I think that these guys really are the best of the best that the music reaction type of videos has to offer, giving their honest opinions about each song instead of appealing to the masses by saying they love a hugely popular song (ex. Raining Blood). More often than not they search up the lyrics and are talking about the actual musical composition of the songs on a way deeper level than most! Cheers for you two, I think I speak for the whole metal community when I say you are so welcome to explore everything this amazing genre has to offer!
Early on, you guys nailed this: it's a "mood" piece. It isn't overly complicated; it's about nailing the overall feeling of a very dark, brooding piece of classic metal. The droning aspect to the chorus is, I feel, just part of that mood. It's monotonous, detached, unemotional. It's a matter-of-fact recitation of the experience of someone else dying. It's a serial killer watching their victim, a demon not relishing in the pleasures of the act, but simply doing what it does. It's gross, it's sick, and I think it's effective. It's also, like you mentioned, a bit of a let-down compared to the incredible drumming and the darkly sick riffs throughout the song. As an old-school headbanger - which you guys super aren't, and that's 100% OK - I obviously am biased. This happens to be my favorite overall Slayer album, too. I think you guys did it justice, though. Glad you guys liked this; cheers!
Yeh - mood piece - dramatic - the intro is a tribute to black Sabbath - have a listen to Sabbaths very first song - black Sabbath off the black Sabbath album.
I think I concur with that. Granted, utilizing the devil's triad predates Sabbath (albeit not in metal), and in and of itself is very common in metal. However, the entire piece is mood-oriented, and I do agree with you that Sabbath is an undeniable influence.
This pair make a good team. The guy with the glasses is a really smart guy and the other one is a cool, nice guy. They are both very real and honest. I wish they were my friends.
I appreciate what you guys are doing, actually giving metal a chance and giving an honest opinion of the structure of the songs rather than just being scared away by the noise. I think it's difficult to judge a metal song in a single listen. As a metal fan myself, some of my favorite songs and albums I did not necessarily like on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th listen, yet I kept coming back because of something about them that held my interest. Alot (certainly not all, but alot) of metal takes some time to digest and really "get" because there is so much going on, you can't necessarily take all of it in on the first few listens. That's one of the things I really enjoy about good metal. It's deep and you can be listening to a song you've heard dozens of times before and all of a sudden notice some new facet of it that you had somehow previously overlooked.
I get your point, but metal has some of the greatest singers ever. Check out Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath and witness the magic of Ronnie James Dio's (R.I.P.) voice.
Best metal vocalist ever IMO. I'd also like give a shout out to Warrel Dane from Nevermore. Both left us much too soon and they deserve to be heard. I hope George and Ryan check out Nevermore's song "The River Dragon Has Come" sometime. Good music right there!
I respect your opinion and totally get where you're coming from with the longing for more melody in metal vocals but in Slayer's case, I actually think it works very well. Most of their songs are not meant to sound beautiful. A good comparison I often hear is that Slayer and metal bands like them are the horror movies of music. They make entertainment out of terror and morbid subject matter so beautiful/melodic voices are going to be far less common in this area of metal (though not unheard of). For the specifics of this song, I don't think of the vocals on this as flat, but rather that they are emulating droning, wailing voices from the abyss they are trying to paint a picture of with this song. The off key wails (like when he sings "go insane") just add to this, making everything feel even more distorted. For me, this is far more entrancing than a pretty voice singing the same thing. P.S. You guys are still amazing and I'm glad you like the song. Thanks for giving this great band another shot!
Could not have explained it better to them myself. His vocals are just chilling in counterpoint to the music. Adds soo much to the atmosphere of their songs. Could not see a melodic singer.. even one as talented as Dio filling this role as well.. tho I could be wrong lol.
BINGO!!!!! Best explanation for his vocalization in the chorus, I couldnt have said it better myself. In fact i believe theres a second voice dubbed beneath Toms during the chorus to emphazise that Zombiesh chanting
Outstanding comment! This is exactly it! They are painting a certain picture here, and the vocals are perfect for the particular type of imagery they are displaying. It is a "horror" type of art and I personally think the vocals are right on point! Again, your comment explains it much better than I could, great job!
Damn you explained what I feel so well! I still remember the day when I bought this LP back in fall 1990 and though I'm an atheist, this album has still been some sort of religious experience to me and Tom vocals in this part of "Seasons..." sound to me like some sort of disembodied chant and suit the song very well.
I noticed you guys a short time ago and I got completely hooked. You guys rule!!! It's refreshing to see people listening to a different kind of music with an open mind. Regarding the RAINING BLOOD REACTION I felt it was too extreme to your "untrained" ears. Being a hardcore metal fan for over 35 years and having witnessed the birth of thrash metal I would recommend 2 other songs form Slayer - CHEMICAL WARFARE and AT DAWN THEY SLEEP. These are seminal songs from the golden era of thrash. Keep up the free thinking. Cheers!!!
