I would highly suggest the live action trailer for the game Anthem, made by Neil Blomkamp. It’s one of the most incredible game trailers I’ve ever seen, and there is more story and tension packed into those few minutes than some big budget movies.
Would definitely recommend checking out the Prime warframe cinematic trailers
Don't mind me just sitting on your pinned comment, I'm just waiting for one of the Warframe devs to post a comment on this video, with another video suggestion or something similar.
If you want to expand on the Warframe cinematics I highly suggest the main story line cinematics when you play through the story line & even the in game side quest cinematics are treat.
I would be honoured to have them here.

The issue with comparing the remastered intro to the New War DLC is that the intro doesn't expect you to understand anything. It's just dropping you in and letting you know 'things are happening'. The New War cinematic requires knowledge up to that quest for you to really attach yourself to it. That being said, as someone who's literally been playing since 2013, I loved the New War cinematic more than the intro, though both are good!
Ngl, the second video here still hits me hard. Rare for a game to get me emotional, but it's just so freaking heartbreaking, especially when first seeing it and understanding what it's portraying. That was a hard pill to swallow, but the writing with it was so dern good.
That's interesting to hear.
Seeing lotus as natah still hurts my heart every time
it still kinda hurts seeing the lotus that way
That's why it is so clever, for someone who doesn't know who Natah, Margulies and Lotus are it's cryptic but for someone who does it's very meaningful and very indicative on what you can expect from New War before it even came out.
That guy goes from reactions to my favorite franchise (Halo) into reactions to my most played game lmao

@BamiAndCheese I try my best. KZ
You should look at the "prime" trailers for this game. They show a mix of cinematics with occasional bits of gameplay and are meant to show off one specific character
Listen to them in order of release, too, I would say, to see the evolutions. The quality of prime trailers improved over time
I also recommend the Duviri Paradox trailer.
Most recent one is very funny, but cinematically I think Banshees, Hydriods and Maybe Nekros are the most fitting to the channel.
not to mention the lore tidbits they include too!
This comment needs more likes and comments
"That looks like a rhino!" you are goddamn right it does. It's name is rhino.
Also, the one with the sword is called Excalibur, and he has sword based abilities, and a magic sword of his own.
The one who was doing telekinesis is called Mag and she has magnetic abilities rather than telekinesis, kind of like Marvel's Magneto.
The third one which they showed the least is called Volt, and he isn't really slowing time down, but rather is very fast and has electricity based abilities (kinda like DC's Flash), and in that portion where you didn't get what he was going, he was running fast to reach Excalibur and create a shield in front of him (that's another one of his abilities) so as to guard Excalibur from the bullets.
Oh I like that, like the Flash. Noice!
@kaizammit
If you really want a speedster warframe. Be sure to check out Gauss. He just got a Prime varient as well. With a good speed build, Gauss can easily cross open world maps in seconds. I saw one video where he did it in like 2 seconds. And what's so great about it, is that speed isn't the only thing Gauss is good at. He is also considered by many to be the best frame in the game. If not, he is at least considered one of the best.
If you like flash, you NEED to check Gauss prime's trailer, is top notch speedster animation@@kaizammit
@@kaizammitDefinitely check out some videos or shorts of how fast you can modify warframes from their base abilities. Depending on character customization, you can make many of the characters move so fast that it is literally difficult to control.
the mirror shot of the explosion in Mag's helmet is amazing every time
the three (titular) Warframes you see in the first cinematic are the three you can choose from to start with
- Excalibur is a fairly basic warrior, mostly melee, has a gapcloser, summons the energy sword for his ultimate
- Mag is based on, well, magnetism, pull enemies around or straight up crush them
- Volt uses electricity and can speed himself up substantially, hence the slow-mo shots
you can get many more frames throughout the game though, and yet more weapons to choose from
the second cinematic was indeed for a story event further down the line, basically a second act to the main story, so it's very confusing without context. the first trailer was made to get new players into the game
as for the girl in the first cinematic, the warframes waking up is the beginning of the game, so you as the player don't know what exactly happened before that. she does play a role in the story, but it is only elaborated on much further in
So, the biggest thing this dev company does amazingly is incorporate actual sounds and actions from the game. Trailer 1, the ship entering is exactly how those ships sound in game. Each of the abilities used by the frames are extremely true to the game (if with a little bit of cinematic flare).
