My husband is from Lima, We go back twice a year to visit his parents. So many things to see and do. We were there in October and took a flight to Cusco for 4 days. Te amo Peru. Just discovered you. You have 2 new fans Thanks Rick and David
Most people come to Lima for its food, beautiful gardens and impressive views of the Pacific Ocean from the cliffs of Miraflores and Barranco. Did you know that Peru is known as one of the six Cradles of Civilization? Or that the Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa used to write his novels at his apartment in Barranco overlooking the ocean? Or that photographer Mario Testino used to show photographs of Princess Diana in gallery in Barranco? These are some of the less known cultural aspects of Lima😀
I love this. Keep posting facts so other people can learn this info. I am a songwriter, and sitting by the sea in Barranco was so motivating and kept me inspired. I spent 3 weeks there and went to the sea almost every day to write. :)
@@MOVINNGROOVINTRAVEL Awesome. Barranco is the place to be. Chabuca Granda was Peru’s most famous song writer. Her statue is close to the Bridge of Sighs and the statue of Jose Antonio riding a Peruvian Paso horse. The following are some of her best songs: - La Flor de la Canela (The Cinnamon Flower) - Describes the beauty and elegance of a black woman waking in old Lima. - Fina Estampa (Fine Mien) -Her parents elegance and years gone by inspired her to write this beautiful song. - Jose Antonio - Dedicated to Jose Antonio de Lavalle, a pioneer breeder of Peruvian Paso horses. - Zeñó Manué (Señor Manuel) - Dedicated to Mr. Manuel Solari, a journalist that advocated for restoring the beauty of old Lima. - Bello Durmiente.(Sleeping Beauty) - Dedicated to Peru - Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs)
@@MOVINNGROOVINTRAVEL The writer Hemmingway also lived in Peru meanwhile he wrote one of his popular novels. "The Old man and the Sea". Charles Darwin also studied the Fauna and flora of the country, speciality in the Coast of Peru. Greetings ! 😊
@@MOVINNGROOVINTRAVEL Even though I lived near lima downtown I enjoyed going to the beach in summer time. Hope you can go to cuzco ,arequipa and the jungle.
As born and raised in Lima, I’d say your info is precise. I like how simple you got there. Also There’s a huge high end restaurants and bar scene too. Really lovely.
Absolutely. The food is amazing all around. I was just a broke traveler this time around. 😂. Looking forward to exploring more of the higher end options in the near future.