Fun fact: Slayer's former drummer name is Dave Lombardo and he is one of the best metal drummers ever. His technical skills are god-like. He is probably the inspiration of many many metal drummers nowadays. Ps: He has left and returned the band band like 4 times.
I actually created a syndrome name for called The dave lombardo symdrome which is when a drum can't play a too simple beat for too long and has to add stuff in it. The perfect exemple is in this Song (season) at the beginning when the distortion guitars comes in, listen at the progressive fest of drum pass dave add to the basic drum part!
What I love about you guys is that you remind me of the first times I ever heard these songs as a teenager. It’s so easy to forget those feelings of wonder when you first discover metal. Thank you.
Second chances eh? Maybe some Iron Maiden again? - The Trooper - Fear Of The Dark - Wasted Years - The Number of the Beast - Aces High - Powerslave And the list goes on. But my top pick would be The Trooper though.
Angel of death has some of the most vivid disturbing lyrics, along with a legendary change up. (Transition) Next slayer reaction please cover it. Iron Maiden has one of the more accessible frontmen- The trooper or wasted years you’ll enjoy. Anthrax also deserves a second chance- Indians
They may enjoy the middle of the song, but they will probably dislike the rest. It's probably too fast and aggressive for them at this stage. But that transition.... One of the best metal riffs of all time
I think they should try something from Hell awaits... so many transitions great lyrics and Dave Lombardos Drumming shines in this album Literally any somg from this album is a great choice especially Hell Awaits, Necrophiliac, praise of death, and AT DAWN THEY SLEEP. These songs phenominal and very underrated
Dave Lombardo is one of the best metal drummers ever. His drum fills are phenomenal. I was surprised George didn't comment on him in the first slayer video. Keep up the good stuff guys and I'm looking forward to the testament video!
The sound you are describing as "distorted reality" is actually called "dissonance" in music. The guitar at the beginning was going flat and sharp with slow string bends or whammy pressure, leaving the key the song is in, just enough to create that dissonance, or uneasiness in the music, and yes, a sort of distorted reality... It gives the intro a sort of, creeping insanity feel to it. The idea behind the song is spending time inside an insane reality in your head. There's a story behind the insane reality, but someone already commented that...lol
I dig Seasons in the Abyss the most of all their albums. I really like their song "Expendable Youth" which make connotations to young people joining various gangs and organizations that may not have their best interests involved. Also I'd love to see your reaction to The Birthday Party's song "Mutiny In Heaven" Nick Cave's first band before Nick Cave and The Badseeds.
After the first gulf war, slayer did a concert he said.. "This is for all our friends that returned back safely from the Persian gulf, it's a song about freedom of choice, expendable youth.
Tom Deverson the amount of requests for this is amazing i really hope they get around to another pantera reaction. Also this video had a cemetary gates comment with 3-4 hundred likes and now its gonzo lol hmmm
In my opinion the quintessential Slayer Track is "Angel of Death" from the Reign in Blood Album... which is in the argument for top thrash album of all time. It is absolutely iconic. Their later work has never quite matched the pure aggression of that one. Raining Blood is a pretty good track, but "Angel of Death" will light.. you... on... FIRE. Even if you didn't do a vid on it, you should check it out. It's like trying to judge the work of NWA without listening to "Straight outta Compton".
You guys have to do some Soundgarden! Chris Cornell was one of the best vocalists ever in rock. Please check out Rusty Cage! Johnny Cash even covered that song!
I’d love to hear you guys get into your groove like you did at 5:15 and do a two man vocalization of the entire song. . . guitar solos and everything. That would rock. I would buy that mp3.
Loved that you guys didn't automatically close the door on Slayer (and other bands). It just adds to why you guys are the best. TOOL or Primus next!!!!
*Rainbow - Stargazer* And if you're talking about second chances, give Dream Theater another shot, but do one of their more accessible songs. I can suggest Pull Me Under, As I Am or Panic Attack just to name a few.
Great album, but Araya's vocals weren't up to par on it. They'd have the same issues with his singing as they did with SITA. Araya is at his best with aggressive hard hitting vocals and even he has said that he wasn't aggressive enough on South of Heaven.
Come on you guys give one more chance to Iron Maiden! They are the Heavy Metal itshelf. Fast songs like Aces Hight, be quick or be dead,or the trooper. Or rythem songs like stranger in a strange land ,or 2 minutes to midnight, or wasted years. Even huge epic melodie dark songs like sevnth son of a seventh son, or the rime of the ancient marinner... so many more great songs they have
they like more groovy bass n drums songs. Thats why i said for sranger in a strange land. But seventh son of a seventh son has so many rythem and music changes that they may like it
In thrash metal, many bands steer away from the sort of soaring vocals that you might be hoping for. There is a punk aesthetic in the thrash metal bands that prefers "edge" over purity or vocal flourishes in the lyric line. Other types of metal, like classic heavy metal (Iron Maiden and Judas Priest) do have a strong drive for those soaring vocals. Power Metal can often have this, as well. A band you might check out is Manowar. Their singer has great range. "Hail and Kill" would be a good first intro, I believe.