Still hate the fact that they basically gave Mag Nyx's 4
@@MemeLordCrusader i do have to agree on that. It isnt totally mag accurate but its the cinematic flare i was talking about. Instead of making a dome that targets someone and attracts bullets to them, she attracted it to a small bubble on her hand. Its close
Mag's two DOES do that, though I don't think that was an option before the trailer. If you hold the input it will absorb bullets and fling them back on recast.
Warframe is the OG and one of the best free to play games out there. Well back then free to play had a slightly different meaning. But it remains GOATED.
Good to know.
@@kaizammit I don't know if you've checked out the game yet, but FYI (and anyone else curious who read this), I think the (not so) secret sauce of Warframes FtP model has two parts:
1. the premium currency, Platinum, is tradeable, which allows a player driven economy
2. constant communication from the devs. The community doesn't get everything they want (nor should they, really), but enough changes have happened based on community feedback that we know they listen. They also talk to use about upcoming additions and changes, when we can expect bug fixes...all of that. I think they are leveraging the para-social relationship phenomenon, but in a mostly good way in that they don't feel as distant and disconnected as the devs of most other games (and as I said, evidence would suggest that they aren't distant or disconnected from the community).
It boggles the mind that despite all the live service failures we've seen the last few years that those other companies haven't figured this stuff out. A lot of rough edges at launch can be so much more palatable when you feel like the devs are listening and making requested changes.
“F2P” even more valuable in 2024
10:05 that's the genius of it, for someone who knows the characters knows exactly what is going on, but for people who don't aren't spoiled.
10 Cloverfileld Lane and Prey is the same guy who made the new Warframe opening cinematic.
And yes he is also a Warframe player.
Dan Trachtenberg. I believe he also directed the first episode of "The Boys".
Fun fact about the official cinematic trailer.
If you look at the terrain when the girl is entering the ruins, its identical to everything in the war flashback. From the crashed ship thruster on the stairs, to even the crubled rocks behind the warframes, everything stays in place, showing that that place went completely untouched for ages
On that tip, it's also a nod to how fractured and spread out and quite frankly LESS there is of humanity in the time of the Warframe game. A far future where humanity didn't just spread and multiply, but also was thinned out through war and other factors. It's something that isn't really addressed in the game lore that much, but there's probably less humans in the Warframe Sol system than there are now on Earth.
Dude, I just got into this game and I love it. This is the first cinematic of a game that I've seen that underplays your abilities in game. The gameplay is even more nimble than it looks here.
Yes and no, some of the things in the trailer you can't do in-game (some of the martial arts, some of the abilities are portrayed oddly, like Volt not actually being able to slow down time), and the Paris bow cannot, in fact, unless heavily invested into, destroy a Grineer dropship. I still hope we get to fight pre-genetic drift Grineer at some point - they look so much more menacing, and like a real army.
@@domacleod The melee choreography is a stylistic and artistic choice because in-game it's reduced to hack and slash, some maneuvers like Volt doing a 360 isn't possible while moving forward (can backflip in-game) but I have some things to say about what you pointed out. Your interpretation of the Volt scene is incorrect because the scene was slowed down to give us, the viewers, a perspective of how it feels as Volt moving at top speed- not Volt slowing time. You even mentioned a fully kitted Paris bow can down a Grineer dropship so why use all those flavor text to claim it isn't possible only to end up acknowledging it is possible to do that in-game?
@@domacleod It wasn't volt slowing down time but him running very fast.
The floor is lava, the game.
@@nameless4222 no i'm aware of that, i'm just saying the abilities that are in-game are not necessarily what was showed in the trailer nor necessarily "better". Knowing that volt has a speed ability yes, i can put together that it was slowed down to show his speed, but to someone who never knew it, such as the video creator, who thought that he slows down time?
and about paris, that's a regular paris and you'd need like 6 forma and a great riven to make it do that. it's not a realistic depiction is my point. don't split hairs fam.
The second cinematic here has some major spoilers within the game which I wont go into if you are going to play and get to that stage. The game is certainly free and has a huge potential for grinding. You will ideally want to get into a clan/group who will help you through some of the worst finding your feet parts after the tutorial completes.
