This is not a failure this is deeply successful expression of a man's dream and desire to fly like bird its actually quite poignant and moving and artistic even if it doesn't intend to be any of that.
Most of us dream and do nothing at all about it this video represents the the very thing that makes us human.

@@GregoryWingmaster oh man you have no idea of how many times I bailed off of the roof of my moms house with some contraption flapping with me on the way down. In the 7th grade, I drew out what had to be the controls to an airplane with ailerons, rudder the works. It was years later when I found a set of old plans that I realized what I had drawn was more or less correct. I eventually got my license and flew a few birds of my own but the itch to build has lingered. I’ve got a Gyroplane slowly beginning to look like one in my garage at the moment. Good luck with your dreams. Octave Chanute and Otto Lilienthal would have been proud.

It's amazing you can lift and level those long independent wing panels. At least take-off on a suitable slope or cliff is theoretically possible. Gonna be a fast short glide unless its suitably windy from the right wind direction. Independently swiveling wing panels is not a bright idea because muscle power must maintain basic wings level during flight. Play it safe. Just get a conventional manufactured hang glider. A large single surface one. Take lessons.
But then again let's see an actual launch attempt since you went to the trouble. You won't fall far on a small hill.
that is good advice George....I have been flying hang gliders for decades....check out the newer clips on my channel....the newer prototypes use a WW sail....and actually the wings are remarkably easy to control...static and dynamic stability are in the design and what I am testing for in the clip you watched...I now live on the coast...and testing is a lot more effective at sea level with a stiff breeze....I leave the cliff jumping to hang gliding for now :)

Хотите полететь, как птица? Нужно использовать мускулы ног и рук, синхронно с мускулами спины. А это возможно только повторением движений лыжника в прыжке и толкающий сразу двумя палками с распрямлением спины после толчка. Представьте, что вы такими прыжками поднимаетесь по межэтажной лестнице, только опорой вместо лестницы воздух под крыльями, и Вы ногами, руками и спиной толкаете крылья вниз. А когда разгибаетесь, крылья поднимаются вверх сами. Только такими прыжками можно отрываться от Земли и набрать необходимую высоту. А дальше, как Альбатрос, ловите воздушный поток.
Вы наверное знаете, что Альбатрос летает несколько суток не производя посадку и при этом не делает взмахов крыльями.
Только так можно осуществить мечту Человека: - летать, как птица (с использованием всех перечисленных выше мышц в прыжках, подпрыгивая как лыжник, толкаясь двумя палками. Вес крыльев 10 кг., а площадь 12 кв. метров. Успехов Вам.

@@GregoryWingmaster I am 75 years old, I worked as a designer in aviation all my life, when I was young I realized that a person has strongly developed muscles of the legs and back, and only using these muscles, a person will be able to rise into the air with flapping wings. Modern materials of the wings and the transfer of force from the muscles, allow you to get off the ground, but not high (like jumping up stairs: 2 ... 3 floors), and then planning (like the Albatross). I wish you success.

You must probably have a firmer construction where you sit in a seat and can drive the wings with your arms and legs. You have the strongest muscles in your legs. Study the films of those who make elastic band driven birds.

since the 70ies people fly with hang-gliders, like birds! Not sure about this "sky-bike" but I didn't see much flying there. If you want to feel like a bird, learn hang-gliding. Lots of schools all over the world.