What I like about thrash is that vocals can vary a lot, spanning the entire spectrum of metal vocals whereas in black metal, you know the vocals are likely to be imitation Quorthon, or in power metal, imitation Michael Kiske.
There are a few songs off of Gojira's The Way of All Flesh these guys need to hear fo sho. Toxic garbage island or oroborus would be great choices as well. good call on the Deftones too.
Love everything on this except Mastadon. They hit the nail on the head last time in saying that band is bland as fuck! Never heard anything exciting from them...
I completely agree - Ronnie James Dio (singer of Rainbow, Dio, and at times, Black Sabbath) is honestly the best metal singer of all time!!! You guys HAVE to check him out! EDIT: And Stargazer is an unforgettable, brilliant and moving song!
Tool- The pot. One of the coolest songs in terms of vocals in metal in my opinion. It's got an awesome groove, good transitions... it has it all. If you guys decide to revisit tool it HAS to be the pot. Keep rocking out guys!
Beastly Beast YES I have been religiously requesting this song... this is the perfect song for them to listen to. I love all of Tool but this song is perfect
I remember first getting into metal and not really liking Slayer, especially Raining Blood. I stuck to Metallica and Megadeth. Now Slayer is hands down my favorite. Takes getting used to.
Yes!! I was just thinking today that they need to either do Cemetery gates or Cowboys from Hell. And I’m still shocked they haven’t done any System of a Down song yet.
The Best reaction to " seasons " is Beavis and Butthead Hey Butthead who are those guys on horses? They're the desert police Beavis they're kicking Slayer outta the desert. For being too loud? Not hardly 😆😆😆😆
Your initial thoughts are spot on,it is very cinematic. More so in the official video, the drums are showcased more in this album than in the previous albums. I reccomend doing a reaction to this video, its a completely different experience altogether. When you see how they physically poured their heart and soul into this song its easier to appreciate.
Yes! I think those are two Maiden songs Ryan and George could really enjoy (my vote's for Powerslave)! And not too close to anything they've listened to previously.
Even Pre-Bruce. Some of their best stuff is with Dianno like Remember Tomorrow, Phantom of the Opera. Most of my favorite Bruce stuff is Where Eagles Dare, The Evil That Men Do.
I think the best thing for them would be some post 2000 Maiden, the modern production really would help them like the songs. I would suggest The Wicker Man or Dance Of Death.
They're like thrash purists so far, so maybe Fuckin' hostile, Shattered, Strength beyond strength... But Pantera without its groove isn't really Pantera... I'm Broken is an important song because it's about the serious back injuries Anselmo had at this moment, triple slipped discs for months, he couldn't stop the tour for it, so it leads to a lot a painkillers, and then to heroin, and then to Phil being an addict and a dickhead, and then to the end of Pantera and the death of Dime.
Fyodor Karamazov Yeah, Although I think stuff like strength beyond strength might be barely too much for them, I think shattered or I'm Broken would be pretty cool. I love the super heavy groovy songs Pantera has like Suicide note pt 2 or Throes of Rejection, but we gotta ease the gas on these guys first. And I wanted to add my opinion on one thing like all of us idiotic metalheads do *irony I think Phil is a cool guy now, but back then he was a dickhead. But to be fair he really wasn't in the right state of mind. Okay I'm getting too preachy now. I'll stop...
I'm so happy you did this track. Everyone loves raining blood but this has always been my favorite Slayer track. The long intro, the heavy ass main riff, the killer drum fill, the epic double solo! Thanks for giving Slayer a second chance. You guys are the best!!!
It’s arguably the most accessible Slayer song. It’s heavy as hell, but it’s not super fast like the Reign in Blood stuff. It’s a good way for folks that can’t quite get into Reign in Blood to have a gateway. I got into metal in a similar way that these guys did. It’s awesome to see them have a positive reaction to this one.
Yes I actually got into rap (from metal) because of early Beastie Boys and P.E. I guess it depends on what rap they are listening to, from fast, angry pandemonic stuff like Public Enemy's 2nd and 3rd albums, to Slayer is a much smaller step than from laid back southern rap etc . Slayer also did a song called Disorder with Ice T on vocals on the Judgment Night soundtrack.
The guitar tone in reign in blood was groundbreaking. They were the more punk influenced out of the big four. Criminally insane is a good example of the hardcore punk blazing + metal melodies
i think if you listen to the studio version first and then the live, you appreciate the difference. As a fan of the channel and Maiden i greatly approve of this request, shit i dont use twitter so someone get this request on there.
