When you look at the Old Testament prophets through the lense of them being types of Christ, you realize that God doesn't contradict himself at all. He doesn't give a law and then say to break it, or sometimes break it. He truly is unchanging (James 1:13-17). It's our misguided interpretations that mess things up. If it don't fit, it ain't legit. Thank you. One thing I never understood is how Adam could be "the": Son of God (Moses 6:22) and Christ can be the only begotten son of God. Adam is the Firstborn and the Gospel was preached to him and by him. (Moses 5:58-59). If we want to be part of the Church of the Firstborn, what does that mean? Adam was designated Lord of the whole earth and was given dominion over everything on the face of the earth. Maybe even Lord of lords. Lorenzo Snow made an interesting comment to Orson Whitney in 1899 as reported by Orson Whitney. It would go against everything we have ever been taught but would explain so many things if considered. "8 Jun 1899. During our talks he (Lorenzo Snow) told me that his sister, the late Eliza R. Snow Smith, was a firm believer in the principle of reincarnation and that she claimed to have received it from Joseph the Prophet, her husband. He said he saw nothing unreasonable in it, if it came to him from the Lord or his oracle." Diary of Orson F. Whitney, quoted on p. 78. I like the term multiple mortal experiences rather than reincarnation. I believe another name for Eve is Zion. If you read scripture carefully she was never told by God that she would die if she partook of the fruit. (Moses 3:18-21) Only Adam was told that and it happened before Eve was placed on the earth. Zion was taken from the City of Enoch into the bosom of the father.(Moses 7:69) She lived with the people of Enoch for many years. (Moses 7:68) Eve has many names including Charity. Moroni designates Charity as female.. (Moroni 7:45 "Charity seeketh not her own"). I think she is even called earth in Moses. (Moses 7:48) I believe Eve and Emma Smith are the closest examples of the qualities of Charity as explained in Moroni 7. Regardless of how Emma was treated by her enemies after Joseph's death. The Book of Moses is so interesting to me because of all the truth that is in it. It makes me wonder if Joseph Smith is explaining his first vison instruction through a book he called the Book of Moses.