WarFrame can be a true power fantasy game where you can feel near invincible at least at first ad the sheer control and combat abilities make you feel like a proper badass. You could spend a lot of real money on the game as well, but pretty much everything can be ground out especially with good help.
to be honest ... real tutorial ends with "the war within" quest ... so by this moment u should have "know how"
@@fifczok0963 lol agreed
being able to watch this with someone who knows so much about film making lets me appreciate it way more. good job
Thank you for watching it with me, I'm glad you enjoyed it. KZ
Everybody that watches this video seems to be confused about volt dashing through the battlefield looking back constantly. He's sprinting forward to get to his ally and put up that barrier to prevent those rounds from hitting him
The way the camera swings around constantly during the action shots but still keeps the tenno upright in centre frame, that does a lot of subtle work i think for conveying the sheer power of the tenno when the entire world is literally revolving around them.
As others have said, i really want to see you react to the prime trailers! They're not CGI but they are rendered in engine and have some really interesting story telling :D
Each one is pretty short. Here are all the trailers so you don't miss any (in release order): -Saryn prime -Vauban prime -Nekros prime -Valkyr prime -Oberon prime -Mirage prime -Hydroid prime -Octavia prime -Gara prime -Nidus prime -Khora prime -Revenant prime -Hildryn prime -Wisp prime -Grendel prime -Gauss prime
I may have to check all those out. Nice! KZ
34:11 That's exactly what the purple lady's name is, and kubrows (the dogs) have an imprint version of them called the Omega Lotus!! It used to be super rare back in the day. You are unknowingly on point with some of the things you say
That was a realy good video, didnt even mind that it was 45min long, you did a great job and as someone who has played this game for years i hope you have fun and dont let yourselfe get overwhelmed.
Thank you for watching my long breakdown. I like to offer value in my videos. 😂
So fun fact, the choir that plays right before the lightning strikes is a segment of the song "This Is What You Are" which is known as the song that represents the tenno and their relationship with the Lotus, who is the voice of God in the cinematic, as well as the woman with the helmet in the New War trailer
The first game trailer still gives me goosebumps after countless hours of playing Warframe, not to mention all the other cinematics in-game is great as well.
The first one is the one I like most, because like you said, 'how is this not a movie' & would be amazing to play as a space ninja hero, fighting against void horrors beyond my comprehension.
The second one for me is more of a development arc you experience as you play through the storyline, as were the first one starts you on your journey.
EDIT; If you ever feel the need for a battle buddy, let me know, would be more than happy to add you to show you the ropes / help you on your adventures.
Thank you so much and I may take you up on that offer. I have it installed and plan on trying it out over the weekend, if the kids let me that is haha. Thanks for watching and being so nice.
The best part about warframe is that as long as you’re patient you can pretty much get everything in the game without spending any money, even the premium currency is tradable.
I recommend watching all the prime warframe trailers which give a little background on what each warframe is about
I've been playing since late 2012 (October 2012 to be exact). I've experience the game in every form it's taken over the years and seen it develop for better (or worse in some cases) into what it is today. Watching someone who hasn't played it experience the trailers from the perspective of a professional is.. well, I fail to find a phrase that doesn't sound too grandiose but "heart warming" feels the most appropriate.
Aaaaaand the doggo is a Sahasa Kubrow - sahasa being the type of kubrow it is - and basically what they do is 3:25 bark, bump into things, and 3:41 bring you loot.
They bring you loot. The collisions are optional humour.
Please consider checking some of the Prime Trailers. Each time an existing Warframe gets a Prime variant there is usually an accompanying video in the form of a (in universe) sales pitch to showcase the shiny, deadly new thing, some of these are stunning snapshots of the Warframe universe and lore. Mirage Prime, Nekros Prime and Octavia's Prime videos spring to mind as great examples to check. (Some Frames are still waiting for their Prime video, *cough* Mag Prime when, DE? *cough* 10 years we've waited...)
As far as the F2P side of Warframe goes, it is by far the best, the fairest and the least predatory of all the F2P games available, and often puts AAA games to shame. And to address the gameplay overall I'll say this, I've played Warframe for over 10 years now and there is still nothing else to compare with it. I've tried many, many games, but I always come back to Warframe.