Well it falls under rock as metal is a sub-genre (very sub) of rock. I guess the point of me using the term "rock" was to encompass as much music as I possibly could.
Slayer is a pioneer to practically everything else you listen to. Sure it's dated but they stayed true and inspired many musicians to pick up what they started
DATED?! SLAYER IS NOT DATED BRUH XD This shit is more relevant than 90% of current rock bands. When people think "heavy metal" or even "hard rock", they don't think of, what, Linkin Park? Nickelback? Maroon 5? Puddle of Mudd? Creed? Nine Days? No. They think of Slayer, they think of Metallica, they think of Judas Priest, they think of Iron Maiden.
Margus Paananen I wish Tom would put more anger into his vocals when they play Disciple live. In the record he sounds so full of hate and anger, but live he sounds bored.
Really?! Believe in nothing over Godless Endeavor or This sacrament or just about anything else by Nevermore. They like stuff with changes and grooves, so give them that.
True enough, but I didn't want to throw them into the deep end, and Believe in Nothing was the first song I heard from Nevermore so it holds a special place in my heart. If they dig it, I would then suggest My Acid Words or The River Dragon Has Come or I, Voyager.
Idk man, they really liked metalica and mega death but weren't into slayer too much, they might not like people screaming their head off. Ide recommend them acid bath before death but I think they should listen to either something from the first anthrax albums or scorpions. Hell they might even like Motorhead.
Haha everyone's seen the Gremlins movie with "Angel of Death" blasting in the midst of chaos, that's exactly how these guys would take it, as chaos... Slayer takes a primer for sure. The first time I heard Slayer at 8 years they scared the shit out of me...but now essential music for me...
Slayer really "grew up" with this album. If you're interested in a good vocalist on a metal album, try Faith No More, either the songs Digging the Grave, Ashes to Ashes or Superhero.
Very true, that's why I tried to stick with songs that illustrated Mike Patton's vocal range without going over the top. I pretty much think that a new FNM listener might want to stay away from the early stuff until they can get a greater appreciation for what the band's song-writing ability is all about, imo. No offense to Chuck Mosley fans.
I'd probably put "From Out Of Nowhere" near the top of the list, among some others, for vocals and the transitions. But I've been listening for a long time, so it may show some age to new listeners (dunno).
Iron Maiden- Fear of the dark,Aces high,2 minutes to midnight,Number of the beast,Run to the hills,The evil that men do you should choose one of these songs if you want to react to another iron maiden song
Seasons in the Abyss is one of the most badass, timeless, most awesome metal songs of all time, period.
Absolutely.
Couldnt aggree more.
💯

Love it!
Yikes..
Did not know that. Thanks!
Im sure the Slayer song that will convert you is 'South of Heaven'
undango I was thinking the same thing, especially the drums in the beginning
I agree with this.
Yeah that tempo change would really get their approval. It's not like it just suddenly picks up the pace, it's sudden but it's a little subtle too.
I dunno judging from their reactions I think something like dead skin masks groove would "slay" them.
Yeah they def need to do south of heaven
That drumming was the work of the legendary Dave Lombardo!
Fuck yes!!!
Just saw him drum for The Misfits!
My fave drummer. Dave is the man.
He's called The Godfather of the double bass drum

Those lyrics are genuinely disturbing in the best way possible. Slayer lyrics are amazing.
Hard not to like DSM that half time groove just feels so bad ass. It's right up their alley.

Speaking as a guitar player who's had an immense metal influence by slayer, Dave is easily the more skilled member in the band.
Totally agree with that. Lombardo offers that unique drum feeling that is hard to find in metal today.
Jeff Fowler the band's creativity is another story, and who needs a radio? Lol
Don't you mean Dave "AK47" Lombardo?
Dave Lombardo is one of the pioneers of the double bass drum, eyes of the insane is another great example.

Josh Rudy you're not funny
Javier Dangelo IMO, it's a toss up between Dave and Nick Menza.
He's definitely up there!
And Justice For All speaks for itself
I get your point, but metal has some of the greatest singers ever. Check out Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath and witness the magic of Ronnie James Dio's (R.I.P.) voice.
Rolling Rock fuck yeah Dio has gotta be the best singer in all of metal 🤟🏻
Best metal vocalist ever IMO. I'd also like give a shout out to Warrel Dane from Nevermore. Both left us much too soon and they deserve to be heard. I hope George and Ryan check out Nevermore's song "The River Dragon Has Come" sometime. Good music right there!
I think you guys would really like Bloodline by Slayer.
You two are amazing thank you for doing what you do!!
Iron Maiden deserves a second chance as well!! :D Seventh Son of a Seventh Son! The Trooper, 2 Minutes to Midnight....
Lele Melo Phantom of the Opera or Rime of the Ancient Mariner!
Aces High!
