tick manipulation with herbs since I don't think it was said in the video: If you want to bring more herbs but don't have an herb bag, you can do that as long as they are not cleaned yet. The dialogue box for "how many tars to make" will not appear if you only have one clean herb, but several grimy herbs. Then, if you accidentally make a tar, you can just clean another one, but make sure you drop the other grimy herbs first, otherwise it will clean them all automatically.
Not sure how I didn't think of that! Keep in mind it's pretty tough to use up an herb at granite because you are moving around a lot, so maybe don't bring a ton of herbs, but great tip!
@@jacob6668get full dh or obsidian, get your hp to 1, full absorb, set your quick prayer to rapid heal. Double click every 50 seconds. Then you just need to check every so often on your absorb to make sure you don't die.
might want to add an addendum for shooting stars: it's efficient to get the celestial ring as it's only about 2 hours to get it and the +4 invisible boost helps even past 99
That 3t4g gameplay brought me back to the painful learning experience that you start out with there. As over time though, you start to actually get good at the method and you enjoy yourself so much more than before. One of the best training methods in the game. Just some tips though, you can make it easier for yourself to use a knife/log as a 3t action instead of the herb tar to reduce clicks between boulder 3 and 4, it might sound better to use stretched runelite but it is better on your wrists to use a minimised client as when you get better at clicking it is a much shorter distance to travel. I find humidify also helps keep you in cycle but is very optimal, and finally the placement of your camera will help you a lot in keeping the cycle but you will find your placement over time. Hey man don't knock blast mining lol its definitely worth discussing as it provides about 400k gp and 60k xp per hour after level 75. Dynamite is relatively cheap and you can get the hang of it and still watch UA-cam/movies while blasting
Weirdly, I don't mind Blast Mine; not AS intensive as tick manipulating, but forces me to focus enough that I get better xp than i would at Motherlode where i afk and kill my xp rates
A little disappointed you didn't really cover blast mining, its definitely worth discussion. Better money and xp than gem rocks, and you don't even need a pickaxe! Plus its fun to completely fill the sack and see that massive xp drop all at once.
Great guide! I would note to use a skills necklace to teleport to the Mine. I wouldn't recommend running to the mine via the staircase you showed. It' takes up less energy and it's very cheap for that single teleport and the necklace itself. A direct teleport to the mining guide, via the skills necklace, is your best bet for efficiency. There is 6 teleports per necklace.
IMO it's worth mining iron in the mining guild for the minerals. It takes about 25k ore for the expert mining gloves which are GREAT for runite ore later. EDIT: Also there is a bank/deposit box you can use to cut down on clicking so that there is no need for power mining and wasting ore if you are an ironman.
I don't think runite alone is worth mining, although if you plan on mining amethyst later the gloves from iron will save you a lot of time down the road!

Since it is not that click intensive as granite tick manip, gives a good amount of xp and gp per hour. Currently with my method usually I have not seen anyone else doing it I am getting 72k xp per hour and 700k gp per hour which I put into construction also I high alch while I blast mine giving me magic xp and firemaking xp from blast mining.
I understand what you're saying, and obviously do what you will but: VM is 1/3+ better xp/h. Which values your time at ~2m/h. Gnomonkeys videos are, almost exclusively, targeted towards people looking for a means to an and (maxing mining, in this case) and will quite happily take this tradeoff. I know personally I'd much prefer to do 8h of vm & 2h of Cox then 10h of blast mine, even if they were the same gp (Cox will be higher)
I'm gonna ask and its blowing my mind that no one's asked or I've missed something but how do you remove or stop the 'make x' option? It completely stops the process for me unless you absolutely have to hold space bar?

I have recently made a ironman and went to mlm as soon as i could. I dont mind the slow exp as i can play main in stead. You tell to buy the bigger sack as last but i disagree. I bought it asap. It helps a lot with exp. Because i was at mlm because i could i will have another 100 nuggets to go to the upper level when i hit 72 mining. I would defo get the mining outfit last. The exp gain is so small i personally don't think it matters that much. The few hours you would've gained, are only a waste if you focus a 100% at mining all the time. But we all zone out once in a while etc.

Would be a huge improvement if they balanced it against woodcutting, and allowed you to gain more ore per vein as you mine higher tiers of ore

3:16 you say the Varrock Armour 4 gives double ore up to runite. It does also work for Amethyst, which is a higher tier ore than Runite.
Is that only in varrock?

At the mlm there is a hammer in the barrel close to the deposit sack! So you can free up that inventory for mining.
I might be wrong but if you can overload the sack with 4 trips of partial inventory instead of 3 trips of a full inventory.