Looking forward to another 10 years and maybe, just maybe, we'll eventually get a Mag Prime Trailer one day. Maybe...
One of of the few times where the actual gameplay is just as cool as - if not cooler than - the cinematic. 🙌
The first was the restart for the game's beginning when they redid the starting mission. Mag's ability to collect bullets like that was added because of this cinematic. It became a secondary button hold option rather than completely rework her abilities to add it.
Volt is the original speedster character. In that scene he drops his shield in front of the guy behind Excalibur as he's tripped, then hits him with a lightning bolt as he hit's the ground.
One thing that might not be so obvious about the Grineer, but it's shown in the trailer. When they go into the past, the guy the kubro hits looks like a normal human. In that final shot when you look at the one in the foreground, you can see some deformity in the face. It is referenced plenty in the game as you go, they are clones. They've deteriorated over time with each batch giving them that appearance. No time line has officially been set, but it's roughly one thousand years, or more, since the Old War to present.
Yes, that was a Lotus fur pattern on the Kubrow (Space Doggo).
What's funny is that they look extremely powerful in this cinematic, but in-game they're even MORE powerful. The game turns this cinematic up to 11 in terms of power and I'm not exaggerating ON TOP of how wildly creative it is which I think you'd just love. It's fucking ludicrous how insane you can be in this game once you understand all the mechanics, upgrades, etc. It's a grind [obviously since its F2P] but it absolutely is pure power fantasy.
The 2nd one was about the New War update and was a great tease for people familiar with warframe . A lot of it's elements hit the comunity hard emotionaly even. At this point of the game it reminds you who you are, what have you accomplished and what are you going to to? when " that" time comes...
If you noticed the blue light effect when the tenno was shot in the second trailer, then you see the same blueish light when the girl dissappears in the first trailer at the end. I think you can get an idea of what happened.
Yeah you'd never expect *Warframe* of all things, this little looter shooter (back in the day, mind!) with Geiger-esque ninjas, to have such amazing cutscenes and a surprisingly engaging story. And it's a free live service looter shooter!
46:08 she was there.
She is "Tenno" they have the power to possess "warframes" and control them. She disappeared because she possessed Meg (the girl warframe ).
"Wow, he looks like a Rhino" - Ironic as that is exactly that warframes name (Excalibur is the "ninja", Mag is the "jedi" you mentioned, Volt is the 3rd of the original bunch and Nova is the one where the Tenno got shot in the chest)
The New War was amazing as far as the trailer was concerned, but you really needed to know the lore to 'buy in', so yeah, I can accept that you'd choose the other one. Glad you liked it.
Opening video was directed by Dan Trachtenberg which does more than a little to explain why it's so impressive.
If you do get into the game, the community is there to help you out.
Good luck Tenno. 😊
Cheers.
26:20 She's a... uh... Spoiler... in a way. The energy that came off the warframes when they shut down and went dormant vs the energy that she seemingly turns into though are part of the clues, but if you do play, you won't massively understand how it's works until you get a decent way through the game and get into the really potent story parts that are known as some of warframe's biggest turning points.
Basically, don't look too hard into it. keep that curiosity in the back of your mind while you play. ;)
47:14 and that moment is the moment you pick your character and it switches to gameplay.
Honestly man your guesses were Spot on. The first one was a intro video for warframe haha. As you said more introducing vs continues a story. As a new war is 75% of the way through the current content in warframe. So A new War is a Crazy video for us who have played for years. Shit made my skin crawl and i had goose bumps. I highly reccomend you watch or stream playing through warframe story missions. You would have a BLAST! Warframe is to me what free to play should look like.. ive loved this game for years. Still my goto no matter what is going on in life . Cheers man, glad i found your channel
33:58 was a really good catch w the lotus
As others have said, check out the Prime Trailers. The dual Grendel and Gauss Trailer is really interesting for the tonal shift.
The cinematic was done by Digic, and have done many cinematics and trailers for many different games over many years. One of which you have already reacted to was the Awaken video. My personal favorites from them are a series of rainbow six cinematics: "The Hammer and the Scalpel", "The Program", "The Tournament of Champions", "The Playbook", "Sisters in Arms" and wrapped up (for now) in the Year 8 Cinematic trailer.