"Run to the Hills" and "Caught Somewhere in Time" would be my recommendations.
hallowed be thy name is a great song no matter what anyone says
Didn’t they like hallowed be thy name?
I agree. As a matter of fact, I commented the same in a condensed phrase: Tom's vocals are part of the imagery they want to portray in the song.
Cheers!!!
Iron Maiden - The Trooper
Black Sabbath Heaven And Hell title track, Ronnie James Dio has amazing vocals and it would really impress you, give that one a chance :)
Even stuff from Rainbow.
I love heaven and hell but I really think they need to just get blown away with stargazer first. Them drums!
Pantera - Domination (Moscow 1991)
The Moscow 91 video is amazing... solo will make your spine quiver
I agree that it has to specifically be that show.
Hell yes!
Alan Velazquez this needs to happen.
Let’s make it happen guys! Like this comment so they can see it, it’s going to be amazing.
Give Slayer: Skeletons of Society a shot.
And Dead skin mask
Also Blood Red
@@dawnmoon7284 Dead Skin Mask is the only Slayer song I like.
Skeletons of society is my fav
“Gemini” is also an unpopular original hidden gem in one of the best cover albums ever recorded, if I might interject.
Luis Guillermo Carranza he’s in Suicidal Tendencies now
What I love about you guys is that you remind me of the first times I ever heard these songs as a teenager. It’s so easy to forget those feelings of wonder when you first discover metal. Thank you.
Navnith Grewal Man. I'm looking for that feeling of wonder. I don't know if I'll ever find it again.
You noticing the drummer.... DUDE! That's the whole KEY to Slayer, Dave Lombardo is THE MAN. You make me proud, younglings. WhiplashJoe
The drums are showcased in their songs, and for good reason too ....Dave Lombardo is the greatest metal drummer of all time.
The little beatbox at 5:15 is low key 🔥🔥🔥
Second chances eh? Maybe some Iron Maiden again?
- The Trooper
- Fear Of The Dark
- Wasted Years
- The Number of the Beast
- Aces High
- Powerslave
And the list goes on. But my top pick would be The Trooper though.
Robert Vaccarini the trooper is one of the most epic song i've ever heard
Wrathchild!!
Iron MAiden Rime of THe Ancient Mariner !
ua-cam.com/video/2AmrIydnXIs/v-deo.html
or if they wanna hear maybe the best drumming of mcbrain they should listen to where eagles dare ;)
Aces High or Powerslave for sure
Angel of death has some of the most vivid disturbing lyrics, along with a legendary change up. (Transition)
Next slayer reaction please cover it.
Iron Maiden has one of the more accessible frontmen- The trooper or wasted years you’ll enjoy.
Anthrax also deserves a second chance- Indians
Yes.
They may enjoy the middle of the song, but they will probably dislike the rest. It's probably too fast and aggressive for them at this stage. But that transition.... One of the best metal riffs of all time
I think they should try something from Hell awaits... so many transitions great lyrics and Dave Lombardos Drumming shines in this album
Literally any somg from this album is a great choice especially Hell Awaits, Necrophiliac, praise of death, and AT DAWN THEY SLEEP. These songs phenominal and very underrated
If they do another Maiden song, my vote would be Aces High
Jeremey Lampson I was about to ask the same
Dave Lombardo is one of the best metal drummers ever. His drum fills are phenomenal. I was surprised George didn't comment on him in the first slayer video. Keep up the good stuff guys and I'm looking forward to the testament video!
Maybe because neither Raining Blood nor Seasons in the Abyss don't show off Lombardo's skill that much
One reason why people used to say Lars sucked is because he was compared to his contemporary, Dave Lombardo. Side by side, Lars is shit, Dave rules.
With one exception... Lars on ...And Justice For All blows Dave away, as far as complexity is concerned
Black Sabbath... Heaven and Hell(Dio on vocals), Rainbow Stargazer or Dio Last in Line. Anything with Ronnie James Dio. \m/
I vote Stargazer
I would go with something from the Heaven and Hell (band) "The Devil You Know" which is probably the best Metal record of the 2000's
I second Stargazer. What an incredible track
Matthew Mohri this is probably my go-to Slayer album. It is the album that converted me to a Slayer fan.
By far my favorite album of theirs. Maybe my favorite metal album of all time
My "go to" Slayer album will always be South of heaven, but Seasons is no 2 for sure!
After the first gulf war, slayer did a concert he said.. "This is for all our friends that returned back safely from the Persian gulf, it's a song about freedom of choice, expendable youth.
Some Birthday Party. Yes! Sonny's Burning, too
Discovered you guys this evening and now it's 2am (in UK) and I gotta go to work in a few hours. I'm addicted already!
herbgerb likewise. Just discovered them this week. In the UK to. They put fresh perspective on old favourites.
Yep, I'm there right now....hours in!
