Great pointers. One more thing to add. First watch purchase you really want to find out what the service costs are and who outside of the watch brand can work on the watch. In some cases the service are just as expensive as the cost to buy. That might help in deciding whether it's worth it to maybe spend a bit more up front for something that holds value or even goes up in value.