The first cinematic features Excalibur (Sword / Throwing knives / typical Ninja dude), Mag (Kinetic forcefields / manipulation), and Volt (Speedy), which are the three starter frames. You can unlock other frames, as well as their prime variants, as you play the game.
The second cinematic shows off Rhino (He definitely looks like a rhino!), Nova (Girl with the fancy guns and teleport stuff), and Excalibur once again. The expansion - I won't go into too much detail because it's an amazing expansion you should experience first - is about a new faction that emerges, using brainwashing tactics to unite the system against you (their leader doesn't like you, big shocker!)
I 100% recommend checking this game out, and also checking out some of the music they make.
I’m not sure if you’ve watched the other cinematics for OW but all of them are incredibly amazing origins.
I love how these amazing cinematics actually UNDERSELL the actual gameplay. Then you get to the Second dream and fall in love with the story too
Please... NEVER apologize for enjoying something you love.
Yes, hearing your description of the scene was something. But seeing the light in your eyes like an 8 years old in a candy shop, we could feel the passion!
It's the British in me, we are always apologising.
She was there. She just used a thing called "transference" to basically "get into" the suit of one of those fighters
Careful Tenno... beware of crossing the spoiler line or the founders will come for you ...🤫
@@IdealistTCO The second trailer already did that for me
Its been years since that trailer came out and im just now having this realization; the first 20-30 seconds of the first cinematic is a reference to the power of the Tenno. The way im now seeing it, you arent actually looking at space in the beginning, you're looking at the Void, an inter-dimensional plane full of chaotic energy in-game. It is the same energy that the Tenno use to pilot and power the warframes.
Thats probably why the video zooms out from the eye of the character. Its telling you subtly that she is a Tenno. You look into her eyes and witness the power that makes the warframes do all the things you just saw.
Also the fact that the very next shot has the character underwater. Now this might be a stretch, but this could be a reference to something we learn later in the game. I won't spoil anything here, but there's a quote that metaohorically refers to the Void as an ocean that one can drown in...
That cinematic does such an amazing job showing just how incredibly powerful warframes are.
It's not even a hard fight for them, they do it all so casually.
Welcome to the club! I was kinda hoping for the Duviri Paradox trailers as well, a very surreal and different vibe, but still in the same game.
Basically Tenno control warframes through a process called transference, every warframe has its own abilities.
When she "came out of the armor" is an ability that's gained way into the story.
Fun drinking game: Take a shot every time he says cinematic
Fun fact, the part of the trailer where Mag (the magnetic Warframe, second in the sequence) is capturing the bullets? Was an ability that she didn't have in game before the trailer, it was added after the trailer launched to reflect what she could do there.
from a warframe content creator and film student, this was such an awesome video bro 🙌🏼👑
Man, i love how you nerded the hell out while breaking this down
I feel like my own sense of wonder and appreciation for this franchise was validated when you showed the very same feelings
I think what warframe does best is packing detail into every bit and corner of its world when it can, and making at all feel alive
Theres so much in these cinematics and in the game that you can never just take it all in on one sitting
Ive recently gotten my first 1000 on any game ever with warframe but god im still learning so much about not only the world but also every aspects of the gameplay all the time
In opening cinematic alone it gives you so much visual story telling, even if i wanted to give context now, i wont be able to even begin doing so
But i can give one example, and dont worry its more of a background thing despite all its details so its a minor spoiler
Those grineer (the ones with the glowing eyes masks) are now one of your most common enemies, but at present day they nothing but a mere decrepit shadow of their former selves
They were the lowest worker caste for a once vast and prosperous empire in the ancient times, but even then their armor in that flashback were still greatly detailed with almost golden filligree made with great attention for its aesthetics. The armor is still clearly blemished and dirtied by all the hard work they do in the field but you can still see the beauty in it
Now, at present day you can see that their current gear are bare and crude imitations of what they used to wear and wield, made of barely refined scraps with little to no care for its appearance besides sheer practicality. Alot of its aesthetics literally resemble things being duct taped together
And the soldiers, majority of them were weilding a weapon called the Gotva Prime, that gun (and the parts to craft it) is literally obtained from relics you can find in game
Its a very powerful gun, a rarity that the tenno tirelesly work to obtain (unless they got it on tennocon 2023) from relics of an ancient time
