- Supernatural Season 8 Episode 1 We need to talk about Kevin. It's been 1 Year since Dean was sent Purgatory with Castiel after they killed Dick Roman.
Crowley has kidnapped Kevin, the prophet, to read the word of God. And Sam got a dog!

When Dean did as he promised Sam, and tried to live a normal life, he dug through everything he could find intending to free Sam from Hell in spite of that promise. He tells Sam what a wreck he was and god knows why Lisa even put up with what a mess he was. Then our souless Sam tells Dean he's been back on earth almost that whole year Dean was agonizing over not bring able to rescue him. Now its Dean's turn - he spent a full year in Purgatory - and he's not exactly feeling the brotherly love from Sam who did not look for him. Dean has had abandonment issues since almost forever, he's on edge like a soldier coming back from a tour of duty. Do you see this just getting swept under the rug right away?
As for Dean demanding to know where "the angel" is, he probably did use Cas' name at first but quickly learned it might appear as sentimental or a weakness. Demanding to know where the Angel is, gives more authority, a sense of danger regarding this heavenly creature that is somehow in Purgatory as well as this human who appears to be on a deadly, single-minded mission.
I was laughing when you were sputtering on about the "one year later". Come on, girl. You know how the writers love to spoon feed us the full reveal of what happened while our boys were seperated, lol.

Love your humor. You make me laugh out loud. This is one of my favorite seasons, with 1 minor exception, so I hope you enjoy it as well. Yes, you will have a lot of questions, but I like the way it goes and I really like the purgatory storyline. Dean did live with Lisa and Ben when Sam went to hell, but he did spend that whole time looking for a way to rescue him too. I really liked Lisa and do which she had a bigger role in season 6. I love Cas so I hope we (by we, I mean you, since I know!) find out what happened to him. I also love Benny too.

Happy New Year to you too! I started my year with COVID, again! I hope this isn't a sign of the year to come! Still with the "dick" jokes. Love it!!! ROTFLMAO!! Never change. Now that Dick is dead, he, & all the Leviathans are too, are in Purgatory because that's where all monsters go when they die. I love season 8!! Purgatory Dean is HOT! The vet is a bitch! With all of the resources available to him, Sam should've looked for him. I LOVE his hair, btw. Love it! Benny is awesome. Kevin is a genius! I can't wait for another reaction! BTW -another reactor said she had to watch a movie called "We Need To Talk About Kevin" for a class she was taking. So I thought I would watch it. It had nothing to do with this Kevin & I almost stopped watching. But I'm glad I watched the whole thing. I will say no more. Some of the reviews give away the ending. Just a heads up if you're interested in watching it.

Sam was far enough away from Dick to not get caught in the blast. Cas & Dean were right next to Dick.
Dean can survive anywhere. He's adaptable. There's no reason why he wouldn't survive purgatory, but you can tell he has PTSD. You'll get to see more of Purgatory throughout the beginning of the season.
Kwvin doesn't know how to close the gates of Hell yet. He only read that there IS a way to do it. S8 is all about discovering that information.
Here's the thing about Sam not looking for Dean: Jared HATED that part of the storyline. He felt Sam would absolutely try to figure out what happened to Dean. He also HATED the Amelia storyline, as does 99% of the fandom. She's an utter bitch and a terrible veterinarian. No respectable doctor would force an animal on someone they didn't know. She didn't know Sam's circumstances, if he treats animals well, if he's got a medical condition that precludes taking care of an animal. We HATE Amelia.
The actor who plays Benny, Ty Olsson, played another vampire in S2 named Eli. Part of Lenore's nest, who fed on animal blood, not humans. The ones who let Sam go. That's probably where you recognize him from.
Totally agree with you. I am definitely in that 99% percentile on despising Amelia. I'm also an animal lover, so I hate that too, how she forces a dog on Sam. She is rude, exasperating, boring, and crass. Sorry, I can't always control my venom in regards to her! And you're right Dean is highly adaptable. I remember when they were in prison in season 2, he fit in. In Hollywood in season 2, he became a PA, and fit right in. He's a chamelon. And if any human can last in purgatory, I'd put my money on Dean.
One thing Sam is known for is research, If he wanted he could have questioned a cross- road demon, summon a reaper to ask if Dean was in Heaven or Hell...
