First time watching , the vibes and conversation was unmatched .. 🔥🔥 I’m not even Somali or Muslim yet could relate to the cultural differences… need a part 2,3&4 !!👌🏾…. Why did you have to run in Somalia on the football pitch ?? Didn’t get that part.
The difference is that independent Somaliland (26/06/60) & italia- Somalia united under one treaty initially as they were different just like Djibouti is. They had different empires even prior to colonialism. Except when Sland took back their independence seeking re-recognition (18/05/91) after a failed union (just like Gambia and Ghanas failed union)both parties did not agree. Nawaal is right because puntland is a state in Somalia/ Somalia-italia, they were never governed separately to Somalia and always under their empires before colonialism.

@ because it’s a vague description used by people who don’t know their origins. Our ancestors never described themselves by colour. It was always tribe. I don’t think anyone is denying that we are literally dark skinned black people but in our culture we are unlike African American who go by colour because unfortunately that’s all they have.
@@Menooy22 Just because a small group of black people don't know their specific roots in Africa doesn't mean the rest of us black people should avoid the term. Besides, the term was used way before the transatlantic slave trade.
@ It’s not in the Somali vocabulary or culture to define ourselves by our colour because we’re all literally black in Somalia. We differentiate each other by tribe. Maybe in the West this makes more sense because we live amongst other black people but in Somalia we don’t. We’re all Somali but have different tribes. The terms black and white were developed by white people in the West which is exactly my point. We Africans never used them.