And it was a standard issue weapon to the worker caste at the bottom of this old empire’s society
You can even see this quality disparity with the ships the grineer were on, the basic infantry ships were literally lined with gold, and the imitations of those ships now looks like flying blobs of slag in how theyre designed by the grineer
And this is all happening in the background, in a one off cinematic (even if with very high production value) and never seen in game, meaning they designed these specifically for this cinematic where they all just get slaughtered and exploded
I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME
AND LITERALLY EVERYTHING THE CHARACTERS DID AND THE SOUND EFFECTS AND EVERY ITEM USED ARE ALL IN GAME
AND YOU CAN ALL GET IT FOR FREE WITH ONLY YOUR TIME AND EFFORT
I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME, AMAZING VIDEO MY GUY
Thank you for all that information and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think I might cover all the Primes soon. KZ
I highly recommend since you enjoyed this to watch the Prime Trailer videos the developers made to showcase their Prime versions of Warframes. Primes are stat upgrades and they made cinematic trailers for a small chunk of them. I have a playlist on my channel that has them all listed in a neat playlist called "All Warframe Prime Cinematic Trailers (2024)". Would be cool to see you react to these as well!
I believe someone has already given me the full list. If you guys are enjoying the video or me covering this franchise, I'll be sure to check it out. Thank you for watching fella!
Hopefully the list doesn't miss any! My playlist has all of them without any fillers or promotion videos which don't really count@@kaizammit
At 43:30 you asked what he just did, it's called bullet jumping, going from crouch to a jump immediately and skipping the actual standing part. Allowing them to soar through the air at high speeds. Even in game the action is extremely smooth and just wonderful to watch.
As a music technology student looking to do a masters in video game sound design, watching this has given me new ideas as to how the audio elements can be used to accent the cinematic aspect. Simple things such as the camera pov rotating, and panning the audio to match could be a really neat thing to explore, and thats just one example that i otherwise wouldve overlooked! Keep them coming mate, you provide great insight!
Yeah baby! Love this cinematic, as someone who played Warframe in the beginning of this game, this video pleases me on levels I cannot describe, and it's always so lovely seeing someone sharing my level of excitement!
i remember watching the original trailers back in gamestop 10 old years ago.
god when i first watched the new war trailer a tear rolled down my eye as well. The deep emotion they were able to capture is so amazing and visceral, especially for those who were already caught up with the characters at that point. Such an amazing trailer and great job to D.E for such an amazing game.
I love how everyone is talking about how he pointed out Rhino’s name but the whole “that dog has a head pattern like a lotus” is something that is really funny in context
I have just recently finished The New War quest and honestly watching these trailers and cinematics are really fun just to see what all i can recognize. I dont know how many times ive watched Warframe trailers but every time i just cant help but love them.
The first cinematic is absolutely well done to describe the player through the character when we log out
I love he doesnt pause the video every second unlike other creators when he's reacting to it
Having played all the story up to the new war these videos have so many Easter eggs and hints to what you will learn later in game. imo, these hit harder since I understand the story and the huge amount of lore behind all of this.
This game has a hell of a learning curve, there’s no handholding- but I’ve come back to it periodically for years now. The fact that it’s free is incredible.
The art direction is something that took me a long while to warm up to, but ultimately if you want to design something alien and ‘other’ then this is the way to do it.
@40:05 - Your showing the Warframe known as Volt perform 3 of his move sets. At the beginning, he has the ability to speed up not only his body, but can speed up those that are around him. His second move set has him cast a shield which has 2 abilities. First ability.... of course like any other shield, is to block or repel enemies or gunfire. However, Volt does a double whammy after casting the shield by casting his third move set (or first if you play the game), which is to cast an electric bolt to the enemy giving electric damage. Since he casted the (electric) shield, the shield will amplify both your casted special attack (Electric Bolt which was delivered whilst fallen back) and/or your gunfire with an electric status proc (additional damage on top of the attack) and kept the enemy repelled, all at the same time. That's why I love that scene!
Love the commentary given! Shows how the animator/director was thinking with all the change-ups of the scenes, lighting, Dutch Angle and world building during the fight scenes! Gives a better perspective of the shot, and why the scene looks more vibrant and fun!
