These old tractors had HORSE-power; new ones have ponies. FI, this '38hp' Deere could drag two of Deere's tiny modern (Asian) 38hp hydraulic pump on wheels around the pasture three times without slipping a wheel.
This tractor could use a tune up. Adjust the timing and carborator while on the dyno. Notice the slight smoke and miss when the the rpms were pulled down? I thought the 70 series replaced the G. My 720 gas turned out 65 HP on the dyno.
How is 38HP a big deal? Just curious. It doesn't sound like a lot but these tractors last forever and pull hard. Just interesting how only 38hp moves mountains?

It put out 38HP.

This is what a tractor is supposed to sound like...
No. It’s supposed to run on 4 cylinders and be painted blue and say Ford on it.
They sound good as well...

Hydrostatic stuff is junk and old tractors are better and made in USA.

It sure could use a tune up!
I look at the ones for Ford a lot.
My first tractor dyno. No stats at all. Bummer. Torque is insane I bet.
They didn’t show us the numbers of horsepower or torque.
I would like to know why it seems that everbody runs a straight pipe? I belive theysound better with a muffler. I used to run most of these tractors.
They probably just want to be center of attention.

It was a big deal when these tractors were built, they were released in 1937. They run at less than 1000rpm too. You need torque to pull.
@@MrPaw45 how much torque does it make?