Can't stop thinking of songs I'd like to see their reactions to.
fkn same man 😂😂😂
Same here!
Same here only 2 months after you ;-)
Every time I listen to Slayer, I picture them playing in a cave lit by torches.. the word that comes to my mind is evil or darkness.
Listen to Domination - Pantera (live at Moscow)
I've been asking for this and really hope they get a chance to do it at some point.
Cemetery Gates would be a better choice. Beautiful ballad
Yeeeeeesssssss
It's batshit insane :)
Not the same groove. They love groove and the energy so i'd say Domination live
Pantera - Domination !!!! pls
THE VIDEO LIVE
No, no, no, you've got it all wrong folks! Everyone knows iff they're gonna do Pantera they gotta hear "Use My Third Arm"!
Has to be Moscow live tho
Cemetery Gates. They want to hear good vocals and Phil kills it with the highs at the end of that song.
Yep, agree......Angel of Death is definitely required listening for the discerning metal appreciator!
This is actually the 1st song that introduced me to slayer and ive been a fan of them since R.I.P Jeff Hanmen
wow, a fan who doesn't know it's Hanneman
Pantera-Domination live ins Moscow!
Marky Lugo that fucking breakdown in front of 500000 angry russians
lol no, you just googled at the first result it came
Oh my God yes!!!
Decent but Spill the Blood" would've been a better show of Slayerospherics
You guys have to do some Soundgarden! Chris Cornell was one of the best vocalists ever in rock. Please check out Rusty Cage! Johnny Cash even covered that song!
Hell yeah! - this is one of my favorite: ua-cam.com/video/wK6EF3oX_FQ/v-deo.html
Mike Dallo wait.... Cash wasn't the original? That's crazy!
Noooooo. Jesus Christ pose
slaves and bulldozers is probably his best vocal performance imo
Yes!!!
Do Children Of The Grave by Black Sabbath
WesleyAPEX killer tune! Now that they're retired I got to get my back piece finished! Reunion's cover work
WesleyAPEX N.I.B. or Fairies Wear Boots
and children of the sea XD
aww shit I watch your baseball highlights
Good stuff
I’d love to hear you guys get into your groove like you did at 5:15 and do a two man vocalization of the entire song. . . guitar solos and everything. That would rock. I would buy that mp3.
Pantera- cemetery gates
Iron Maiden- fear of the dark
Alex Rosas Wasted Years would be a good one
Fear of the Dark 100%
Where Eagles Dare would be better.
Fear of the Dark. I agree.
Save me avenged...
Loved that you guys didn't automatically close the door on Slayer (and other bands). It just adds to why you guys are the best. TOOL or Primus next!!!!
primus hell yeah
Primus!!!!!
*Rainbow - Stargazer*
And if you're talking about second chances, give Dream Theater another shot, but do one of their more accessible songs. I can suggest Pull Me Under, As I Am or Panic Attack just to name a few.
This song got me through some long nights during the Gulf War. I wore my Walkman out with this cassette tape.
I still say Slayer South of Heaven album has their best grooving songs, not all fast.
Great album, but Araya's vocals weren't up to par on it. They'd have the same issues with his singing as they did with SITA. Araya is at his best with aggressive hard hitting vocals and even he has said that he wasn't aggressive enough on South of Heaven.
The drums on that album are amazing too.
Iron Maiden deserves a second chance too.....try Aces High or Powerslave
Wasted Years
Aces High would make a great second choice. It's pure energy. I'm actually learning to play it on guitar now.
Or something newer, as they said Hallowed sounded dated. Fear of the Dark, Blood Brothers or Dance of Death.
I totally agree, also The Trooper
Hallowed be thy name, though one of their classic songs is not the one for you. Listen to wasted years, Number of the Beast or the trooper.
god damn you guys... NOW I'M IN THE SLAYER MOOD. Guess I'll go listen to Angel of Death for the 600th time now...
666th time?
Need to do War Ensemble.....seriously
Then they will really understand who Dave Lombardo is.
Come on you guys give one more chance to Iron Maiden! They are the Heavy Metal itshelf. Fast songs like Aces Hight, be quick or be dead,or the trooper. Or rythem songs like stranger in a strange land ,or 2 minutes to midnight, or wasted years. Even huge epic melodie dark songs like sevnth son of a seventh son, or the rime of the ancient marinner... so many more great songs they have
I think they'd like the Trooper. Lyrically at least.
Wrathchild!
Please dont!
yes i didnt thought of that! They have so many different songs
they like more groovy bass n drums songs.
Power metal would definately be something they'd like. Vocals are a centerpiece of that genre.
Iron Maiden could pass as progressive, but Priest? Not so much. They are regular balls to the wall heavy metal.
Wouldn't Die for Metal be a better intro?
Hail and kill is an epic song choice.