The female is the Tenno. Known to have the ability to perform a Transference of themselves into a Warframe (blue smoke at bottom of screen @46:19). She will be both better protected from the Grineer, and will now be able to fully control a Warframe and all of it's abilities. And there is plenty of story and lore to this game which is why it's addictive to a lot of players. The only issue is the learning curve to the game, but if you find a Warframe player like me or a Dojo full of WF Veterans.... we'll help out with the steep learning curves. Just in case you truly do download and play this game. If you have time, check out another CC UA-camr that goes by DeSiege. If your looking to understand the story and know more about the lore of this game...,.. He's the guy! Good luck!
I'm not sure if anyone has already said this but the first trailer is the intro trailer to the game, it plays just before the tutorial and you pick your warframe out of those three after the cinematic ends and end up fighting those enemies
Super cool to see you have reacted to one of my long time favourite games.
The first cinematic is definitely the best for a newer player. The new war cinematic is hours of gameplay in so it the characters involved mean a lot more over time. The scene of the girl with the woman holding her was 8 years in the waiting to see that mother character so the impact at the time was huge.
Funny you mention the ''Hollywood feel'', since it was directed by Dan Trachtenberg. :P
I know his work and would explain it. If you know and can see it, you know.
So the first trailer was directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, also guest director on Black Mirror and The Boys). He plays the game himself and apparently ran into the developers at an E3 convention and was talking with them about the game needing an improved new player experience and landed himself doing a CGI trailer for them. :D
Love it!
46:03 - This is a power in the game called Transference. Where you transfer your conscious into one of the Warframes. Since she disappears completely, based on the game she wasn't there in person but a projection of her consciousness. They probably did it this way for you to better understand. FYI the lore behind transference is pretty dark how it came to be and what it was originally used for. Pretty cool none the less.
Ngl was waiting for this been loving your channel have a good one👍
Epic, I'm glad I've covered it now then. If it makes your day then it makes my day.
I have watched most of the trailers and cinematics several times and I still can't get enough of 'em
Welcome Tenno, I'm sure you'll have a great time and enjoy the vibes of the Warframe community
The first one is for the "new guys" and the second trailer is more for the people coming back, it was hints of the actual gameplay all throughout the trailer, things that are actually not obvious when you first start playing the game.
Oh and by the way:
The music is doing the same thing you talk about with the camera techniques etc:
The Tenno themes are starting to play when looking at the buildings.
The music is the Grineer music when they show up etc.
The music is using musical queues from their repertoire to hit those themes as well.
There is a lot of story and lore (and trailers) in between the first trailer you saw and the new war, without spoiling ranging from finding out what the tenno actually are, the story of how warframes were made, the lotus's origin/past (the space mom, how the community calls her, with the hat with a lot of cables), and info and lore about the old war mentioned in the first trailer
It's free but there is a lot of grinding to get certain weapons, frames, items and features
Welcome to the community, Tenno.
I hope you have an aweseome, yearlong stay.
action film makers need to start making their movies like video games like this trailer, center framing, smoother camera shots during action, come on bro tell me that wouldn’t be top tier
Glad seeing your reaction to the intro (although fairly new considering how long the game has been out....honestly don't even recall the original opening cinematic). Would love to see you react to some more of the cinematics from the game (such as Duviri Paradox and the newest one from Tennocon last year).
I was going to look at all the Primes trailers next for Warframe. Heard those are good.
Both are extremely emotional... I've cried every time I've played through the story- the new war is INTENSE, the Second Dream is INTENSE, and the War Within has made me cry more than any other media I've ever watched. I love them both, but knowing what I know about the New War, I have to say I loved the second video.
As just a quick heads up, narratively the first one you watched is their redesigned intro to the series, as you say, to welcome new players in.
The second one is for a story expansion (quite deep into the game) and is more of a teaser to bring older players BACK. That is the reason behind the pretty large narrative disconnect between the two trailers as far as approachability from an outsiders perspective would be. It still looks nice, but as you noted, has very little context if you don't have some familiarity with the story up to this point.
