@@BasementBrandon I will settle this for the masses when I put out my video in a day or two! I pause it at the bottom and freeze for all to see he hit proper depth by having the top of his quads parallel with the ground. I was surprised with the red light, but as you see here he didn’t let it throw him off. Unless Brandon would have gone for a heavier final attempt (and hit it), it didn’t seem to affect his success at this meet.
Thanks for the props my dude (and promotion of my channel)! It’s neither here nor there at this point, but you hit proper depth on the 1st squat attempt and when you freeze the video at your lowest point, the tops of your quads are parallel with the ground! Not claiming bad judgment, but if you look at the position of the left judge, she has to do a peekaboo look through the 2 spotters and she changes her position for your 2nd & 3rd attempts, rightfully so. Nonetheless, the total at your current weight is fantastic. You actually proved you can lean down and drop weight, while gaining strength!
Congrats Brandon…my first meet coming up in July, and your prep and content has helped me out a lot… I’m as tall as u and weigh the same and bout the same age and pull conv as well.… that’s why I’ve related so much during your meet prep
On the 3rd deadlift, the red light on the bar under the circular red light indicates either “Failure to lock the knees straight at the completion of the lift.” or “Failure to stand erect with the shoulders back.” (see pages 16 & 17 of the USAPL Technical Rules book).
Nice Brandon! I have watched you for like the last 7 or 8 years on and off. You’re still killin it! I have always been impressed with your squat man because of the ROM you have. Bench and deadlift are solid too.
Congrats on your meet! I competed up in Rhode Island last October and found there weren't a lot of folks competing but the supporters were awesome. Wish I was there to see you do your thing!
Man, Brandon Campbell? Holy crap man its been a very long time since ive last watched you. Since like 2016/17 when I was a senior in high school lol. Hope you’re doing great man, glad I ran into your content again.
Very nice! I was kind of hoping for a few screen shots of the app showing how it picks your weights for each lift, but obviously at the meet you've got other priorities. I'm prepping for a possible meet in July, so I was interested in how it does things on meet day (or at least, picking opening weights prior to meet day). FYI, if you had done that meet in South Carolina where I live, you'd have blown away the current records in the 100kg Master 1a class (117.5 squat, 92.5 bench, 170 deadlift, 380 total). Just saying, the fact that you live in a "small" state shouldn't detract from that truly outstanding performance and the records you set. Finally, as a side note, I was out shopping with my wife when my phone made the notification that you had posted this video. I inadvertently blurted out "Oh, cool... Brandon's posted his meet video." I got a very strange look from her at that point. Thankfully nobody else was within hearing range.
You mentioned that not a lot of people compete in your age group nor do a lot of people compete in RI, so you made it seem like it wasnt as meaningful. I saw it from the other perspective, like when a 100yr old person does a marathon (sometimes the news shows an older person do some exceptional activity), you’re an inspiration, that more people should come out, that you carry on the torch, that its possible for nattys to achieve something (against the backdrop of the social media and Hollywood, flooded world of PEDs).
Watched it few times and it looks like you dipped little bit at the bottom on the second squat but the third was the same as first so no idea. Amazing strength and we can see what a absolute unit of a man you are. Huge
Congrats man. Winning the Open in your weight class as a Master is sick. Strength is legit. I started using the AI after watching your videos on it a few times and am curious if you think it's dramatically better than using some of the available free PL peaking programs out there.
I don't know if I'd say dramatically, but for me it has been better than a basic static program I've downloaded. Prob not as good as having a coach, which I've done, but also is like 4-5x more expensive per month.
Again, super stoked for you mate! Great wrapup video as always and glad to hear you're positive about the results and in a good frame of mind today. For me the mental aspect is definitely the hardest part too, its so much motivation seeing your results, plus it feels like watching an old friend with these videos. Keep it up and roll on the next meet!
Great job!!! I've been using the Juggernaut AI app for my Virginia State Open meet in 3 weeks. Thank you for all of your insight throughout your process! Stay Big 💪🏾
Congrats! I'm really impressed you pulled off your last squat attempt as well as I thought the spotter on the right was way too close to the bar and it looked like he hit the bar on the way down which I was afraid of and would throw off anyone's lift.
The 3rd one almost threw me during my set up. I really try to dig in at home before unracking but since the combo rack is not secured down it almost felt like it was going to tip
the basics of it are is a number that correlates how much you weigh to how much you lift. this way you're able to compare strength in general across people who weigh different amounts.
I've been using the app for over a year now. Used it in a meet for the first time in April. I think it would be nice if it included warm-ups for meet day (weight, reps, and how long to wait between warm up reps). Also, good on you for handling yourself in meets.
Took a good long look at the deadlift - two possibilities for the red light - the bar slides up your thigh - so maybe she thought you were hitching?? OR it doesn't seem as though you push your hips (and belt) as far forward as previous two lifts, so maybe she didn't think you were at full lock-out/extension??? It definitely looks good to me. Great meet, keep pushing.
The 1st squat looked good. The deadlift red light due to shoulders not back far enough? Yet, the 2 side judges had a better view of your shoulders and gave you a good lift. Great job, Brandon! 👍👏
So I'll update my assistance work to address what I think my weak points are based off my attempts regardless. Prob give myself a week to just mess around a bit in the gym and move before committing to getting back on a dedicated routine. Give my mind and body a bit of a break.
You know you’re old when the kiddos are telling you to just not fall asleep. Lol smart meet man great job with that 3rd squat selection with the challenge of repeating the first attempt and skipping the last bench. Deadlift was butter! Glad you enjoyed it. Got me almost wanting to powerlift again. Almost…
Cant argue with results. The all time pr total was absolutely there but that wacky squat situation threw everything off so it's understandable. total doesn't always tell the whole story this was a huge result in my book when you can lose that much weight, have squats left in the tank and still up your wilks, congrats!
Well played, young blood. I feel much better about my grinders seeing your slow lifts. I always just assumed RPE10 was supposed to be that slow 🤣 Loved the staircase in that final bench too. More triceps baby!!!!
I saw your ig post earlier and the only reason I think for the squats is that the ones that got redlighted it looked like your hips shot up first coming up. That was the only thing I saw similar. The first one looked good so I’m still confused why red light it even if hips shot up a little faster, you hit depth.
Nice work! Could you elaborate more on how you handled the RPE10 weeks during prep? I’m struggling to find a balance between racking them a rep shy and calling it rpe9 versus AMRAPing them if I slightly undershoot load to a true RPE10. The app seems to give you flexibility to do both…?
I’ve noticed some training videos in the past where you’ve used a deadlift bar. Have you been training more with a stiff bar leading up to your USAPL meet to prepare for their requirements?

I usually agree with red lights but most of yours left me so confused on the IG post. Either way a fantastic meet!
I felt like the first squat was good, but I'm obviously biased lol

I get that, but it's not very usual for both side judges to give whites and the front to redlight it on something like that.

Thanks dude! Prob should have just asked her lol
So, as long as you get 2/3 white lights the lift counts? I have never competed before.
Congrats on the comp!
Yes, need a majority. So if you get 2 reds and 1 white it would be considered no good since you have more reds than whites.
great job Brandon. You are an inspiration.