Here's some suggestions
Deftones - Change
Gojira - Esoteric Surgery
Mastodon - Oblivion
Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls
Tool - The Pot
There are a few songs off of Gojira's The Way of All Flesh these guys need to hear fo sho. Toxic garbage island or oroborus would be great choices as well. good call on the Deftones too.
Agalloch - Limbs
Be quiet and drive far away
Love everything on this except Mastadon. They hit the nail on the head last time in saying that band is bland as fuck! Never heard anything exciting from them...
hell yea, Esoteric Surgery is my favourite Gojira song!!
Slayer's "At Dawn They Sleep" is one of the most underrated songs they have, with parts I think you'll enjoy, but this is also an excellent choice.
U are absolutely right!! That whole album is vastly under rated
@@kevinmitchell4018 Yep, Hell Awaits is their best album
Rainbow - Stargazer
This needs to happen.
Suicidal Tendencies -You Can't Bring Me Down. Epic groove/jam!
You guys have grown so much. Your next phase is to start going to metal shows and review the live performances.
Get in the pit and judge the show that way lol
haha
Slayer disciple!!! Please:)
That would be hilarious.
Amen!!!
My favorite hahaha!
you wanna hear a great vocalist on a epic metal song, try STARGAZER by Rainbow
I completely agree - Ronnie James Dio (singer of Rainbow, Dio, and at times, Black Sabbath) is honestly the best metal singer of all time!!! You guys HAVE to check him out!
EDIT: And Stargazer is an unforgettable, brilliant and moving song!
I'd call Stargazer metal, but it's right at the transition from rock to metal. like, that album is about as metal as it gets for that time period.
silver black \m/
It's possible that Stargazer followed by A Light in The Black is the best 15 or so minutes in music.
Also requested this among others. I agree they would enjoy it, the lyrics, the passion of the vocals and the fucking bass groove!
Beastly Beast Yes! The Pot!!!
Can't agree more! I swear, if you do it, George's gonna go "wooo!!" at 4:37 ;)
Yes more Tool!!!
I want to thank you guys
not just for giving slayer another chance
But for picking my favorite song
Well done
Anthony Jackson hell yeah
Anthony Jackson they should do angel of death
Anthony Jackson Slayer never needs chance,Slayer is Slayer,They are lucky that they could listen to Slayer ;)
I remember first getting into metal and not really liking Slayer, especially Raining Blood. I stuck to Metallica and Megadeth.
Now Slayer is hands down my favorite.
Takes getting used to.
2WorldWar2 SAME! I only liked raining blood at the beginning when I still didn’t like slayer. And now I love them so much seen them thrice live!
I liked Metallica at first. Megadeth was an acquired taste to me and they are my current favorite band. I also started liking slayer too.
Somehow I immediately liked Slayer more than those bands.
i still put metallica and megadeth way above slayer on my list
@@yessir6427 cringe
Pantera Domination live in moscow!!!!
William yep
Best solo in Metal.
Samo Pozitiva Pantera in their prime! So badass!
Slayer did have the best metal drummer in Dave Lombardo.
dajerk70 and then Kolias, Gene Hoglan, Vinnie Paul and so many others laghed so hard OH SO HARD
Mario from Gojira has something to say about that
Charles Hendrix dude from CARNIFEX would show Mario a few things
Ο ΧΩΣΤΗΡΑΣ fucking gene hoglan man you're right he's a fucking genious
Matt Garstka from Animals As Leaders is a phenomenal drummer. One of my favorites along with Mario Duplantier.
Pantera - Cemetery Gates
yes. this
Not music video.
Yes!! I was just thinking today that they need to either do Cemetery gates or Cowboys from Hell. And I’m still shocked they haven’t done any System of a Down song yet.
lookin for Primal Concrete Sledge ...
I couldnt agree more
The Best reaction to " seasons " is Beavis and Butthead
Hey Butthead who are those guys on horses?
They're the desert police Beavis they're kicking Slayer outta the desert.
For being too loud?
Not hardly 😆😆😆😆
Not loud enough dude...
Dave Lombardo (drummer) was amazing in slayer.
He's the reason I hold Slayer so near and dear to my heart. Fuckin Legend
Megadeth - Hangar 18 lml
YES!!!
He'll yea
Can you guys react to Rainbow in the Dark or Holy Diver by dio
I'd almost t rather recommend the cover, and subsequently the video, by killswitch engage. Arguably a better version than the original
@@davidjackson495 not a chance.

@@davidjackson495 not a chance
Your initial thoughts are spot on,it is very cinematic. More so in the official video, the drums are showcased more in this album than in the previous albums. I reccomend doing a reaction to this video, its a completely different experience altogether. When you see how they physically poured their heart and soul into this song its easier to appreciate.
