I keep comming back to this track you have made. Its so .. wow, I just dont have words for it. Melodies like Plaid and pads like BoC mixed together with rytm from Jon Hopkins, BUT in a Jay Hosking feel. I just love this track man.. well done! Cheers
Here im sitting - in front of no less than 6 synthesizers - all turned on , and ready - .... and i have ....NOTHING ---- i wanna make them play ---- and then i see your jam here .... one machine , and you have a song , just like that ! Damn you Jay ! 🤣
Try setting some limitations. Like, try and make something cool using only e notes, or try a 4:3 polyrhythm or try a random patch and force it to sound good.
I love the Circuit Tracks! This one has its advantages over the Circuit (e.g. longer patterns, more drum sounds) but also its drawbacks (poor connectivity, no master filter). Enjoy, and thanks!
@@Morenook-mn3zq As of today, it doesn't pair well with anything, honestly. It has no MIDI in, and you can't just sync it up without sacrificing one of your MIDI tracks. So it's kind of like the Tracks plus an extra synth, but without the master filter or MIDI out.
In my head I visualized the end of the movie where everything works out for the protagonist(s) and they're driving through the city, gradually leaving town into the desert and the lady pops up through the sunroof and dances to the music, etc. Credits roll.... Sounds great, though. I have an Op-1, but I like making sequences and drum beats on pads. Will be watching to see how they update it.
Great demo Jay. You almost had me buying one 😁 - IMHO it is still a great sketchpad device, would love to have it on my lap on the couch, and at this price point you can't expect more, it's pretty well loaded. Ableton almost nailed it.
Lovely piece, super progression through the song, i suppose not having many fx can be a good way of composing ! Does it allow recording of separate audio tracks into DAW all at once over USB ?
No, it doesn't have USB audio multitracking, as far as I know. But you can easily export the whole session into Ableton as separate tracks and continue to work with it from there. And thanks!
They have sequencers built in for each track, and you put the notes into the sequencer. Then when you hit play, you can choose which patterns to play back. Hope that helps!
No, there is no control-all like the Digitakt. There is a single master effects slot, and some of the effects there could be interesting, but it's not really geared toward performance as of today.
@JayHosking interesting, I am considering this v a polyend play + I love the ability to drop in effects, enable risers, beat repeats etc on the fly..so far the Seqtrak can sort of do it, but awful layout!
@@giovannidebiase6850 I'm a huge fan of the Polyend Tracker +/Mini performance page, so I get the love for the Play+. I wish there was anything like that on the Move. The Move feels great to write on, but it could use these sort of features.
Epic. Nobody else could have done this on Move. Your melodies and textures are always amazing. Top work sir!
That sticker pull at the end was *chef's kiss - another groovebox conquered! Such a great jam.
Lovely!
Hey thanks! Really looking forward to digging into your deeper dive today or tomorrow.
Nice work Jay!

Awesome! I'm just getting into composing and performing on a Circuit Tracks and your videos have provided a lot of inspiriation. Thank you!

@JayHosking do you think its so strange to pair this with a Tracks ? Your Master opinion please.

@JayHosking OMG No midi in ! Thank you so much
I really enjoyed this one! ❤️
So gorgeous, and inspiring! I don’t know about the other presets, but these synth tones were smooth like butter.

Awesome demonstration with move
This Song is a beauty❤
I like the sounds and the performance.
Wow that was amazing
Beautiful jam🔥✨️❤
Jay, the redux can be used as a kind of master filter, set the mix to 100% and manipulate the post filter freq. No resonance control unfortunately.
Hey, great tip. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, this was great and informative.
Always art
super nice!
That's a really nice song
10/10
Very nice!
Wow 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Nice jamming!
Agreed on the Move limitations. Be interesting what you make of the Polyend Synth, which is intentionally more of a players device
Nice!! 👏👏
Great vibe, that crunchy snare works extremely well here. Nice one, Jay! 🙂👍

How do these grooveboxes work? Do you put in the chords/keys/whatever before hand and then it somehow makes them all sync together in random ways?
They have sequencers built in for each track, and you put the notes into the sequencer. Then when you hit play, you can choose which patterns to play back. Hope that helps!
@@JayHosking ty yes!
can you filter all tracks at once or any other master effects to all , like an Electron? or beat repeat type effect to all?

attach heat / fx and this thing sounds so much better haha
Just confirms my bias about this gadget - even Jay Hosking can’t make it sound exciting.
With a sound of disappointment in the comments, but it sounds good 😊