17:05 She saw their lights from the reflection and realized it was grineer thats why she sharply turned to them
i know this is a month old now but. i think the first vid does a good job of pulling you into the game. but the 2nd has so much emotion. a child facing the truth of their parents. a child made for war and after destroying an empire. they find them selves on the front of a "new war" by familliar forces. its coming to terms with what you are and your place in the world. man its such a good game.
My favorite is definitely the first one. Even though both are masterpieces, the first one fills me with nostalgia about how everything was in the beginning, and the fact that the narrator mentions one of the most beautiful moments (in my opinion), added to that theme playing in the background, it's basically layers stacked on top of each other, of years of progression, evolution, and pure feelings in general.
I love this game and it's still to this day, the only game I never stopped playing simply because it never ceases to amaze me.
There's no way. I just watched another UA-camr take a look at it from a motion designer perspective and wondered what you'd have to say about it. Always continuing to love your videos.
Interesting! Did we cross over at any point? I hope you still enjoyed the video even though you've just covered it haha.
@@kaizammit There were somethings that were similar like camera angles and lighting, but I have to say you went so much more in depth with it. And I loved the video, your excitement and energy is infectious.
@@dakotapriem haha thanks man, I do get a little carried away. Exactly what I'm like in person, it's just me. Hi!
Check out Grendel and Gauss’s trailers to see where they’ve gone since this.
9:39 that's her mother (adopted space mum) she turned evil, now she has to kill her hence the dramatic history visions.
I don't think you can understand the story the same way as those of us who were playing the game occasionally to daily for six-ish years before we got the reveal of what, exactly we were, or what the tenno are. The cryptic and slow drip-feed of story elements is a kind of slow-burn satisfaction that hits you kind of like when you re-read a good book at a different stage of your life and you love it even more from a completely different perspective.
So as a WF player since like 2015, the first one is cool, but the second one is the one that gives me goosebumps and like a bit of a lump in my throat, but not only is it beautiful, but it's loaded with emotion and history that I've played through myself. Especially if you've paid attention to the whole story and have known the character it's about (the floating robit lady) from the very start as like a mother figure, it's rough.
It's the character that is with you from the very start as a guide, a protector, a mission coordinator, and at the point in the story from where the trailer is, you get the tears of the Tenno, bc for most of us, we didn't expect to lose her, let alone that we had to be the gun.
So it's... personally, the second trailer is better to me, knowing the lore and having gone through the story, but I can understand why for new players who don't know anything about the lore, the first one has a better pull.
That's really interesting to hear, thank you!
The first trailer is basically the star of the journey for new Tenno. The second one is basically a sum of what we have been through and an emotional moment. (To some of us at least lol) so i like the second one more personally.
“Looks like a Rhino” is the warframe named Rhino
“Looks like a lotus” is the skin/fur texture for dogs that is called “lotus”
Loved this lol
It's exciting to see someone get excited about Warframe
46:10 the tenno do have a cloaking ability, it might have been activated, but it would have ruined the shot since there is a visible change to the character when you use it, the blue particle effect is her using transference to enter one of the frames.
That was a really nice breakdown and analysis of this awesome cinematic :)
So for a little context, the 3 Warframes(Excalibur,Mag and Volt in order of appearance) are the 3 beginner warframes u choose from when u start the game and thus the ones every player knows best.
the girl represents The Lotus, the "mother" of the Tenno who acts as your guide and has always kept u safe.
the most confusing thing to u probably is the fact that as a Tenno, u are't IN the suit, u essentially control your Warframe from a hidden location yet later on learn how to warp in yourself and use your void powers like shown in the New War trailer u also watched.
thats pretty much how it is lore wise without going to deep into it.
I hope u are enjoying the game couse while grindy it has the best combat u'll will ever see.
Thank you for watching. KZ
good luck with getting into it.. It's a truckload of content.. i stopped playing after about 100 hours because there was too much to do and no time to do it all.. getting goosebumbs watching the cinematics. they're so good..
100 hours! You're a monster haha.
I have like 1,2k hours playd
After 5k hours, I still very much enjoy the game. In fact, I can't play any other games anymore without getting frustrated, because they are so damn slooow. Warframe spoiled me and I love it.
Yeah don't try to do everything, have a goal and fulfill it, find a Warframe you want and work towards it, focus on the story or find a weapon you want to get fully op.