Everybody deserves a second chance! So please do anothor Iron Maiden reaction, i suggest Powerslave or The Number of the Beast. You guys are awesome
Yes! I think those are two Maiden songs Ryan and George could really enjoy (my vote's for Powerslave)! And not too close to anything they've listened to previously.
dbbatel yeah, something different and since they also take a look at the lyrics, it could be very interesting
I'm a sucker for Paschendale, For The Greater Good of God, When the Wild Wind Blows, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns.
Do Cemetery Gates - Pantera
yes its time for another Pantera reaction.....I'm Broken would be good....think it has all the required bits that they tend to like.
Not the music video. Full song.
I'd Love to see Cowboys From Hell
Ivan Campos to me this album is their fucking masterpiece. From start to finish. My fav Slayer album of all time.
The guitar tone in reign in blood was groundbreaking. They were the more punk influenced out of the big four. Criminally insane is a good example of the hardcore punk blazing + metal melodies
Iron Maiden - Rime of the Ancient Mariner
This song is Maiden's very best! What a masterpiece! Please do this song!
Has to be live, too. Maiden has to be experienced live.
Must be the version in the Best of the beast.
The reaction video would be an hour. Stopping at every “transition “. Song is 13 min. I can see an edit after the poem though
i think if you listen to the studio version first and then the live, you appreciate the difference. As a fan of the channel and Maiden i greatly approve of this request, shit i dont use twitter so someone get this request on there.
Pantera Domination live in Moscow.
Literally the best live performance video for rock. I really can't think of anything more exciting.
XxMETALJAREDxX did... you.. just call ... domination... with a heavy ass riff... rock?
Well it falls under rock as metal is a sub-genre (very sub) of rock. I guess the point of me using the term "rock" was to encompass as much music as I possibly could.
Definitely react to this!
This song is literally requested in every video. How have they not done it yet??....
Slayer is a pioneer to practically everything else you listen to. Sure it's dated but they stayed true and inspired many musicians to pick up what they started
Nah man slayer is one of a kind
Slayer - Disciple
Very much this, only please please do the studio version.
Margus Paananen I wish Tom would put more anger into his vocals when they play Disciple live. In the record he sounds so full of hate and anger, but live he sounds bored.
Lmao that is not the song for them
Ttthhaaat might not be the best song for them to... a... “review.” Lol. Good song. Really really dark though.
Yes!
Nevermore - Believe in Nothing.
Amazing band whose vocalist was amazing.
CheshireDemonX sanctuary-Die for my sind
CheshireDemonX, absolutely "Believe in Nothing"! :) RIP, Warrel Dane...
Really?! Believe in nothing over Godless Endeavor or This sacrament or just about anything else by Nevermore. They like stuff with changes and grooves, so give them that.
This x1000
True enough, but I didn't want to throw them into the deep end, and Believe in Nothing was the first song I heard from Nevermore so it holds a special place in my heart. If they dig it, I would then suggest My Acid Words or The River Dragon Has Come or I, Voyager.
Megadeth - Hangar 18
or polaris
Or good mourning/black friday
Dude trust me I’ve requested that song si many times with them and they still haven’t done it....
Or What makes you beautiful by one ditection. Best song ever
I VERY HIGHLY recommend Children of Bodom. Melodic, catchy, EXCELLENT guitar and drum work.

Anything off of The Sound of Perseverance is a masterpiece, IMO
True af!
Idk man, they really liked metalica and mega death but weren't into slayer too much, they might not like people screaming their head off. Ide recommend them acid bath before death but I think they should listen to either something from the first anthrax albums or scorpions. Hell they might even like Motorhead.
a masterpiece indeed
idk i just feel like they will appreciate the instrumentals. theyve already listened to lamb of god which also has harsh vocals
You owe it to everybody to hear Angel of Death
They wont like that. It is way too aggressive for them. That is why they didnt like Reign in blood.
How about "black magic"?
They don't owe anybody, anything.
Drumming Dave Lombardo being the best drummer ever!!!!!!!!!!!
TOOL - SOBER
Austin Pate aenema
I think 'Sober' is a better choice first since it's more accessible. Aenema down the road though
Right in Two, easily digested lyrics and great story and just music in general
The Philosopher by Death
LAN despite the username Death is my favorite band
Burden by Opeth. You will love the haunting melody
Yes!!
Slayer really "grew up" with this album. If you're interested in a good vocalist on a metal album, try Faith No More, either the songs Digging the Grave, Ashes to Ashes or Superhero.
Yes!!!!
Caffeine
some Faith No More would be great!
Although a first song choice is kinda tough to nail down, and probably varies quite a bit from person to person.
Balls to the wall ,Accept
Iron Maiden- Fear of the dark,Aces high,2 minutes to midnight,Number of the beast,Run to the hills,The evil that men do you should choose one of these songs if you want to react to another iron maiden song
Agree with TayROC. Plus please no Fear of the Dark. A Maiden pop song if I ever heard one.
