Seasons 1 and 2 had really good lines and good analysis about wealth and power. Dynasty had not become this camp and over the top show it is remembered for. It could have become socially relevant.
@@TheVetoSkreeemer So while we are complaining about the decline of current TV programming, the truth could be it’s us the audience who dragged the quality down.
@@benleung6331 Exactly. What the audience will respond too the must, is exactly what will be shown. How much would these exploitive gutter reality shows exists, if there weren't an audience for them?
Pamela Sue Martin could not be TOUCHED in this role...she brought a level of insecurity to it, and straight up bitchiness that nobody could match. Emma Samms was totally and completely outmatched
+Andy Smith That would have been interesting, but I love the way Scoggins interacts with Beacham. There is a lot of chemistry there that I find simply adorable.
@@oklahomorose pamela Sue Martin was very believable as a spoiled rich girl. In the new Dynasty, Elizabeth Gillies comes off as a trashy one-liner woman!
I'll play devil's advocate and point out that the scripts Samms had to work with were nowhere near as good as the ones Martin got. Also, when Fallon returned, she went from being the "designated vixen" to the "tragedy queen" (see also Claudia, Kirby, and Pam Ewing). It wasn't until the 9th season when they started making Fallon vixen-ish again that Samms got some decent material to work with.
Let's not forget that the writing took a serious nosedive at the same time Martin left. Samms definitely was working with less-than-stellar scripts, and the writers moved from her "show vixen" to "show tragedy queen". It wasn't until they started writing Fallon as a vixen again that Samms really came into her own.
She was helped by her fans. She gave an interview to TV Guide and said the many fan letters she got were from girls, women and gay men who all wanted to be Fallon.
PSM was so good as Fallon. Spoilt rotten? Sure. But vulnerable and real aslo. I never did care much for Krystal. I find her bland, meek and boring. She Always thought she was better than everyone else .
i think your just toxic ! Krystal was kind , caring and had human decently ! she was a presence the show needed ! if everyone was like Alexis that would be boring and predictable !
@@KJTV67 Krystal was neither worthless or a bitch ! you must not have seen the show then , she saved blakes ass as well has assisted other characters many times ! she also wasnt stupid ! she was quite clever and shown her cleverness many times ! try again ! must not have watched this shows !
Fallon's arrogance is annoying. If one is going to be helpful, then be helpful and be gracious about it. Flip comments are simply childish and screams for a diaper change.
Gosh the writing is stupid. it's like the writers are pretending this was medieval times, and when they say "rich" they mean "nobility". Fallon has to teach Krystle how to act rich - because if Krystle makes a blunder, she'll be shunned by the higher society, or something. And Krystle spends these first few episodes acting like the writers wanted her to represent something, but couldn't think of anything, so instead settled to having her act like she hates the rich. Except her character isn't written to have any personality, thoughts or motivation whatsoever. She's like a clockwork doll that can only perform "body motions" but not "acting".
Fallon looks beautiful here
My God Pamela Sue Martin was great in the early years of this show ... This scene is a perfect example
I was thinking that too. How good she was in the early days.
Love the early seasons of Dynasty. Pamela Sue Martin was a gem of an actress and did a great job.
True..because money attracts money..even if it's just the look of it.
Seasons 1 and 2 had really good lines and good analysis about wealth and power. Dynasty had not become this camp and over the top show it is remembered for. It could have become socially relevant.
Inyourlap Maybe, but the audience didnt respond to that approach.
A very insightful comment. It doesn't really matter about a character's socio-economic status as long as the viewer empathizes with them.

It's too bad she left the show. She was SO much more believable as Alexis' daughter than Emma Sams. It's all in her delivery of the lines.
EOButler DuskyMoor I always Tracy Scoggins should have been the re-cast for Fallon, and Emma Samms should have been Monica.
+Andy Smith That would have been interesting, but I love the way Scoggins interacts with Beacham. There is a lot of chemistry there that I find simply adorable.
Emma Samms was so annoying as Fallon. Pammy Sue had way more balls.

@@jeffreysworld9268 exactly... Gillies is more nouveau riche. Fallon was old money and she was great at being cool and cutting you down.
One of the best scenes of the entire series.
Fallon is beautiful. I liked her and Jeff as a couple. Their had chemistry.
the real fallon
awesome love Pamela sue martin
I ve slapped her every day
Pamela Sue Martin was perfect as Fallon... she cut you down with class and crass lol. Emma Samms was great as Holly... but woefully miscast as Fallon.
I hated that Pamela Sue Martin left the show. She was amazing
To me fallon died when Pamela sue Martin left l..
Emma Samms was a joke to me as Fallon🤡
Oh yes , huge mistake to recast her ...
She was not good at all

Pamela Sue Martin was PERFECTLY cast in this role, she IS Fallon.
Pamela Sue Martin was the best Fallon
Emma samms is okay but pamela sue martin is better portraying as fallon Carrington Colby
It's too bad that pamela left
Why she left the show ?

This was the original rivalry, Fallon vs. Krystle! When Alexis arrived, they damaged the show. I love the first and second seasons.
They ruined Fallon’s character season 3. Her character 180s. She was best as a spoiled immature brat. Then she became a mom and career women 🥱
Pamela Sue artin did a good part
She was helped by her fans. She gave an interview to TV Guide and said the many fan letters she got were from girls, women and gay men who all wanted to be Fallon.

But you see, that, what you just described, was her character and personality, and she played it brilliantly
this is why ppl are pissed she left after Season 4. Fallon's charachter arc was the best on the show and then Pamela bailed
Dallas stole the name James Beaumont.

The first season was a dull snoozefest
She's quite shady for basically looking like she is older than Krystle
Binging the show now and up to season 5 and god i miss the writing of season 1. The Alexis character really ruined the show
Without Alexis, there was no Dynasty. I can't believe you think that.
